My husband seems to be very settled in his surroundings and has been very calm which is a relief to me. If I raise concern i.e. I thought my husband's foot was swollen, the doctor was out the next morning and I got a phone call to tell me what was going on.

The overall standard of care was good. The staff appeared caring and attentive. Before lockdown I thought the activities were good (concerts and parties etc) - I don't know after lockdown arrived. The staff were good at keeping me informed about my mums health and well-being. Her bathroom could do with
an upgrade, but apart from that standard of her room was good.

Recently had an issue involving a battery-operated air purifier, which was discussed with staff who said they would look into it. I spoke with the area manager also who said she would look into it and get back to my husband (he was the one who spoke to her). No feedback at all. He made his own enquiries
and drew negatives from all concerned. Even a courtesy call from the area manager would have been appreciated - even if the results were unfavourable.

As a family, we can't fault the care that our mum has received, and the dedication and support from the staff are excellent. We appreciate how difficult and stressful the last year has been for everyone, but feel that there could have been a bit more communication to provide updates on our mum's condition.
(A brief 2-minute conversation would have been sufficient).

Castle View staff have treated my wife thoughtfully and with great care. They have paid great attention to her personal hygiene as well as the cleanliness of the home. Whilst I have not seen any examples of Castleview catering during my visits in March, my wife is a healthy weight and in apparent good
health apart from her major medical condition.
Re the ratings I have left three unrated because I have had no contact with home management, food or activities during March.

My husband has received excellent care and attention, and I am happy in the knowledge that he is being well looked after. I also know I can call and telephone at any time to speak to someone if I have any concerns, and I will be listened to. The staff are lovely and are very caring people who do a difficult

Mum has been in Castle View for just over a year now and has had first class care. Carers go above and beyond to make Mum comfortable and happy.


Hygiene and cleanliness is also to a high standard as are Mum's medical requirements.

Mum was admitted to Castle View at the end of August 2018 in the later stages of MND. As a family, we have nothing but praise for the staff who looked after mum so well and with professionalism and compassion. We were listened to when we had any concerns (which were very few) and changes were made.
Nothing was ever any trouble for staff and we always felt welcome and mum was happy. Sadly she passed away at the end of January but we are grateful to the staff for making her time there very comfortable.
