We are very happy with the care my mum receives at Ballumbie. The staff are extremely friendly & very attentative and nothing seems like a problem. They all seem very genuine with their caring way and communication is excellent. After moving to Ballumbie, I now feel comfortable & happy that my Mum is being well looked after & safe. They create a good environment & nice atmosphere for all.

Since my mother was admitted to the home she has been we recieved and cared for. The activities keep her busy and enjoyment. The staff are kind welcoming and are happy to help in any way. They are supportive and open and friendly, I am so pleased and can now visit as just a daughter and not a carer.

Anytime I visit along with my wife the team at Ballumbie Court have always been welcoming. They are attentive to residents and always able to update us on how Bill has been and advise us of anything he may require or needs. As his guardian my wife is always consulted on any decisions regarding his care. It is a great, well run care facility, keep up the excellent work!

The care has been exceptional. I have had to speak for my Dad & his usual routine & requirements have been put into action. As a P1 Teacher I feel you are meeting all ther success criteria. All I care about are human rights in the Educational world of GIRFEC, I feel safe for my dad in the phenomenal, secure environment.

Can I also add - I'm considering this for Mum

The staff have been very attentive to my loved who has been challenging in their behaviour. They have continued to attempt to build relationships with my loved one - by getting to know him - his likes/his dislikes etc.
The staff have tried to make the transition into the home as smooth as possible for my loved one.

The staff have kept me up to date with regular communication about my loved ones care & needs.

My uncle has been in Ballumbie for almost 2 years now and the level of care he receives is second to none. The team take a genuine interest in him and his likes and dislikes and strive to keep him as entertained and involved in the daily activities as they can. Keep up the great work! I would definately recommend.

The care and empathy shown to mum throughout her 2 years at Ballumbie Court was fantastic. Despite mum being non-verbal and immobile, she was treated as every other resident and was in the day room whenever I visited. The staff were all fantastic, always attentive to both mum and us.

We're always treated very well at Ballumbie Court Care home when we visit my dad. My disabled mother is allowed to use the list. We are offered drinks and snacks if available. My dad is always looked after and staff are willing to let us know how he's getting on. We have been able to plant some nice flowers in the garden for the residents to enjoy. My dad is happy to socialise with the staff and they are very kind to him. He was given a lovely fidget vest as he likes to use his hands a lot. Dad is in a very good mood at the time of writing this and has been given a nice haircut. Staff look after the sweeties we bring him and pass them out to him.

My Husband is very happy in this carehome. Every time I visit him, he is always laughing and very cheerful. He is kept spotlessly clean - both himself and his clothes. All the staff at Ballumbie are welcoming and very approachable if you have any questions or concerns regarding your resident, I am happy to leave my husband here for all the care he needs.

Your staff are a credit to you. Polite and very friendly. Food looks excellent - my husband really enjoys being here which obviously pleases me very much. I've enjoyed making drawing etc. with my husband, and he & I enjoy the entertainment. He had a super birthday and made to feel very special and the home made cake was delicious

Overall Experience

Visited my brother today at Balumbie as soon as I walked in I could hear cries of desperation, my brother has been non verbal for a few years (doesn't even make a noise) so I I was shocked to see it was him, his head face & neck were torn to pieces with him scratching, everyone seemed to be oblivious to this apart from one old man who was a patient, he was shouting , "help him , he doesn't like it", so can someone explain to me how an old man who presumably has dementia noticed my brother's distress but no one else did, I had to advise staff to get a doctor, they told me he had been like that for a month, he had an exfoliant & shampoo that they had been using but very obviously not working, the village idiot would have noticed!!! when your brother is looking into your eyes & begging for help it's the most heartbreaking thing you can ever imagine, they finally got a steroid cream to hopefully calm the itching, when are we going to. Stop these kind of things happening!!!

Since my mother in law has been a resident in Ballumbie Court I have not only seen a significant change in her for the better, but as a family too, we feel the care given to her and overall experience from all the staff, that it is another level of care that we, as a family tried so hard for her. So as heartbreaking as it was, to find experienced care, we as a family know we made the right decision to expert staff, a lovely home, always go over and above.

My great uncle moved to Ballumbie late December '24 in between Christmas and New Year. Even though I knew it was the right decision I was nervous. The carers made him welcome and are friendly and approachable. It's been a few months now and my great uncle is happy and settled. He is eating regularly and enjoys socialising with residents and staff. He even sang kareoke in the 'pub' on the first floor. I feel at eat knowing he is safe and happy.

Since the family took a very difficult decision to seek care for my mum, who was being cared for by my dad in their home and was proving to become too difficult. We came to look at Ballumbie Court as we had heard good things. The minute we stepped in and greeted by the manager, we knew mum would be treated like a queen! Every single day we see her thriving and the 24hr care is absolutely 1st class. Thank you to everyone here.
