Redmill Care Home, in the picturesque town of East Whitburn in West Lothian, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

The lovely home offers many facilities for residents to enjoy such as on-site hair salon, landscaped garden, sensory garden and lovely patio area to enjoy the warmer weather. The enhanced wellbeing programme allows residents to pursue hobbies and interests whilst learning new skills.

From care assistants and nurses, to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives at Redmill.

The catering team at Redmill understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. My mum was recently admitted to hospital. Her care since returning to the home has been of a highly satisfactory standard. The staff know my mum well and care for her with kindness and efficiency. Good to see the home is being redecorated and new flooring has replaced carpets in the public corridors.

My mum was a resident at Redmill Care Home for only a few weeks, however, the care and kindness shown to both my mum and ourselves as a family was outstanding. Unfortunately, we lost mum but I can never thank the Redmill staff and management enough.

Mum has almost been in Redmill for one year now and I find the care she has been receiving second to none. I was very apprehensive about moving mum into a care home, as was dad as he saw his lifelong partner move in here (they are married 58 years this year) and I know how hard it is on him. However,
I do have to say that the personal touch of all the staff, in particular the charge nurse who my mum has a special bond with, has made it so much easier to accept that she will have to stay there. Zoom meetings are arranged weekly which are a 'must' I would say during COVID as it is our lifeline to mum and the nurse always arranges it and tells her she is going on a special date! This inspires mum to 'look good' for her husband and the lovely carers help to put on her lipstick and nail polish and do her hair before the Zoom meeting. She always tells my dad how much she loves him. My dad used to do window visits but as he is also almost 80, I prefer he does Zoom. Well done Redmill!

Redmill stepped up to the plate when due to special circumstances, I asked for a Covid-Secure meeting with my mum, a resident in Redmill. The staff were keen to help and made a window-visit happen quickly and without fuss. It was great to meet my mum for the first time in almost 5 months and I will
look to take the opportunity for a gazebo-visit next time.
Redmill are doing an amazing job caring for and protecting dependent and vulnerable residents during one of the most challenging periods in recent times.

I find the staff at Redmill to be, as the company motto points out, kind and caring.
These are very difficult times and I am impressed with the commitment to keep residents safe and well. They are trying very hard to keep the residents entertained and in good spirits. The new social media page allows
relatives to see their loved ones and keep up to date with what’s happening.
It is a great comfort to know everyone is being looked after.

My Dad has been in Redmill for 16 months now. We are a very close family and putting Dad into care was such a difficult decision for us to make, 16 months later we know we made the right choice. Not only for him to be cared for 24/7 but in our choice in care-homes. The staff really look after him. We
feel he is part of their family now too and we have built a strong relationship with the staff who look after him. Not only do they look after my Dad but really welcome my mum who visits daily. Confident when I leave Dad at the end of my visit that he is content and well looked after. Thanks to all who look after him and the support they give us, his family.

My mum has been a resident since November and dad since March. The staff are wonderful. I see a big difference for the better in both my parents since they became resident. They have plenty of activities for them to do and entertainment. Staff have been fantastic during this lockdown with keeping me
up to date with mum and dad's well being. They both love it in the home and I feel my mind is at peace because of this. Well done Redmill Care Home. Hopefully, I will get to visit again soon.

My mother has really settled here. All her needs are met. She loves sitting out in the beautiful courtyard garden in the sun.
The staff are very helpful and they are all lovely. She has a lovely spacious room that looks out to a field and gets the dun in the morning which she likes. The managerial
staff have been extremely helpful in getting her settled.

Staff at Redmill Care Home have been very welcoming and very caring. It is really helpful to have a shared sitting/coffee room, where all families can meet in a cosy, pleasant setting. It gives the opportunity to meet other families who are going through similar experiences.

My aunt had stayed with us for 24 years it was very hard for us to get used to her having to go into a home but it was very easy with the care and compassion and kindness of the staff to make my aunt feel okay and comfortable.
