Nestled within the friendly surroundings of Glasgow, Ailsa Craig Care Home offers personalised nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The experienced and friendly home manager leads the team at Ailsa Craig to provide the kindest care possible to all residents and ensure everyone settles in to life at the home.

Ailsa Craig underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in late 2020 which transformed communal areas including dining rooms, lounges/day rooms, the reception area, bathrooms and corridors, promising a modern yet homely environment which residents are proud to call home.

My family are happy with the care of our mum. The only comment I have is a better correspondence by staff to questions I have posed that could be better relayed to other staff members instead of repeating concerns the next day to someone else.

I am a volunteer from Singapore. Grateful to be a part of Ailsa Craig Care Home over the past few days. It has been a pleasant experience and journey thus far. Observed how the staff work here, very pleased with their care, service and attitudes. It is a very accommodating environment not just for the
patients but also for the staff. The facilities were wonderful, it has everything that it needs. I have observed the use of many safety gadgets/equipment when the staff mobilise patients, which ensures thorough safety for the patients. The gardens are well maintained, environment and rooms are nice and modern. The patients are enjoying their rest time here and they look safe and calm.


So thank you, Ailsa Craig, for doing a good job! Keep it up! Would love to have an opportunity to visit again!

I was a volunteer in the Ailsa Craig Care Home and the staff here were amazing. They know the residents here like the back of their hands and treats them as a family member.
The facilities here are great with an indoor garden and there are many activities for the residents staying here as well.


The

staff here are very accommodating and the well-personalised rooms for the residents made them feel like they are at home.

This is the families first real experience of a care home. However, the staff have been most welcoming and made us feel my mum is being well looked after.


Whilst the facilities are very good the staff are the homes main asset. Taking care of our mum and organising lots of activities gives us peace

of mind that our mum is in good hands.

Since my friend has been in Ailsa Craig, I see an improvement in her overall wellbeing. I now know that she is safe and being well looked after. This has taken a lot of stress from myself as previous to my friend coming here, I was all she had, which was having a negative impact on me.

My father spent most of a year in and out of hospital and has been in care at Ailsa Craig for nearly 8 months. I am very happy with our choice of care home. The buildings are very light and bright, the rooms pleasant and the staff are excellent.
My father is 94, he is very frail and not always coherent
but he is treated with respect and tenderness and humour. I couldn't ask for more.

My mum was admitted to Ailsa Craig at the beginning of March due to the progression of her dementia.
I have nothing but praise from the management, nurses, care workers and assistants. My mum has settled in extremely well, much better than I thought she would, this has come about entirely from the
staff. The care and affection shown to my wee mum is second to none. They also look out for her and the other resident's needs. I can't praise the staff highly enough. I can now sleep soundly at night knowing my mum is in safe hands and that she is in the best place. Keep up the good work! And thanks x

The review is mainly for entertainment staff who will be very much missed he was great with all the residents including my mum organising lots of activities also music headsets and DVDs of residents. There is a lady who is a great addition to the entertainment team and my mum really enjoys the hymns
that she does.
All the carers and cleaners are a credit to Ailsa Craig Care Home and hopefully, HC-One will be as good as Bupa or better.
