I have visited residents as a pastor over many years in this care home. Visiting different residents male and female over different age ranges. Have also been involved with staff, promoting events throughout the year and interacting with all the residents.
Since my father moved into this care home in July 16, I have been most impressed with how he has been looked after. The staff are extremely friendly and always give the impression that they want to be helpful. The home is maintained in an excellent manner, well heated and always clean and tidy. There is always a good selection of food. All staff, management, nurses and carers are all to be congratulated for their professionalism and kindness to all the residents.
Mum spent 3 months in the Marina Care Home until her passing at the end of October 2016. The standard of care my mum received was very good from all staff and the support to us as a family was excellent. Any issues raised were dealt with quickly and as a family, we felt that staff, admin and management were always available and approachable. Mum really enjoyed the home cooked meals and the endless cups of tea etc and of course, we as visitors were never left out. Mum had a number of serious medical issues and the nursing staff kept us up to date and explained everything that was happening. As expected, mum's conditions deteriorated and over the last 2-3 weeks, the family were more in attendance. Again, the support we were offered was excellent and the family appreciated all that was done for us but especially for mum until her demise which was handled with dignity and respect for all.
I have been really pleased with the level of care my Mum has received from all staff in Marina Care Home. Carers, cooks, administrators, nurses and manager are loving and warm towards all residents. Food and accommodation are of a high standard. the recently appointed manager is very committed and caring and wants to get care for the elderly right at all levels.
I have always found the staff at the Marina Care Home open and friendly. The emphasis in this home is on good quality care and maintaining the dignity of the residents. The standard of hygiene is very good and I am very satisfied overall with the care my mother receives. I would have found it very difficult to find a better care home than the Marina.
