Redmill Care Home, in the picturesque town of East Whitburn in West Lothian, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

The lovely home offers many facilities for residents to enjoy such as on-site hair salon, landscaped garden, sensory garden and lovely patio area to enjoy the warmer weather. The enhanced wellbeing programme allows residents to pursue hobbies and interests whilst learning new skills.

From care assistants and nurses, to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives at Redmill.

My son was in hospital awaiting admission to a nursing home, I received word that an assessor from Redmill would be coming soon, I paid a visit to Redmill and was very impressed by what I saw, my son was admitted and is very happy here. After visiting/ assessing five other care homes I quickly chose Redmill after I received a very thorough introduction with the care home. My aunt had a difficult few days settling in, but the management & staff worked very closely with her to make her feel at home and comfortable. After 6 weeks my aunt
believes shes living in her own home and is in a better state of wellbeing than she has been for a long time. I am delighted with everyone here.

My mum has been here for about 1 week. The room was set up for her arrival. Spotlessly clean. Staff have gone over and above to help inform us of anything needed for mum. All staff are very helpful and attentive to all residents. First impressions are excellent.

Redmill provided excellent care for Dad in the last 7 months of his life. He had Alzheimer's and other disabilities. The staff were all incredibly kind, caring, and respectful and I knew he was safe and being cared for at all times. The staff were also incredibly supportive of me. The nursing staff
were experienced and kind and knew exactly when to escalate to outside medical care. I couldn't be happier with my Dad's care. Thank you.

Every member of staff is extremely helpful, welcoming and super friendly. So considerate and caring to residents. My mother has settled in brilliantly and I can leave her knowing she is being very well cared for. Thanks to the superb management and all the staff.

Redmill Care Home has looked after my partner for around two years now, and if there were any health issues with her they always phoned me to let me know and what actions were taken. I have always found the staff very helpful. The staff nurses keep me informed on what medications or injections my partner
is to receive, and get phone calls asking my permission for her to continue getting the covid jab. So far I have no complaints about the care and home.

I'm so pleased with the recent improvements at Redmill Care Home. The new management has made a real difference and the overall improvement in standards are remarkable. The staff are attentive, and compassionate and truly seem to care about the residents. There is a more homely atmosphere now. My mum
has noticeably become more content and positive again. Her personal care has been very good over the last few months. This means a lot to our family thank you so much and also to the senior manager.

Since Mum has come into the care home she has been so settled and happy. Mum has dementia and can get confused easily.
The staff are really good with all the residents especially those with dementia.
It is a lovely environment and I'm glad my Mum is being cared for in a way the family no longer could

I feel sometimes there is an odour in the corridors, I feel this is very unpleasant. Hopefully with the new chef, the standard of food will be raised, as I've heard from some residents that the food is of a poor standard. From what I've seen, all staff now seem very helpful, polite and accommodating.

We have worked hard over the past 6 months to improve the experience for our residents and relatives, and we have appointed a new Manager who has been in post since July 2024. I know that you have discussed your review with the Home Manager and I am confident that you will find that the quality of food will continue to improve since the appointment of our new experienced Head Chef. I am delighted to share that feedback from our residents so far has been wonderful. We are awaiting a new floor for the one room that we had an odour in previously. However, with the appointment of a new Head Housekeeper, there has been a noted vast improvement and we anticipate that this will continue to be the case in the future. Our Home Manager would be delighted to meet with you again to discuss this further if you feel this would be helpful.

The staff at Redmill take good care of my dad. They know him well, his likes and his personality. The care home is very clean and comfortable and the garden is great for when we want to go for a wee walk. Staff always respond to any queries we have and take time to explain or discuss anything with us.

My mum has been a resident here since July 2023. I have noticed over the past 3 months a marked improvement due to change in management. Good to see more permanent day/night staff and not so many agency staff. Staff are extremely friendly and polite and all this combined gives me great peace of mind
that my mum is being well cared for.
