Mum required respite care and support following a severe fall, she wasn’t able to return home from hospital straightaway. We looked extensively across Aberdeenshire and after having a tour and meeting the care manager, we decided Deeside Care Home met our and mums needs. The staff team could not be
more friendly, there is a wide and varied activity programme, the rooms are kept clean and the bathroom is a wet room. Deeside Care Home comes highly recommended and we have no hesitation in recommending this care facility.

My great-uncle moved to Deeside Care home at the end of February. What a wonderful place. Friendly staff and happy residents, lots of activities going on. What a great place to spend your twilight years.

A very clean and well-run nursing home which is constantly being maintained. Management wishes to provide the best and ask the families for their opinions and ideas. Activities are so difficult with residents of varying degrees of mental ability but there is a weekly activities programme providing a
varied list of entertainment. New ideas are constantly mentioned to improve life for their residents. I can only thank that staff for their friendliness and support.

Disappointing that the care home does not meet the 5-star marketing claims. The overall rating would be between 3 and 4 if available. In particular, there is a lack of consistency in service levels.

Management are very approachable and are willing at all times to discuss any problems. Administrator is excellent and very welcoming. Most carers are very good but as always there are certain ones who are excellent but I am sure management are aware. There could be more interaction with residents, especially
to those with dementia.

Our experience is very recent and after two admissions for respite and now as a permanent resident (dad has vascular dementia) the care and management and nursing care has been wonderful. Thank you. My Dad is safe and his care is always first. Information and communication always good, the personal

Overall, the resident is well looked after. We’ve had to request towels and toilet paper on more than one occasion and to have bed linen changed, but when requested acted on quickly. Activities seem to be somewhat limited due to the size of locations i.e. the cinema room only seats 8 and the foyer area
is small, the only other areas we have seen are the dining room and sitting room.

I currently have both parents at Deeside for palliative care. I really like the general feel of the home. Staff are very approachable and in particular the manager is excellent. My parents have a lovely shared room. It’s a huge weight off my mind knowing they are settled.

The level of care shown to residents is great. Residents are encouraged to participate in the many activities. The website photos are particularly important to relatives like myself who cannot visit as often as we would like - especially during Covid.

The care given to my husband by all members of staff was excellent. I could not fault it in any way. Deeside Care Home is a first-class care home. My husband smiled every time he met a member of staff, as they were always so friendly and professional.

We could not ask for better. Staff are all so nice and really good with everyone, including relatives. My mum looks happy and healthy, and that is all we could ask for, but the staff go that extra mile for everyone. The food must be really good as Mum has gone up two sizes in clothes.

The home is very well kept, surroundings are beautiful. Staff are excellent and very welcoming. Very helpful, nothing seems to be too much bother and they are excellent with the residents, there seems to be a lot of activities, something for all.

Lovely nursing home, pleasant staff, always attentive and helpful. Mother-in-law enjoys the food as she is very fussy.
Wish a bit of exercise or physio was given as she is completely off her feet, if only she could stand then a care outing would be good for the family.

My husband has been cared for for eight years and I cannot thank the staff enough, management and the nursing staff, for all the support and dignity, care given. The facilities at Deeside are exemplary; clean and stylish, giving dignity to the residents by appearing more like a hotel than a Care home. The reception area (with coffee area, hair salon and cinema) is a lovely touch - giving residents the feeling of "going somewhere" without them having to leave
the premises. The staff are all wonderful, very friendly and always smiling - there is a sense of teamwork and a good relationship with the Manager. Nothing is amiss with general care, hygiene or meals, but on the downside, there doesn't appear to be time for the carers to get involved with the residents. i.e. Finding time to ensure a resident has personal items to hand or offering a change of scenery like a coffee downstairs. The organised activities are excellent but it would be nice to have an additional staff member responsible for the general "spirits" of the residents because understandably there will always be a physical need of one resident that will override the "whim" of another.

Always friendly and helpful. Very good at advising me by phone if my wife has had any medical problems. Strict adherence to Covid-19 precautions. The room appears to be clean and the laundry well sorted. Her care staff seem to be genuinely interested in her welfare. The room itself is quite small but
adequate.
