Abbey Court is a care community providing the highest level of feelings-based care and support to up to 50 residents.

Care is tailored to suit the individual needs of all who choose to live at the home.

Staff will commit to you from the day you move in and do their best to ensure your stay is as fruitful and meaningful as possible.

The Home is extremely spacious throughout, all rooms are bigger than current standards with most rooms able to cater for couples if they wish to stay together. The four lounge/dining areas are relaxing and homely with plenty of natural light from the large windows. There are also gorgeous landscaped garden areas which are safe for residents to walk safely and there is seating throughout the garden for 69 people. There is also a large greenhouse for planting.

All meals are prepared on site (unless it is a themed takeaway night).

The Home has a ground-breaking Infection Control Policy which greatly reduces the chances of infection breaking out and reduces the chance of spreading if it does.

There is high speed Wi-Fi throughout the home. They are the first home in Scotland to install infra-red fall detection monitoring into their bedrooms to greatly enhance the safety of residents. So far they have 12 units installed and will soon be adding to cover all 50 bedrooms.

Abbey Court was the Winner of the Regional Care Home of the Year - Scotland award 2021 at the Caring UK Awards, and the Manager was 'Highly Recommended' in the Care Manager of the Year awards 2024 run by Stars of Social Care.

Abbey Court is contracted with Local Authorities and they accept local authority funding as well as self funding residents.

There are Daily Activities, weekly church service, bi-weekly exercise classes from an outside company, regular visits from the local nurseries and primary schools, theme nights, entertainment nights/days, quiet spaces for reading and relaxing.

My mum appears to be very settled at Abbey Court, by comparison to her previous residency in hospital. She is generally in good spirits anytime I am with her or speaking to her, despite Covid restrictions over the last 1.5 years. Staff are generally very helpful and welcoming during any engagements

Abbey Court is a very well organised Care Home. Staff are extremely caring and look after the residents to a high standard. Covid 19 has been very challenging for everyone but Abbey Court managed to keep everyone safe and well with hard work and exceptional commitment and following guidance to the letter
to keep the virus out of the home.
They have managed to deal with the challenges of family members due to visiting regulations but now things are much better.
I couldn’t ask for a better or safer place for my Aunt to live and be cared for as it is difficult for me to see her but I know she is very well cared for.

Despite this ongoing pandemic the management and staff of Abbey Court have gone above and beyond to support not only the residents but the families. They continue to keep residents stimulated and have put in place safe indoor and outdoor visits allowing and encouraging family contact.

My mum went into the care home last year I am very happy with my mum's care. Staff are excellent. The location and facilities are excellent. Staff keep us well informed through pictures, videos and WhatsApp messages.

My gran has been in Abbey Court for some time now and the staff are always very attentive with her. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and the activities planned for the residents are great especially during Covid times.

My mum has been a resident for the last 2 years and the staff are great with her. She is very well looked after and I have no concerns at all. An excellent care home.

Have been outside visiting my friend who is looked after very well by the care home
She is always clean and tidy.
There seems to be a lot of activities within the home. Bingo, exercise, painting and many more.
The staff are very kind and helpful.
I haven't been inside the home yet due to covid restrictions.

Excellent!

Gran's care has been amazing, all through the pandemic we have been kept up to date with pictures, video calls, essential visits, etc. They started indoor visits in March and it has all gone perfectly smoothly, the staff have organised it brilliantly and any other relatives we have spoken to feel the
same. The home has done so much through all the covid mess and kept everyone happy and healthy.

My mum is extremely happy with the care home. All of the staff provide a high standard of care, they go above and beyond for the residents and really care about them. The home itself is clean, nicely furnished and spacious. The food provided is of a good standard and they are accommodating to people’s
needs. There is some form of activity on most days and staff try to motivate residents to join in.
Overall, I’d certainly recommend here for anyone looking for somewhere for a family member and I can’t thank the staff enough for their care.

I am so glad that the management were proactive in postponing visits due to the on going Covid-19 very early on which has prevented any cases amongst the residents as seen in other homes. The staff have also been great in setting up ways of communicating with relatives throughout this time.

Excellent care given by a very friendly, competent team who treat the residents with extremely good attention. The staff/carers have a fantastic rapport with residents, finding ways to stimulate them and include them in events. Abbey Court care home is spotlessly clean and comfortable and my aunt is
always well dressed and colour co-ordinated in fresh clothing. My aunt has missed her own home and her late husband but has settled really well having raved about the food and homemade cakes etc. She has said its as good as the hotel. Abbey Carers are an excellent team, giving excellent care, even more so now they are in Lockdown due to the risks of Coronavirus. The videos are keeping family in touch with their loved ones, allowing us to see the activities they are participating in. Keep up the excellent work, the deputy manager and the team. Thank you.

This has obviously been such a stressful time for the family so I can only imagine how my mother-in-law feels. But I can honestly say I’ve never seen her look so happy in the photos and videos that have been posted online, which I know is a great comfort to my husband, my sister-in-law and my kids,
especially my 13-year-old daughter.
It’s a great comfort that she is among people who really care and who are trying their hardest at such an uncertain time.

My mother had been a resident at Abbey Court for almost a year now. I cannot express fully how happy I am with the care and attention she has received to date. The management and staff alike have been extremely supportive of me and my mum which has made the transition a lot less traumatic. It isn’t
like any other care home I have either worked in or visited. It has a very warm and familial feel and it is very person-centred. Some days mum just wants a duvet day and this is accommodated. I tell her it’s a hotel and she agrees that the service is great. Thanks for making what was an extremely difficult decision a lot easier and very reassuring.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting my Father who recently joined the Abbey family. As we all know it’s not easy seeing our parents decline and even harder when they have to be placed in a home. Unfortunately, I do not stay in the area, so I had reservations about this new journey my Dad was taking.
I can not say anything negative. I saw how sweet, caring, compassionate and extremely funny staff members. I was able to participate in sing songs and play dominos with the staff and residents. I watched how they interacted with not just my Dad but with other residents, again I couldn’t fault them. The response of the residents to the staff members was positive too. I have no fear of my Dad ever being hungry or thirsty with the amount of tea and biscuits consumed. I tasted the food too and it was delicious. Thank you for in a matter of hours putting my Dads pictures up and to All the girls thank you so much for all you do and for sending me pictures of my Dad this itself is such a bonus.

My mother received excellent care and attention, respect and love from all the staff.
I couldn't have asked for any better.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a care home for their relative.

Since moving into Abbey Court, my mother-in-law has received excellent care. The staff are always interacting with the residents and are always happy to support them in any way they could.
Rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard and always kept clean and tidy.
I would highly recommend
this home to anyone looking for care for their relative.
