We chose Castle View Care Home for mum, over a few other care homes in the area, where she had spent periods of respite care. We as a family are extremely pleased with all aspects of care at Castle View. The staff are exceptionally kind, competent and willing to listen.

They go the extra mile. We are always made to feel very welcome and they always stress that it is mum's home and we must come and go as we please. It is never easy putting your elderly parent into care but in Castle View, we are reassured that she is in the best of hands.

Unless there was a real emergency I would not think of using any other care home than Castle View Care Home. The standard of care is high and my husband benefits from the fact that the staff all know him well and are always pleased to see him. He seems to settle quickly. The more often he goes the more familiar he comes with the routine.
The house itself is warm, bright and cheerful with a high standard of cleanliness and security.

The staff are kind and helpful and seem prepared to go the extra mile. I am impressed by a feeling of welcome when I visit.

My mother was a resident of Castle View Care Home for just under 11 years. She was cared for and looked after very well by all the staff, allowing her dignity and giving her personal attention. From getting her daily paper, her hair done, providing her with activities to enjoy - singing, bingo and arts & crafts, to making sure she had the right spoon for her soup, this was all done for her. My mum felt Castle View was her home - as did I and my family who were always made to feel very welcome and always kept informed of her health. Mum's life was made as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible, she was shown love, care, respect and support, for which I am indebted to the staff of Castle View for.

My husband has only been here 3 weeks so I feel I am not in a position to give a full picture. To date we have been happy with how things are going. The staff have been most helpful.

My mother became a resident after two failed attempts in other care homes. She was a resident in the dementia unit from June 2015 until she passed away in March 2016. I could not begin to express how much gratitude my sister and myself have for this unit. They gave my mother the very best quality of life she could have in her time there. They were especially helpful kind and compassionate to all of the family especially mum. I hope if ever this awful disease strikes me I am fortunate enough to find such a home from home. Thank God for places like this.

We have had a stressful year with mum settling in various nursing homes. We have found the management and staff very helpful in trying to settle mum into the home. Room is always clean and bedding always changed. Mum always smartly dressed. It would be nice if we could have an area available to make cups of tea freely for mum and family therefore not constantly asking staff.

Reply from HC-One, Careline Team at Castle View Care Home

Several years ago there was a room in reception that had tea and coffee making facilities. Over time it was agreed that it would be more homely to have these facilities in the Residents bedrooms where appropriate, as this was more homely and families could sit in privacy with their Relative. Any Resident can ask for this facility in their own room.
