Staff are all very friendly and caring towards myself and the resident I take out every week he seems very happy and extremely content with the service that is provided, I have spoken to several residents who seem to be very happy in Buchanan House.
Thank you for your kind words and review. We welcome family and friends involvement to help maintain community links and with any form of social stimulation. Our resident responds so positively when you and your friends come to take him out. He always comes back with a smile on his face. Thank you for all you do.
We pick a resident up once a week to take him out for lunch. Before picking him up, we phone Buchanan House to ensure that he's fit to go out. The manager and staff are all very pleasant, professional and helpful to deal with. I can't praise them enough.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I will pass this on to all the staff. It is lovely to see our resident's friends still coming to visit them and taking them out for a few hours. They really look forward to these special times. The team work hard to ensure there is a varied activity...
All the staff have been great, very welcoming to my aunt. Recently attended a cocktail evening, great singer. My aunt has settled in quicker than I thought she would have. Always lots of staff happy to assist.
Thank you, Shona, for your kind words. Happy Mum is settling in. We do enjoy a party and have several themed events coming up. We do our best to keep our residents entertained and the staff are great at taking part and having fun. Thank you again for your review.
Excellent care home. My mother's now been at Buchanan House for over 2 years. Excellent activities team who all give 100% every day. Carers are wonderful and treat my mother as one of their own. Always kept in touch about any problems with my mother from nurses and managers. I always know my mother is well cared for and made to feel at home.
Thank you for taking the time reviewing our care home. We are very proud of our service and it is nice when relatives feel part of the home. Look out for the next cocktail evening.
The care home uses social media well to document activities on a daily basis. My mum loves having her photo taken and regularly asks to see if there are photos of her on there. It is lovely to see her happy icing biscuits or having a visit from the local nursery children. While away on holiday recently, I was content in the knowledge that she was being well looked after and receiving great care.
I am regularly kept up to date with my mum's well-being and any queries/questions I have are addressed immediately. It is definitely the best care home for my mum.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I will pass it on to the team. Social media is a great way to keep in touch. And yes, your mum certainly loves the camera and the camera loves her.
Comfortable and homely surroundings. Staff are genuine and brilliant. The personal care and attention are priceless. Would recommend to anyone looking for care facilities in the area. The cocktail party with entertainer was a fantastic touch. Five-star.
Thank you for your kind words and your review, I will share this feedback with the team. We have worked hard at getting a great staff group who can really get to know and support our residents, the cocktail party is just one of many great events the home puts on, so the residents get the most out of living at the home.
I have visited a close family friend a number of times. Very impressed with the care and compassion shown to all residents. All staff are very friendly and approachable. I have also been fortunate enough to be at the home when entertainment was provided. Tonight's cocktail party was superb and enjoyed by residents, visitors and staff! A big thank you to all. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will pass this on to the team. I am delighted you enjoyed the cocktail party, we try and throw as many events as possible so residents get the most out of staying with us at the home.
My husband is still settling into his new situation, but overall has been treated with such kindness and dignity since his arrival. Staff go above and beyond in every aspect of his care. He is always clean and tidy and warm and comfortable. No complaints regarding the quality of foods available at all mealtimes all of which are well presented and served on matching crockery. Lovely home baking daily for afternoon tea! Wide range of activities and entertainment every day. It's a breath of fresh air to hear the way all the staff from the kitchen, cleaning, laundry, and nursing/ care staff speak and respond to the residents. No care home is ideal for your family member but Buchanan House is I'm sure the best we could have hoped for.
Thank you for your kind words and review. I am delighted to hear about your experience of Buchanan House Care Home. Our kitchen staff continue to provide a lovely variety of food using local fresh produce. It's our pleasure to support your husband within the home and it's great to hear about his and your experience.
Care was a last option for us as a family, but Buchanan House has shown us as a family it was the best and only option for him.
I can leave knowing he is cared for and loved by all.
Thank you Buchanan House for all you do for Dad.
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass onto all the team. We appreciate the decision to place a loved one in care is often a difficult one. The team here at Buchanan House aim to support not just the resident but the family through the transition and to achieve a good outcome. We welcome all feedback and suggestions if we can do anything better. Kind regards.
The staff are friendly, cheerful and efficient. Any issues we may have are addressed and reviews required on my mother's health and actioned as quickly as possible. The room is comfortable and warm, and the admin team is efficient and welcoming. All in all, the staff endeavour to make my mother's stay for all concerned as easy as it can be at this difficult time.
Thank you for your kind words and review for Buchanan House Care Home. It's great to hear that any issues you have are addressed quickly and that you find the room both comfortable and warm. I will pass on the feedback to the team at home.
I’m very happy with the care my elderly mum is receiving in Buchanan House Care Home.
The management and staff are excellent and very approachable if I have any issues regarding my mum.
We are having regular meetings with the manager as to what is happening in the home.
Thank you for your kind words and support. It is a privilege to care for your loved ones that we take very seriously. We value all feedback as we strive to deliver excellent care.
We were very pleased every time a member of our family visited Buchanan House Care Home. Staff are always so helpful. The resident was always up, dressed and clean. He seemed settled and happy and able to join in as and when was appropriate.
Thank you for your review and kind words. I will pass this on to the team. It’s our pleasure to support your loved one at Buchanan House Care Home.
My sister-in-law has been in Buchanan House Care Home for several months now and is there on a permanent basis. She has settled well and is very happy with the care she receives. She likes the food very much and is pleased with the programme of outings and entertainment which the staff put on. My wife and I are impressed by the friendly and compassionate care given to the residents and appreciate all the hard work put in.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and for your kind words of support.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, showing the visitors to their seats and bringing glasses of wine and tea or coffee to drink. They remained professional at all times.
Thank you for your kind comments - I will pass on to the team.
I recently attended the 80th birthday party of a friend who is a resident at Buchanan House Care Home. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make my friend's birthday party a very special occasion for her. I was very impressed by what they had done. The home was decorated nicely in the conservatory, and there was a nice atmosphere. Also, beautiful flowers and a lovely cake.
Thank you for your kind comments. We love to celebrate with our residents, families and friends.
There was a shortage of staff and he wasn't up every day. He wasn't changed daily. He was kept in his room and did not see other residents.
I had to arrange my own transport for him.
I was disappointed with his care.
Sorry that your experience has not been a positive one. I would be happy to meet with you at your convenience to discuss. Here at Buchanan House we strive to provide a 5 star service and welcome all feedback to achieve this.
I attended the summer party at Buchanan House. It was really well done and all the staff were wonderfully dressed up as cowboys and doing songs and dance routines. The residents and guests all had a lovely time.
Thanks for your kind comments - I will pass them on to the staff. We all had a fun day.
Choosing a care home for a family member is a really hard decision, I visited many care homes in the area and Buchanan House Care Home was a clear winner, it felt like a home from home for my mum and somewhere I knew she would get the care, love and safety she deserved. The activity team and permanent staff are amazing and a true credit to the home throughout what has been a terrible few years they kept everyone smiling and we felt close to them even though we could not visit. Regular Facebook posts have given me daily peace of mind that mum is OK. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, there have been noticeable staff shortages and a need for agency staff. As my mum and many of the other residents have alzheimer's/dementia this is hard as they don't know their little quirks and special needs and can be confusing to not have the consistency of familiar faces who know them. Many friends have visited and seen the care given and asked if they can book a place!
Thank you so much for your kind words and review. It has been a very difficult time during covid and I am glad we have been able to give you peace of mind during this time. We are working hard on recruiting permanent staff and are glad to say we have a number of great new team members at Buchanan House Care Home.
All the staff are very approachable and kind to both visitors and relatives. My husband settled into Buchanan House Care Home quickly, even though he was really troubled before moving in, after being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. He talks highly of the staff and is very content. Both management, nursing and care staff have been very accommodating since my husband moved in. They are very friendly and empathetic to family members as well as residents, and they always spare a few minutes to chat. My husband's condition deteriorated quite rapidly and I am still dealing with the shock of the change in his personality. I was so worried when I eventually had to admit defeat in terms of looking after him and was concerned about his future care. However, since he moved into Buchanan House Care Home last November, it has given me peace of mind and confidence that he is being looked after well.
Thank you for your kind words. We are having a Meet & Greet on Tuesday 3rd May 6-8 pm for relatives and friends to meet some of the Team and you would be most welcome.
The care home has obviously had a very difficult period over the last 2-years, and I think they have coped well. It is difficult at the moment to assess the situation in the care home as we are only now getting some limited access inside, also there is a new manager who we have never met. However, I have noticed on one of their online pages that there seem to be a lot more activities for the residents, such as games and craftwork. Also, there are some new staff who have been very pleasant and helpful.
I have arranged a meet and greet night on 3rd May from 6-8 pm when you will be able to meet the team informally - including new staff and enjoy some refreshments.
Kind regards.
