Abbey Court is a care community providing the highest level of feelings-based care and support to up to 50 residents.

Care is tailored to suit the individual needs of all who choose to live at the home.

Staff will commit to you from the day you move in and do their best to ensure your stay is as fruitful and meaningful as possible.

The Home is extremely spacious throughout, all rooms are bigger than current standards with most rooms able to cater for couples if they wish to stay together. The four lounge/dining areas are relaxing and homely with plenty of natural light from the large windows. There are also gorgeous landscaped garden areas which are safe for residents to walk safely and there is seating throughout the garden for 69 people. There is also a large greenhouse for planting.

All meals are prepared on site (unless it is a themed takeaway night).

The Home has a ground-breaking Infection Control Policy which greatly reduces the chances of infection breaking out and reduces the chance of spreading if it does.

There is high speed Wi-Fi throughout the home. They are the first home in Scotland to install infra-red fall detection monitoring into their bedrooms to greatly enhance the safety of residents. So far they have 12 units installed and will soon be adding to cover all 50 bedrooms.

Abbey Court was the Winner of the Regional Care Home of the Year - Scotland award 2021 at the Caring UK Awards, and the Manager was 'Highly Recommended' in the Care Manager of the Year awards 2024 run by Stars of Social Care.

Abbey Court is contracted with Local Authorities and they accept local authority funding as well as self funding residents.

There are Daily Activities, weekly church service, bi-weekly exercise classes from an outside company, regular visits from the local nurseries and primary schools, theme nights, entertainment nights/days, quiet spaces for reading and relaxing.

My uncle has been in the care home for over a year.
Staff and management are very approachable. The home is amazing. It is like the one big family you can visit any time, food is good.

Delighted with the care my uncle receives. Staff are so friendly and caring. Management are amazing. Nothing is ever too much. Activities in the home are very good and meaningful. My uncle loves having a job in the care home looking after the animals, this gives him a great purpose. Highly recommend.

My mum was in this care home for 5 short months. I witnessed first hand as did my sisters a persistent failure to provide adequate care for my mum and other residents with dementia including not administering life saving medication timely, staff swearing and shouting as well as openly vaping. Putting
rave music on in the lounge for their own enjoyment rather than the residents. The list is endless. We visited mum nearly every day as we had to provide the care they failed to give. My mum passed away in June unexpected. We contacted the Care Commission who were seriously concerned (emails to corroborate this) and they were moving forward fast to investigate. Abbey Court changed their registered name during this period and horrifyingly under Scot's Law, Abbey Court no longer exist as a business and cannot be investigated. The CC inspector was devastated and tried every legal route to overcome this. Our guilt and grief is devastating at the lack of accountability. Don't put loved ones here.

My elderly neighbour currently resides in Abbeycourt and I have visited on several occasions. I found the staff to be very accommodating, helpful and cheerful always assisting the residents and visitors. I can't recommend Abbey court enough.

Nanna is so content here. She has been here for 5 weeks now. She loves the food, the staff and has enjoyed meeting new friends. On a personal note, the home is very clean, the staff are very approachable and helpful. The communication from the home is 2nd to none. You are always kept Updated on the
phone with their actives, and it's good to see how happy the residents all look. So happy we as a family chose Abbey Court for nanna.

All in all a fabulous place to live my sister loves being in Abbey Court we as a family are so delighted that our sister is in Abbey Court she has now been for the past 7 years. I found the establishment very well run. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are exceptionally clean. Residents are treated very well with the staff. Nothing is to much trouble for them always happy to help. I would highly recommend putting a family member into there care.

Mum has settled in really well and been well looked after. Many of the team show genuine care for the residents Room is spotlessly clean every time I visit. Mum is always clean and well presented (albeit every item of white clothing is now pink or grey). Food is generally good but lunch portions looks
especially small, the soup portion in a bowl only fills to halfway in a mug. Getting set up with local GP was stressful as delayed medication for infection and regular tests. Why doesn't Abbey Court have a registered nurse on the team? It is evident that refurbishment works are underway but couldn't old carpets be professionally cleaned? I find myself apologising to visitors.

Since Mum has been in the care of Abbey Court she is happy there and likes the staff who look after her. The only issue we have is the food but that might just be Mum being fussy. Also, I think the residents need more stimulation and the home would benefit more from employing an activity coordinator.

Mum is well looked after in Abbey Court. The staff are lovely and have a great relationship with the residents, you can see that when they interact with each other. The home is spotlessly clean and the rooms are lovely more like hotel rooms.

All staff were kind, considerate, polite and very caring to our mother, ourselves and any friends that visited.
The home is extremely clean, and they make a massive effort to encourage the residents and visitors to join in with the varied activities, both indoors and outdoors, all aimed at stimulating
and exercising for the residents.

My first impression was Abbey Court was clean and spacious allowing the residents space to move around under the watchful eye of the staff. Also gives the residents the option of having company or alone time. The bedrooms are clean and organised suited to each resident's preference. I particularly like
the resident's artwork on display. The new build adjoining Abbey Court is outstanding and beautiful with all the mod cons so different from the regular care home image. Abbey Court is very resident preference orientated, which suggests good management.

My personal experience of Abbey Court has been first-rate. My Mum is 97 years of age and has been a resident for coming up to two years. Prior to having Alzheimer's my Mum loved family, socialising, theatre and dining out. In Abbey Court, they have parties, for every occasion, on the calendar, also
entertainment. Craft workshops and exercise classes etc. Beautiful food on a daily basis, as well as individual birthday cakes for each and every resident. The staff make each day as enjoyable as possible for each and every resident, creating an "ambience" to the Care Home, that gives a feeling of home. Residents are always kept very smart looking. They treat every resident with love and respect, while tending to their every need both mentally, and physically, in a very caring and understanding, homely, environment. So I am very grateful. (We also get to enjoy the WhatsApp group and see pictures of activities. It's so nice to see everyone interacting and participating.)

My mum first entered the home to provide me with respite at the start of April and then became a permanent resident at the end of May. I cannot recommend the home enough, my initial impression was to judge by its outside appearance in April and thought I may have made a bad choice. How wrong that was.
From the minute my mum entered the home, I really learned not to judge a book by its cover. All the care staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and the management were caring and wanting to help the residents, which is exactly what you want and need. Each and every one of them is excellent and friendly. They go above and beyond for all the residents doing whatever they can to make the residents feel at home, cared for and to ensure any visitors feel welcome. The care and empathy, the staff show, made the fact that my mum had to be a permanent resident much easier as I knew she would be well cared for amongst nice people. I would recommend Abbey Court to anyone whose relative requires care.
