Overall Experience
Mum has lived in Allanbank for one week.
What an amazing place, with very friendly, approachable and helpful staff who constantly make an effort to create a lively, but safe environment in which my Mum has thrived.
Recently, at home, my Mum has really struggled to cope, becoming very isolated and reclusive, often sitting staring vacantly into space.
Allanbank has caused a complete reversal in her life. She is already back to being a sociable person, fully embracing the proactive society within Allanbank. Engaging in, and thoroughly enjoying all the social opportunities on offer - eating socially, engaging in conversations, enjoying the numerous activity groups and trips in the minibus. It's as if a miracle has occurred.
I have already told all my friends and a neighbour, whose husband requires care, what a wonderful place Allanbank is.

The staff attend cheerfully to my Mum's needs and they make every effort to make Allanbank a great place to live. It's everything I would hope for Mum's future - a safe, happy and secure environment in which her needs are met, where she is involved happily with other people, with whom she can relate to, and feel safe, secure, confident and happy.

I have visited and found my brother to be very dirty and smelly since he came to be a resident at Allanbank Care Home.

I feel that I don't have an opinion. I have tried to raise issues in the past that weren't resolved so I had no other option and I contacted the care inspector she also found issues with my brother's room needing a deep clean. Since then there was a meeting with the under manager to tell me that my brother was being evicted as they couldn't meet my standards.

Dear S R, thank you for taking the time to review our home. After speaking with the home's manager, I understand that your brother's social worker has assessed and investigated all aspects of your feedback previously and they are not concerned and wish for him to remain at our home. Anita's door is always open for you to discuss your brothers care needs and any further feedback.

Best wishes, Fae

My wife arrived at Allanbank Care home early December 2018 and after visiting daily for a few weeks, was invited to share the home's Christmas lunch which I found to be rather daunting. However, in February 2019, a Valentine's dinner proved to be most enjoyable which provides evidence that time is required in which to settle in.

Dear Kenneth, thank you for your feedback. It is wonderful to hear that you're both more settled with us. Best wishes, Fae

Firstly, you can't compare the level of service as I have not seen any alternatives. I generally am impressed but wish at times I could have a confirmed contact for when is best to discuss my mum's welfare. It is nice to be invited to some events. I would like to be updated if my mother attends a hospital outpatient's as Mother can struggle to confirm the full outcome.

Dear Bruce, thank you for reviewing our home. I will be sure to pass your feedback onto Anita and the team; Anita's door is always open so would be happy to discuss the above with you at any time. Best wishes.

Overall Experience
My uncle received amazing care during the year he spent at Allanbank. The staff were so dedicated and caring and always went above and beyond for those in their care.

I cannot praise Allanbank highly enough for the work they do and know that it was because of the care my uncle received that we had this final year with him which I am so thankful for. We live a two-hour drive from Dumfries so could only visit once a week, though I phoned daily and spoke to my uncle, but never doubted he was in safe hands at all times. If there were any concerns about my uncle the staff phoned me immediately and felt they were like extended family to us.
