Golfhill offers nursing and dementia care by an experienced team who are also trained in the challenges of mental illness, Parkinson’s and physical frailties. Respite, palliative and convalescence care are also practised.

Golfhill consists of four spacious and self-contained houses which have been set out with homely comforts in mind. Residents can feel relaxed and comfortable in spacious communal areas and ensuite bedrooms while enjoying views of the lovely gardens.

A varied menu is organised to suit long-term health and nutrition, and also takes account of personal preferences and tastes.

A wide range of stimulating activities are enjoyed by residents, with a positive lifestyle and good mental and physical stimulation considered to be an important part of life in an Advinia Care Home.

The home has its own cinema room and hairdressing salon and also benefits from regular visits from local schools, entertainers, physical activities and excursions.

I just want to congratulate all the carers in my mum's unit, Alexander House through this rough time. You have kept Covid nearly free in this unit. You are all doing a great job. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing my mum and all of you as soon as possible. Thanks again for everything.

My mum has been in Golfhill for 6 months, she has been treated with dignity and respect, the staff are very good with all the residents, its good to see photos especially because the home is in lockdown due to COVID-19. In the photos, they all seem to be kept busy. Mum is happy and well cared for,
which is my main priority.

My mother recently spent some time in Dennistoun House for intermediate care following discharge from hospital.
Every aspect of her stay there was excellent. The care and attention she received from every member of staff was wonderful.
Our family cannot believe the difference in her! She has now gone
into another care home on a permanent basis and we can only hope that she will continue to thrive there. Dennistoun House has set the bar very high.

My wife went into Golfhill Care home six months ago and at that time she was very stressed but due to the care and perseverance of the nursing home, house manager and staff on finding suitable medication to control her mood swings, I don't know what we would have done.
She is more settled now and
is in a better place mentally and is more manageable. I can't thank the staff enough, as there was a time when we thought we may have to put her into hospital care. This has taken a lot of stress off me and my family.

The staff at Golfhill Care Home are excellent carers. Activities could be improved, but overall the home is adequate. Hairdressing services need to be improved as this is poor. The care at this home, for my mum, has been without question outstanding. The hospital gave her hours to live, refused treatment
and nine months on at the home, my mum is thriving. The care received, far outweighs any other issues.

My parents have been in a couple of homes for respite, and they have never been as happy or as well treated as they were in Golfhill. The staff were amazing and so kind to both of them that I would never hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Although only at Golfhill for short 'respite care', my husband was made very welcome by all the staff and he settled in quickly. He ate well and didn't seem in any particular hurry to leave when I went to collect him after his/our 'holiday'. I would not hesitate to return him to Golfhill if and when

Caring staff, good facilities. I live 200 miles away and staff always keep me updated by phone and I am often offered a drink when I arrive if the staff have time. My mother hasn't known me for over 10 years and your staff make a difficult situation for me a little better! Thank you all.

My mother's stay was a lovely experience for the whole family. She was very anxious and became very settled. Staff got to know her quickly and we became one family. I was very contented being in here. Staff, day and night, could not do enough for me. Domestic housekeeping were excellent, physio was excellent, staff very pleasant, checking through the night to make sure you were ok.

I found staff to be very helpful and the environment very clean. We had the option to help make his room comfortable and personal. Food is very tasty and we have had lunch together they have lots of areas which are like little memory areas and work very well and the pub is just fab. We have seen
some lovely caring moments between staff and the residents and feel very content in the knowledge that he is being looked after well.

I have 20 year’s experience as a nurse working in a variety of healthcare setting. I have two children who make me very proud every day one is at secondary school and the other is out working. I enjoy going for walks and listening to music. We have a wee dog called Charlie who causes complete mischief and is always looking for attention. I enjoy working in Golfhill and feel at home as I grew up not far away from the home.
