I attended a birthday party for a resident where a function room was provided, enabling family members, many of whom had travelled a distance, to spend quality time with their relative. On occasion, the care staff dropped in to check if anything was needed, and at one point, they took several photos
of all of us as a group and were exceptionally helpful and caring.

My mother-in-law (MIL) has been in Wyndford Locks Lodge for 5 months. My MIL has advanced dementia; she is well cared for and happy. The staff in Maryhill House couldn't be nicer. They are friendly and caring and look after my MIL as though she is their own family. There is always a lovely atmosphere
when we visit. No matter what a care home environment is like, if the staff aren't lovely, caring people, then the care wouldn't be good. Fantastic team

My mum has usually been very shy and was socially isolated. Since coming into the home through support from the staff she has come out of her shell. She is more active and she is eating well due to the great food. Staff have showed lots of kindness, care and compassion towards her and we are very grateful
to them. Through their care at Wyndford Locks it has made the decision to come into care more bearable for us as family. Staff are understanding of Lewy-body Dementia has helped my mum immensely and also her family.

My grans health has improved since her admission in January 2025. The staff are so cheery and helpful. The overall running of the home is superb and everybody has protested meal times so no visits during meal times. The Staff are never idle as they are always busy looking after our loved ones.

My family and I are extremely happy with the care my father is receiving. All the staff are amazing, they are meeting all my dad's needs, and he seems to have settled really well. We could not be happier with the service provided. We could not recommend Wyndford Lochs enough.

My mother-in-law (age 80) has been a resident at Mary Hill House for two years after a rapid decline with dementia. She settled in very quickly with the support of an incredible team at Wyndford Locks. All staff are very caring and look for opportunities to engage her in a range of activities that
take place in the care home. Communication between staff and ourselves has been excellent, and we are happy in the knowledge that she is being well taken care of.

My 93 year mum who is living with dementia has been cared for in Wyndford Locks for 7 1/2 years. The staff are always attentive to mum and always take note of any concerns we have, and I would say she is happy and content. The gardens and open space are kept lovely and its nice for residents who like
to sit out.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.708) out of 10 for Wyndford Locks Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 48 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.708 for Wyndford Locks Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (420 Excellents x 5) + (116 Goods x 4) + (22 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 559 Ratings = 4.708
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wyndford Locks Care Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 150 registered maximum number of service users is 30, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
