My father was in Lethen Park for two weeks of pain monitoring and my feelings about it are extremely mixed. On the one hand the building itself is clean and bright and well furnished, the staff are overall very pleasant and the food is more than adequate. On the other hand there are some serious issues. I made a complaint that my father had been wearing the same clothes for the first three days he was there (was told I was mistaken but I wasn't). On day four my sister called to say dad was wearing a grey shirt he described as 'scratchy'..he doesn't own a grey shirt. I went in the following day and he was wearing a peach coloured t-shirt which most certainly didn't belong to him..on further investigation neither did the underpants or pyjamas which were in his drawer. My father got home and I received an invoice for well over £1000 when it should have been less than £500. Worst of all was that dad was released without his diabetic meds and no one thought to advise us he'd run out.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review of our Lethen Park Care Home. We're sorry that your experience caused mixed feelings, and we're grateful that you've shared these with us. We understand that the team in the home did discuss these matters with you and were able to resolve these...
It brings us great comfort to know that our loved one is treated with dignity, respect, and warmth every day. The team goes above and beyond-not just meeting needs, but creating a safe, friendly, and supportive environment that truly feels like home.
One thing that really stands out is the range of activities available. There is always something engaging and enjoyable going on, which makes a huge difference to residents' quality of life and helps create a positive, lively atmosphere.
Communication with families has also been excellent, and we always feel welcomed and reassured when we visit. It's clear that the staff take pride in what they do, and it shows in the happiness and comfort of the residents.
Thank you to everyone at the home for the wonderful work you do-we

We are 100% happy with the care our dad is receiving, we are delighted with everything. He has flourished since being in the memory lane unit and our family are always welcome in the home. We have hosted gatherings in the blue lounge and it is such a great feeling to know we can do this. Amazing home and staff are always there for you. We not only observe this with our dad but when we are in, the love to others can be seen and everyone is treated so well. Nothing is ever too much bother for anyone.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write a review. He has settled so well and we love to hear him sing, he is such a cheery chap.
My dad had a very short stay at the nursing home due to his illness being further on than we were told, however we as a family was so happy when he was offered a room with Lethen Park. From the moment he arrived he was treated with total TLC. Unfortunately he only had 9 days here however the care and compassion he received was just amazing right up till he passed away on Christmas Eve. The care and attention we all got on his last few hours just made a really a very hard situation so much easier to cope with. As soon as we're arrived here with dad we were made to feel very welcome

Dad has issues with washing & changing clothes. Staff trying hard to help. The activities coordinator goes out of her way to organise an outing or activity to engage Dad and has formed a close bond with him. She goes the extra mile.

Our mum moved into Lethen Park from hospital after a turbulent 6 months and a broken hip. It sadly turned out this move was her last 6 weeks of life, and we cannot thank the staff enough for the gentle caring and support provided not just to mum but to us as well, particularly during her final week. Even though mum was sedated on palliative care that last week, and we were there most of the time, many of the staff in her unit came in to say goodnight to her when going off shift. That level of care went above and beyond.
Condolences to you and the family. Thank you for your positive review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. The past few month my beloved sister has been a resident at Lethen park. During this time the management and all the staff have been simply amazing. My sister is so very young and has been at Lethen park due to a Brain tumour. The end of life process has been so very empathic, caring and treated with the upmost dignity. our beloved sister passed away in a home that shows so much love and care to everyone including us as relatives. We can not thank Lethen Park enough. We would like to say a special thank you to the night shift team in particular they were beyond amazing. We would like to thank the activity staff for all their compassion during this time. We would like to say a special thank you the maintenance manager for making my sisters room feel so very special for the time she was there. We will be for ever thankful to the staff at Lethen park. love always in my heart.
Thank you for such lovely feedback, at what must have been the most difficult of times for you and your family. The team at Lethen Park are both thankful and humbled by your kind words
Everyone is so welcoming
Thank you for your lovely feedback - the Team at Lethen Park are proud to support your mum.
The care and attention she received was absolutely amazing. The carers, nurses, chefs, kitchen staff, office staff and activities coordinator were all so involved in caring for Mum, encouraging her to be involved but equally letting her be on her own if that was what she wanted but always checking she was ok. The menu is so good, if there's nothing that they like then they'll make something else but there is a great choice.
Activities galore if you want to be involved and a weekly hairdresser (who is amazing) to keep them all looking beautiful.
The manager's door is always open if you have any concerns.
Mum unfortunately passed away at the end of December and we were looked after so well the days before she passed and we could be there anytime.
I'll miss my visits as everyone is a friend.
You guys are amazing!
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was such a pleasure to look after your mum over the past seven years, she will be very much missed amongst the Lethen Park team.

My dad's been in Lethen for about three years now. He is really well cared for and enjoys the range of activities provided. As I live in Glasgow, it helps me seeing him on social media joining in and enjoying himself.

When my dad came to Lethen Park he was rather unsettled however the activities team buddied up with him and supported him daily with settling in, dad has been at Lethen Park for nearly a year and I can honestly say it is a weight off my shoulders. He is so safe and I can sleep peacefully knowing he has everything he needs. Recently the maintenance manager has helped with my dad's windows and supported his dementia. The activities girl is amazing at understanding my dad's needs and suggested a window covering which has made a huge difference to his well-being. The food is amazing and my dad loved when the chef visits him daily and has a chat with him. All the carers are incredible and they all meet his needs and more. I feel like my dad has a family at Lethen Park as well as our beloved family. The housekeeping staff are amazing and treat him with dignity and love.

Barchester Lethen Park Care Home is a fab home that goes beyond expectations looking after my father-in-law, it was their emerald anniversary today and I got in touch to see if they could do something, seeing that Mother-in-law visits on a Friday, and they organised a lovely afternoon tea for them to have together. Honestly, just makes my heart swell that they really look after each resident that lives there.

My dad has been in Lethen Park since the end of March 2023. I can honestly say I was a bit apprehensive at the start as I knew he wasn’t wanting to leave his house but after numerous falls it was a decision I had to make & thankfully I chose a home that I am very happy with! Dad went in for respite initially but once accessed there was no going home. The staff certainly look out for my dad & other residents & in light of a recent fall dad had (not at the care home ) they proved just how caring they are by being diligent & persistent with getting Dad the treatment that he needed! If it hadn’t been for them my dad would have still been waiting for a half hip operation as the hospital kept sending him back to home saying nothing was amiss. I can’t but thank them enough for their professionalism in the situation. Every member of staff seems to be happy in their job & they all work as a team from the manager down to the cleaning staff & it just makes for a very happy environment.

Very happy with the service provided and the activity coordinator is very community and resident-focused. Food is good and the home is well-entertained and active. The garden project has made a huge difference to the building.

My gran moved into Lethan Park recently, but the difference since she moved in has been unbelievable and so amazing to see! It is very clear that she is well cared for by the staff and thrives on the company of the other residents and the engaging activities that are provided by the staff. The communication, compassion and care that has been shown by the whole staff has made the transition into a home much easier for the whole family. Knowing my gran is well cared for and happy is all that we could wish for - thank you.
