I was unsure what to expect from a care home when I began looking around for my father who suffered a bad stroke and also has Parkinsons. I chose Hallhouse Care Home mainly due to the location to be honest and I have been delighted with the care given to my dad. The staff work tirelessly to care for the residents and are always upbeat and full of humour and treated with dignity.

There are lots of activities arranged for residents in the home and as day trips. Rooms are a good size as are communal areas. A refurbishment has commenced which looks promising as the old decor was dark and dated and it is already looking brighter and more modern.

My only areas for improvement would be the menu - slightly healthier would be nice - and for the residents to be taken outside into the garden area when it is mild and dry. My father only goes outside when I have taken him and not only does he enjoy it but he gets some much-needed Vitamin D.

Overall I am very happy with Hallhouse and so is my father.

If you have to be in a care home, then Hallhouse Care Home is a very pleasant place to be. Management is very efficient. The atmosphere is good and mostly peaceful! The surroundings are lovely and the gardens well kept. My mother who has been here for 3 years and has dementia, believes she is in a hotel, which is great!

I find my mothers care to be excellent. Nursing, caring, laundry and domestic staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive. Any concerns at mum's health deterioration are dealt with promptly and considerately to her one to one needs. We as a family are very happy with mum's care. My mum mentally is very alert and is capable of voicing her own opinions. As long as she is happy here then so are we. Can't praise the staff enough for the personal loving care they give. My mum has been in this home since October 2014.

My mother was admitted to Hallhouse just over 2 weeks ago. I visited today for the first time since admission because we all felt it was best our mother settled, becoming familiar with the team, environment and communal living.

The senior carers have been great at contacting me also has the Manager with general updates during the first 2 weeks. I just thought I had to inform you of the fantastic job the whole team have done in the very short time as my mother is so settled, contented, immaculately dressed and feels safe. It is such a relief for my brothers and me as it has been an extremely challenging time over the last few months to keep her safe and cared for at home.

The maintenance man 'worked his socks off' to decorate her bedroom again within a very tight time frame. Also the housekeeping team to label the clothes, arrange the furniture and the cleanliness of the bedroom.

I cannot thank the Manager and her team enough, truly all live and breathe the values.

One very happy relative!!!
