I have only been visiting for a few weeks and I have found the staff in all departments very welcoming, helpful and friendly. They treat residents individually and I have seen great understanding when relating to my friend as his specific needs are different. I consider this very positive as his frame
of mind is of the utmost importance so keeping him calm and in a peaceful mood is very nice to see. I appreciate that they listen and observe his needs and work with him to make him comfortable, I am very happy with the service I have seen so far.

Sadly, my mum took a stroke in Jan 2021 to which she was left with her whole left side totally paralysed. She was being cared for at home, with myself and carers 4 times a day, which was great. However, she kept being admitted to hospital, scary times. Since 1st December she became a resident of Braemount
Nursing Care Home. Mum is now thriving, eating, laughing joining in with activities, bingo exercises, and had her hair cut too (lol).
The staff have brought Mum back to me again and my son his gran and my uncle his sister. I can now sleep at night knowing she is in the safe hands of the wonderful staff, from manager, nurses and caring staff, who are all looking out for Mammy. One of the staff even came on her day off at Christmas time to curl her hair, bless her. Rightly so, no one wants their family in a care home, but this one is 2nd to none in my book. So the place has made Mammy feel safe. As do I, as I know she is getting the best care around. Big thanks to Braemount Care Home, Paisley.
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Braemount Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely and heart-warming review. On behalf of the whole team at Braemount, we are absolutely delighted that your dear mum is doing so well and thriving in her new home. Best wishes to you and the family.

Lovely caring staff looking after my Mum.
The atmosphere has improved significantly in the last few months. Staff seem happier therefore residents are more content.
The environment is homely and very clean.
My Mum recently celebrated her birthday and staff made an occasion of it with a cake at
tea time with other residents.

The staff at Braemount Care Home cannot do enough for my cousin, especially in the dementia unit. I am always made very welcome when I visit and always offered refreshments. Braemount Care Home is all on one level and ideal for getting my cousin out and about. The home is well-maintained and the housekeeping
team do a great job. Visited the Bee Kind cafe which is on once a month and the food and service were excellent.
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Braemount Care HomeHello and thank you very much for your feedback. Great to hear that you feel so comfortable and welcome when you visit your cousin and that the team are looking after you so well. Lovely to see you at the Bee Kind Cafe too, it's been a very popular and successful monthly event for us. It's nice to hear that it's easy for your cousin to get in and out of the home which is the big advantage of being a multi-site with bungalows rather than different floors. Thanks again and if we can do anything further to assist either your cousin, yourself or the family, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

All in all, an excellent care home.

My Mum became a full-time resident in August 2008, yes, 2008 and has just passed away after 14 years of care at the home and to survive an extra 14 years after a massive stroke, which sadly left her paralysed down the right side and unable to speak properly, says a heck of a lot at how good this care
home is and how settled she was at living here. I have been part of her care since day one and up till lockdown I was at the home taking her out for hours each day and she was always happy to get back for her routine of being back for around 4.30pm and of course to get her fave seat at the dining area, which for over 13 years was in Linwell house. Things now are getting back to normal and the management team is spot on and always good to listen and get things done, the regular long-term staff that I know and my mum knew really well never had a bad word for anyone. My mum passed away in the best place, the way she wanted with dignity and respect and love from the staff, thanks to all.

There doesn't appear to be much stimulation/entertainment for residents. Clothes are often mixed up. There is an issue with access to the lounge post covid. Families are not allowed to enter the lounge. This has become distressing for residents at the end of a visit, as you are unable to take them into
the lounge to settle before you leave. Currently, we are standing outside the lounge waiting for someone to take our family member in. This causes confusion and upset and seems unnecessary.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Customer Service Manager at Braemount Care HomeHello and thank you very much for your review. We appreciate all of your feedback and also the high scores for care, cleanliness, safety, food and staff. Unfortunately we are not yet at post Covid stage and continue to follow Public Health guidance in order to safeguard Residents from Covid which includes the wearing of face masks, socially distancing visiting families from each other and asking them to avoid the Resident's communal areas. We understand this is not ideal and hopefully, the remaining restrictions will be further relaxed once the latest wave of infections passes and the virus becomes more manageable. We have a full entertainment and activity team within the Home which may not be evident during mealtime (or immediately before or after) and we would be happy to share our program with you. Apologies for any laundry issues experienced, this does happen on the odd occasion in a large care home but hopefully, we get it right the vast majority of the time. Thanks again.

My experience of the care my husband has had since he came into care has been very good. The staff and activities coordinator has made him feel more at home and have taken away most of his anxieties. He has settled in with all the staff and I can't fault anything of the care only that there's no shower
in his room and that he has to share bathing facilities.

The rooms look as if they have not been updated for years. My dad's wardrobe has ladies clothes, not his own. When you go there, trying to get in or out is a nightmare. I don’t feel I get enough information on how my dad is. I know my dad is getting worse, but how much they never tell me.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.795)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.795) out of 10 for Braemount Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.795 for Braemount Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (222 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 268 Ratings = 4.795
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Braemount Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
