Initial settle period and no major issues at this point. Some delays in returning my father upstairs - occasionally in excess of one hour waiting time.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Howard House Care Home

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear your father is settling in well with us. I have passed your feedback on to our home manager and I believe that this has been resolved within the home. Best wishes.

Although our friend has only been in the home a few weeks, following a long stay in hospital, we have been very impressed with the way she has been treated, in particular, considering my friend's ongoing health problems and the way this has been managed. The staff have all been first-class, ever cheerful and treat our friend kindly, gently and with great respect. Our friend has settled into the environment really well, much better than we anticipated.

I have been a resident in this home for the last six months. I am happy at the way things are, the staff and management are always there if you need them. Very well cared for, lovely room, kept very clean. The food is lovely as well. I can still do things the same as when I was living at home, feel safe and well looked after. Thanking all care staff for looking after me.

Howard House is slowly returning to normal after Covid. The staff have a little more freedom now to get involved with the residents once more, outings to shops, walks in the park and centre stage is back as well as a great indoor activity programme. Refurbishment is underway with a new garden, modern rooms and a self-service coffee shop for residents and visitors. Residents are well cared for and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Howard House Care Home has been the best decision we made for my wife. She has been a resident now for a year. She is absolutely thriving. The staff are amazing, they are so friendly and helpful. They are always smiling or singing. It's very clear that Howard House is a very happy and content place to work. All staff within Howard House are a credit to the company. They are worth their weight in gold.

My mum has been at Howard House for just a few months and the care she has received is excellent. The staff are so friendly and always happy to help. There are plenty of activities for the residents, and it is lovely to see them taking part and having fun.

I am delighted with the care my mother has received since coming into Howard House. My mother is a quiet reserved person and whilst it has taken time for her to settle, the staff have been wonderful in helping make this transition as streamlined as possible. It is a happy place. Everyone is friendly, down to earth and are so caring and attentive to trying to make my mother's stay as enjoyable as possible. It is wonderful to hear my mother is engaging in some activities. Thank you for your care, compassion, patience and understanding.

Over the last four weeks, my mother has had episodes due to her illness. The staff was unable to deal with this and called the police. They have given notice to my mother, and we're unwilling to extend this for a week. Mother had bruising and when she had episodes, was at least once, cornered by staff. When went to take mum out today and personal things missing, unable to find no support and just left to pack up and go.

My mum has been a resident for a few months now and overall as a family we are happy with her care.

The only area I would highlight is the medical side as on a few occasions my mum has needed either pain relief or help with applying cream and been told someone will come when they don't appear. It also seems to take a while to order items she has previously had on repeat from her doctor.

My mum was a resident for a very short time before she passed away, the staff were amazing with her even though they never really got to know her they showed kindness in every way.

I am now in the process again for my mother in law and I certainly will be looking to Howard House Care Home.

I have no complaints about the staff, I think they all do a great job, my only criticism is that the staff change a lot and every time you go in there is someone new and I think it would make visitors feel more comfortable if name badges were worn rather than having to ask everybody their name. Also I think it would be good if they could give their name when answering the phones as it can be embarrassing having to ask who is speaking.

It was my daughters birthday at the weekend and I bought a gift for my Dad (a Howard House Care Home resident) to give to her.
The staff at the care home went above and beyond to bring us all tea and cake and a beautiful celebration with my dad.

I really cannot thank them enough. My dad loves seeing his grandchildren and I know he loved every minute of the time we spent with him. After all their hard work during the pandemic and the tireless and selfless care they provide, it was really so much appreciated. The staff are a credit to their employer and do a fantastic job.

My experience with Howard House has always been a positive one. Kind, caring and friendly staff and nurses. Entertainment girls are always first-class with the activity programme, they are always trying to help residents at their individual level and support their needs.

Throughout her ongoing stay, my mother has been very well looked after in terms of accommodation and personal care by committed staff with good humour and tolerance. I have found the staff from reception through to the day to day caring and management of exceptionally high standards and always helpful, smiling and most importantly, with my mother's needs, interests and wellbeing first on their priority list. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone in need of care!
