I want to send a huge thank you to Fairways, Newyd. My husband was cared for in a wonderful way. He was so great as we are as his family. You supported him and us in an amazing way. They all went beyond the expected level of care. You were all our friends. You and your fantastic team of carers never
failed to see to his needs and treated him with love and dignity. This level of care extended to the cleaners who keep Fairways spotless in such a cheerful way. The kitchen staff tried to create food to tempt and please him. We will not hesitate to recommend Fairways.
Reply from Jankee Patel, Director at Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care CentreThank you for your kind comments. I will ensure these are passed on to the staff at the home and I am sure they will be very grateful.

My mother has just become a resident at Fairways Newydd Care Center, and we as a family, could not be happier with the excellent accommodation and facilities there. The staff do an amazing job and are always ready to help in any way they can. We could not have found a better care home for our loved
ones. Definitely the best one in our area by far. We would not hesitate to recommend it to other families who find themselves in need of a placement for their loved ones. Five stars are not enough.
Reply from Jankee Patel, Director at Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care CentreThank you for your wonderful comments, our staff are truly amazing, and this will mean a lot to them. I will ensure it is passed on.

My father was admitted to Fairways end of October 22 after a three-and-a-half-month stay in the hospital. From the onset, Fairways provided excellent care for my father. The manager was very professional and extremely easy to talk to and deal with. She showed compassion and cared for my father in such
a caring manner, as did all of the staff in Fairways. The home was very clean, the food was excellent, and the home itself had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We, as a family, were all so delighted.
Reply from Rahi Joshi, Head Office at Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care CentreThank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to know your father is doing well with his person-tailored care, and we ensure to maintain it at all times. I will pass on your feedback to the home team.

Having looked after my wife suffering from dementia for 5 years, I was very worried when the time came that I couldn't cope anymore and had to go into care. But I didn't need to because in the few months that she has been in Fairways Newydd she has settled down a lot and become much happier and it is
all down to the caring nurses and staff. I cannot thank them enough.

If you’re reading this then you’re either inquisitive or your life has just changed forever. Has a loved one been given a terminal diagnosis like our Dad? Or maybe a Dementia sufferer like our Mum. No one tells you where to look. Maybe social worker at hospital or at Council? Or a neighbour's aunt went
somewhere years ago? Our parents were obviously going to a) live forever with no ailments b) die peacefully in their sleep at allotted time c) no flipping idea. Fairways Newydd accepted our Mum as a patient with barely any notice, she was being mistreated at another care home and we needed Fairways Family to come to our rescue again. Fairways Newydd was better suited for Mum's needs with Vascular Dementia. She’d been traumatised deeply by what she’d experienced in the preceding 7 months at another elderly residential home. Thank you Fairways Newydd for truly outstanding care, above and beyond kindness and always professional.

My father received the best care we could have asked for at KW ward, Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care Centre nothing was too much trouble. The care and love shown towards my father was excellent from the friendliness of the cleaners, to the excellent care of the health carers, to the dedication
of the trained nurses who all had a smile on their face when they entered my dad's room. We as a family were in and out of the room visiting at any time of the day with no announcements and always found dad was clean and cared for so well. The staff of 2020 deserve all the praise for their dedication to the elderly God bless them.

I SHOULD have done this comment sooner but better late than never, my mother has been in this care home just under three years. The care she receives is a credit to all the staff, they know their job and most important they personally know their clients, although we live three hours away from Meani
Bridge, if there is an issue my phone rings and I am informed what's going on.
I would recommend this care home to anyone that is looking for the right place for their parents. Thank you all from the reception throughout the care home for making my mother happy, warm, well fed and looked after.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.769) out of 10 for Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (280 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 338 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care Centre is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
