This care home is absolutely first class. As a retired GP and with hospital experience of geriatrics I have visited dozens of care homes: this is the best one I have seen. A perfect score of 100% slightly spoiled by the very intrusive constant high-pitched bleeping on the corridor. This was less intrusive on subsequent days: but you might want to consider altering the pitch &/or sharpness.
We also appreciate your comment about the alarm noise. We will review this to see if we can reduce the sound while keeping residents safe.
Thank you again for your feedback which will be passed on to our team!
Within 30 minutes of his arrival at Fairview House, it became obvious that dad was in the safest of hands, which was such a relief for the family. He is 92, completely blind and has late stage Alzheimer's. From receiving a phone call from the administrator Cecilia telling me he had arrived and then meeting the carers and nurses, it became apparent that Fairview offers care that is second to none. He had arrived after a 7 hour journey by ambulance. Immediately assessed for any physical or medical needs on arrival and settled into his room and fed.
He has been there just over a week now and I cannot say enough good things about all the staff at this home. Everyone is caring and interested in him and his past and me as his family member. Well done Fairview and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're so pleased your father settled in well and that you feel reassured by his care. Our team will be delighted to hear your comments. It's a privilege to look after him and support your family.
Staff all great
No concerns
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you are happy with the care your mum is receiving. Our team works hard to provide a supportive and compassionate environment, so it is wonderful to know this is being reflected in your experience.
We are, as a family, delighted at the care given at Fairview to our elderly mother. The appearance of the home is so delightful with thoughtful, homely touches. The staff are very efficient, friendly and accommodating. They keep us well informed and clearly take a huge pride in their work.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, we are delighted that the family is so happy with the care being provided to your Mother. We will share your kind compliments with the team
My mum has been in Fairview House for 8 weeks now and she absolutely loves it....all the staff are absolutely wonderful with her...have seen such a difference in her she's more alive now and is interacting with other residents and with the activities available...the only down side is the food situation but that isn't on Fairview it's mum herself isn't eating much but she's been that way before she went into care...overall we as a family are extremely happy with everything....
We'll continue to support her with her eating as best we can.
Mum strugled to fit in but over time she began to enjoy life at Fairview.
Thank you for your feedback. We know it can take time to settle in, so we're really glad to hear your mum is now enjoying life at Fairview.
My father (Sandy) spent 8 months at Fairview House Care Home and was so well looked after and we'll be eternally greatful to all the staff for making his last few months caring and safe. So many activities and fun staff to go along with them. Dad was comfortable and at ease the whole time. Food, cleanliness, staff and facilities were great. Thank you to you all.
Thank you for your lovely message. We're so glad to know that Sandy felt comfortable and well cared for, and your appreciation means a great deal to the whole team. It was a privilege to support him and your family.
My Granda has thrived since moving into the care home. He has put on weight, he takes his medications and enjoys some of the activities. The nurses and carers are second to none! They are so friendly and supportive.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're really glad to hear your granda is doing so well and feeling happy here. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share this.
My stepdad has been a resident here for a goo while now and I have found that he is actually thriving in this new environment. He looks well, seems far brighter and has put on some weight due to the care he has experienced here. Very happy all round.
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear he's thriving and feeling brighter - it means a lot to our team!

The home is kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff.
Carers look after my Mums personal care and she is always well dressed.
All the staff are very welcoming to visitors- always a smile and warm greeting.
Nursing staff are excellent in communicating any issues to family.
I do not have enough space to say a big thank to everyone for my Mums care - I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone who is looking for residential care for their loved ones.
Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. Your kind words about every part of the team mean a great deal, and we're truly honoured by your recommendation.
My wife had to be admitted to Fairview following a catastrophic sub-arachnoid haemorrhage in June 2025. As you can imagine, this came totally out of the blue and was completely unexpected. Despite having gone through such a traumatic episode, we were faced with the fact that she would not be coming home. I was a Senior Nurse so my expectations were extremely high. We chose four possibilities, but to be honest, in every way, Fairview was way ahead, and we were so pleased that Mum was offered a place at Fairview. From visiting other care homes , there really was only one which was streets ahead of the others - Fairview. My wife took some time to settle as she didn't understand that Fairview was her new home. Before we were leaving her we would tell a member of staff who came to be with her to make our departure so much easier. I am so happy with the standard of care, the facilities and just the whole feeling of homeliness. I can relax in the knowledge that my wife is well cared for.
Many thanks for your lovely feedback! We are delighted to know that you're finding Fairview welcoming and homely, and that you are happy with the care we provide.
Staff friendly. Cosy homely atmosphere at Fairview. I feel my friend is being looked after as dictated by her diagnosis. She specially enjoys the cooked breakfast as at present she is not eating much.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're glad to hear you find the staff friendly and the atmosphere homely at Fairview. It's reassuring to know your friend feels well cared for, and we're especially pleased she enjoys the cooked breakfast during a time when her appetite is low. Your comments mean a lot to us.
No faults with the care at all/Excellent
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback! It's great to hear the care felt excellent. We'll make sure to pass your comments on to the staff.
My relative has been under the care of Fairview House Care Home for almost 3 years and has always received the best of care and attention. The staff are always very supportive, caring and patient. Fairview is very welcoming for relatives and has a great open door policy.
We also appreciate your kind words about the welcoming...
Mum enjoyed almost 6 months at Fairview. The staff all went beyond the extra mile to make sure all their residents feel special and cared for. Mum needed quite a lot of care towards the end of her chapter and Fairview staff were so professional and caring towards her. The atmosphere at Fairview is so welcoming and you could turn up at any time of the day and always treated the same way, with happy friendly staff. They always made you feel welcome and could update you on any aspect of mums care and wellbeing. It was reassuring that mum was in the best place and family could relax knowing this. Mum was always presented nice and clean and enjoyed the meals. I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone looking for that extra special place to stay.
We're delighted to hear that she felt comfortable, well cared for, and supported during her time with us. Our staff work hard to create a welcoming, homely environment, and...

I think the staff have helped her settle in as they are so friendly and helpfull and nothing is to much bother. We have found that the home has a very good atmosphere and there is always plenty of acivities for the residents to do.
It's lovely to know our staff have helped make that transition smoother with their friendly and helpful approach and we're glad that you find the atmosphere and the variety of...

When we start out, we look for the perfect care home (just as when we imagine our perfect boyfriend/girlfriend. As we mature we realise that no one and nowhere is perfect in the sense of having no faults, weaknesses, limitations...but don't give up on "perfect" because we CAN find the perfect person FOR US and the perfect place FOR US. In that sense, Barchester's Fairview Care Home in Aberdeen is the perfect place for my Mam (for 3 years now). We, the Management and Staff, Residents, Family and Friends, are doing our best, working hard, being imaginative and creative, as a team, indeed an extended family, in the common desire to make Fairview House a HOME for our loved ones. Perfect homes should not be measured by facilities and brochures so much as by their vision, work rate, steady improvements, ambitions and loving care. So, all things considered, I am giving Barchester's Fairview Care Home 10 out of 10, and the 10 this time is even better than the 10 last time!
Thank you for your kind words. We're thrilled to hear that Fairview Care Home has felt like the perfect place for your Mum over the past 3 years. It means a lot to know that our team's care, hard work, and dedication have made a real difference. Thank you for being part of the Fairview family and for your continued support.
