Nest care home in Dundee. Wonderful, helpful care manager, always approachable, care staff are full of respect for residents and visitors, home is always clean and I wouldn't put my husband anywhere else. Ballumbie is perfect.

Since my dad went into Ballumbie in October 2017 he has been settled and really well cared for. Staff are excellent and keep in regular contact regarding all aspects of his care. My dad is happy and content and I have no concerns regarding his well-being.

Extremely happy the way mum is looked after. Nothing is any bother tot he staff. The staff are extremely caring and always ready to give time with mum when she needs it. I cannot praise the staff enough they go beyond there duties at all times.

I like the home because they keep me busy makes me happy. They don't restrict me and it feels like home.
The staff are good to be around. I like to keep gardening and I like going out to town for a pint of lager. I like going to the Golf Club for a steak pie.

An excellent care home providing a high standard of care. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, cleanliness is excellent and the staff are welcoming and well-trained. This seems to be a well-run care home with genuine caring staff. It is now being updated and decorated but hopefully the cleanliness will continue as it was getting a bit dirty due to lack of cleaning staff who were doing everything they could in the time they had.

It has been rather unsettling these last few years, with quite a few changes in management and shortage of nursing staff.
Hopefully, the new manageress will be with us for a while.

Welcomed to the home by all staff I passed. Sat with my Gran in a lovely small lounge.

My husband is resident at the home. He was very ill and not expected to pull through with the time and dedication from the staff he slowly recuperated. The carers and management are so caring for all the residents as I have seen for myself, even down to the domestics who are always busy but always greet
you. I am a regular visitor to the home and it is spotless and the rooms are very clean and well furnished. I am always welcomed every day I am there and received coffee and biscuits and asked how I am myself. I find this is one of the best homes in Dundee and I have viewed many before my husband went there. I am very satisfied with the home and the care he is given as his welfare comes first.

Over the last weeks, the general atmosphere in the home has been amazing. Staff (all) seem more relaxed and happier. We have complained many times over the 10 months Mum has been a resident, but I think due to changes in staff members and a good management team (more so in last few weeks) residents
and staff seem to know and care for every resident. I met two ladies who had come to view home for their Mum and I totally recommended Ballumbie (This was not my opinion many months ago).

My sister has now been a resident at Ballumbie since April 2016. We had some issues for the first few months, mistakes with medicine etc...
After a change of management things very much improved. Over the last month, a senior member has left, you can now both feel and see improved care for residents
and a happy working atmosphere for staff, this good work feeling has been passed on to residents.
My sister has been very ill over the past week, the family have been with her constantly during this period. The dedication and love she has received has been wonderful. The staff have also been very supportive to all of us, offering us food and drinks throughout the day and night.

I think management and staff do a good job in difficult circumstances. My partner is catered for nicely with courteous decent staff and overall I am happy with the care and attention.
Entertainment for residents could be better but is difficult in the circumstances of the residents illnesses.

Good personal care and attention to residents. Activities improving. Room kept clean. Good varied menus. Staff there for you as a relative when sometimes get a bit upset. Only issue is clothes, mainly underwear going missing.

My mother has been a resident of Ballumbie Care Home for the first 4 years, while this has been a very difficult time, she has received excellent care and treatment. The staff are friendly and attentive in dealing with my mother and the other residents. The staff do an excellent job under difficult
circumstances, as all residents have different needs. That does not mean that there is no room for improvement this in not a criticism but should keep the staff on their toes.

I cannot thank the staff of Ballumbie enough for the care my mum has received over the last 7 months. Unfortunately, my mum passed away last week in Ballumbie but the care she received throughout was first class. From the first day when we, as a family were all very confused and frightened about what
was happening, the excellent staff guided us and ensured that mum was safe and well looked after.
We had expert advice and support from everyone. Last week was particularly difficult as you can imagine but once again the staff were there to guide and support us. My mum was treated with respect and dignity throughout and we have nothing but praise and the utmost respect for all of them.


I do believe that the staff of Ballumbie are magnificent and that they very much make the place the special home it is. As my father's health continues to deteriorate I am absolutely sure if he requires care then Ballumbie will be my number one choice. Thank you to everyone for being kind, caring and patient!
