I attend Hallhouse Nursing Home to visit my friend. Resident W has a good rapport and 'banter' with the staff. I find all the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the activities arranged are good fun. The staff always make time to chat, and I am never afraid to ask questions. The new decor and flooring in the hall is lovely and really brighten everything up.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, I will ensure to pass on your feedback to the staff team. Thank you for taking the time to complete the review, it's very much appreciated, Kind Regards Kerrie
I have visited the care home several times, travelling up from England to see my brother-in-law, Billy. Every time I have been there, the staff have made me feel so welcome and always go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need.
The care they give Billy is exceptional and, without a doubt, they always put the residents first. My sister, who is there most days, is also very well looked after, and the staff are always there to support her too.
The home is maintained to the highest standard of hygiene, and not to mention the food, which I can only imagine tastes delicious.
Keep up the great work - you are all amazing.
kind regards
Carol
his health's deteriorated significantly. He is no longer mobile and completely dependent on staff for his care. Over the past year, all staff have consistently shown compassion and kindness, ensuring that he feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for, even when his behaviour can be challenging. They have demonstrated remarkable patience and understanding, taking the time to get to know his likes/dislikes handling every situation with professionalism and empathy.
On a personal level, the staff have also supported me through what has been an incredibly
difficult and emotional journey. I often visit with my grandchildren, and cant thank the
office staff enough for being there to support them when they struggle with grandpa's illness.
Over the last year, redecoration has transformed the home, making it feel bright and very welcoming.
I have every confidence my husband is receiving excellent care.
thank you for taking the time to send in your very kind review of the staff, the care and support both you and your husband are receiving from the team. I will make sure I pass on your kind words to all the staff.
kind regards

My father passed away in December 2025 having been resident in the care home for 4 1/2 years. I have left a previous review for the care home and lodged complaints with the care commission so this review surrounds Bellsize who own Hallhouse.
I have been fighting for monies owed to my father's estate which are being retained by Bellsize with no reason given other than processing times. I was initially informed it could take 90 days which in itself is disgraceful however 90 days have passed and I still haven't received the money owed.
Phone calls not being returned and emails ignored. I lodged a formal complaint over 2 weeks ago and despite a follow up email and 2 phone calls requesting someone phone me I have still had no confirmation, acknowledgement or correspondence in relation.
Not what you need after a bereavement and I would advise anyone to avoid this company.
Thank you for your review and it was our pleasure to have supported your father at Hallhouse Care Home. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and apologise for the inconvenience caused and especially at such a difficult time. Upon receiving your review we immediately escalated...
The staff are kind and attentive to my needs.
thank you for your kind review and for for your honesty and I will make arrangements for the head chef to come and meet with you to discuss your likes and dislikes in more detail and personalise a menu more suited to you.
kind regards Carol
The care he received was excellent, he found all staff friendly, approachable and helpful. He was well fed and got plenty of tea to drink which really pleased him.
He is a very quiet person and doesn't like to mix much, but he was asked everyday if he would like to participate in the daily activities, he was happy with the staff from care assistants , nurses, laundry and housekeeping always stopping in for a few moments when they were passing his room checking in that he fine.
I would not hesitate to have him in Hallhouse for respite in the future...x

All staff in the care home are very friendly and helpful. My mum is looked after well and cared for - something which is important to me. There are excellent activities inside and outside of the home. I would definitely recommend Hallhouse.
Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review, your kind words are appreciated and I will pass these on to the staff team.
My mum and dad moved into Hillhouse Care Home on the 18th December 2024, and both settled in really well. This is all down to the staff. Both have had a new lease of life, and that is down to all the activities the home puts on, from the men's club, women's pamper days and day trips out. I can't praise the home and staff highly enough.
thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review, your kind words are appreciated and will be passed on to the staffkind regards
The care and attention my sister is receiving at Hallhouse is away above my expectations. The management and staff are extremely informative and friendly and take time to tell us of how they are caring for my sisters needs.

We have been very pleased with the care that has been given to our relatives. They have improved since being in the home. A good variety of activities & trips are planned every week which they participate in. There is always staff available to ask questions to. The staff keep us updated by phone if they have had a fall or anything else relevant to our relatives. We have regular review meetings with one of the team who is involved in the care of our relatives. They also hold relative meetings for anyone to attend where they talk about staffing & planned work on the building etc. Hall house is very friendly & we are always made welcome when we visit. The home is always clean & fresh. We haven't found any negatives with Hall House since using the facility.
thank you for your lovely review and kind words. I will make sure to pass this on to the team. thank you again for taking time to send in your review.kind regards
My experience of Hallhouse Care Home in respect of my brother, I can only speak highly of the staff at all levels, carers, nursing, house keeping and office. Any concerns are dealt with quickly, and I am kept informed at all levels of his care.
Thank you for taking time to submit your kind review, this is much appreciated, we will make sure this is passed on to the staff team. Kind regards
He came to the care home from hospital and needed a zimmer to walk. He also was very depressed and lonely.
The staff have embraced him and his needs to such a high standard. He now does yoga every Monday and takes part in all the activities and has made friends for the first time in years. He has attended social clubs, event days, boat trips and the residents go out regularly for afternoon tea and much more. He also loves the afternoon cake and coffee trolley and the tuck shop that has been introduced.
If any issues have arose, the staff have resolved them quickly. For instance when I was concerned that he was losing weight a food and fluid diary was promptly put in place and my dad given more encouragement at meal times.
We, as a family, have got the old dad back that we thought had been lost for good and we can't
thank the staff at Hallhouse enough.
Kind Regards
Hallhouse Care Home at Fenwick is a wonderful place. I am very glad I have chosen it for my wife. All the staff are wonderful, from administration, nursing, caring, kitchen and last but not least, the housekeeping and cleaning staff, I could not speak any more highly of them all. The patience, compassion and love they show and give my wife and all other residents are just great. I am ever so pleased my wife is in their care.
I am very happy with the staff, they are excellent caregivers. The rooms are nice and well-presented. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents busy.
Staff are always happy to discuss any problems or issues and are always resolved very quickly. Good informal inclusive atmosphere. All staff have very good engagement with residents. A regular meeting takes place with management and residents, where all are encouraged to raise any points on their mind. Nice peaceful setting too.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our services here at Hallhouse Care Home. I will share your review with the team. Thank you, Carol Barr
Lovely open-air lounge for the residents. The staff always welcoming and willing to address issues or queries. Regular activities to entertain residents and encourage participation. Residents are treated with care and dignity.
kind regards, Carol.
We continue to be very happy with the service and level of care provided to our relative. The staff are kind and jolly with the residents and recent permanent additions to the staff have improved the service. The home is clean, warm and comfortable. Nurses have a good knowledge of the care required by residents. There are plenty of opportunities for residents’ participation in activities. Communication with families and links with the wider community is improved. The manager has plans to improve the environment and facilities and has shared these at a group meeting for relatives. The home is showing an awareness of continuing improvement. We feel confident that our relative has good care at Hallhouse Care Home.
kind regards
Carol
