This statement is based on my daily visits at various times to my brother over the past two years.
The management have a conscientious attitude to the standard of care required. I have also observed the nurses and carers carry out their duties to a very high standard.
Conclusion; It is reassuring
to me knowing that someone so caring is attending to my brother.
I have no hesitation in recommending Merino Court to anyone.

My father suffers from dementia and our family were struggling to cope with his day to day needs. Since being admitted to this care home his quality of life has improved so much. Staff are quick and attentive when needed. Dad's room is lovely and clean and everything he needs is available if needed.
Newspaper delivered each day, hairdresser, entertainers the residents can so relate to. Laundrette service is available and is very quick at returning items washed and dried to rooms (mostly in 1 or 2 days). I would highly recommend to anyone who has reservations like we did about putting your nearest and dearest in a nursing home. Top marks!

My aunt has moved into this excellent home. Since she was discharged from hospital, she has settled in perfectly and all staff have made her more than welcome. I had also seen a great improvement in her hygiene and mobility and she is more than happy here in a pleasant, clean environment.

Mum has been a client at Merino Court many times for respite. This is a wonderful place with excellent staff and management, nothing is ever too much for the staff who are always welcoming and cheerful. The manager's door is always open to you. I would gladly recommend Merino Court for respite or full-time
care.

My mum has been settled for 11 months its very cosy and friendly nothing is a bother for the staff. Bedding is always fresh, hand gel on entering the home, visitors book and a choice of meals.
In our family, we'd say out of 10 it would be 10+

I would talk to my dad on my sister's phone, we would skype each other. I got to talk to the staff as they came into see my dad was ok. My dad would tell me how good all the staff were. My dad loved his outings to the tea dance and the barge trips, I've been home and went to see my dad on a few occasions
and the staff were very forthcoming I can't fault them.

My cousin has only been in residence here for a short time but I was impressed by how cheerful she looked. She has evidently been looked after well and has a routine that she did not have when at home. Her appetite has improved. The staff are all cheerful and helpful. The decor is bright and beautifully
clean as are the toilets from what I can see.

I love visiting this home, all staff go out of their way for me and my sister-in-law. I cannot find any fault with the staff, cleanliness, food and also the staff seem to genuinely care about residents and family. Room is always clean as are the residents and would be offered tea and biscuits etc. When
visiting overall would rate this home 100%.

Merino Court provides a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere for residents and visitors. The newly refurbished/upgraded surroundings are not only tasteful but thoughtful and considerate to older peoples needs/interests. As a visitor you can access the home unannounced at any time. This allows you to
get a real idea of the ongoing level of care provided.

My experience as a regular visitor has been very positive. I have witnessed (often without being observed myself) a very dedicated, respectful, responsive and hard-working team at all levels. I feel the management and all staff are working hard to ensure a high standard of care is achieved and maintained. More importantly my relative reports "They are all nice, approachable people. Always cheerful and keen to listen/help. They let me do my own thing and the food is good!".

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.851)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.851) out of 10 for Merino Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.851 for Merino Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (239 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 275 Ratings = 4.851
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Merino Court Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
