The compassionate Castle View care team is committed to providing the highest standards of quality and person-centred nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. They never lose sight of the fact that, first and foremost, Castle View is the residents’ home.

Castle View provides residents with facilities in a warm and caring environment benefiting from its peaceful location and surroundings. Set in secure landscaped grounds with stunning views over the hills and down to the sea, Castle View is conveniently located on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Peel on the western coast of the Isle of Man. Bedrooms have en-suite facilities, electric profiling beds, and assisted bathrooms are also available. The home has an on-site hairdressing salon and residents can use the free WiFi throughout the home.

Residents can also benefit from a sensory unit, enjoy a broad range of activities and are encouraged to live as independently as possible, through the use of care pathways, particularly for residents who are living with dementia.

I am very happy with the care he has. I just wish he would use his walker a bit more often. The staff are all very good to all the patients.

My mother cannot stand or walk therefore totally reliant on staff. Qualified nurses are, on the whole excellent, caring and compassionate, carrying out any interventions professionally. All staff are pleasant but carers not always 'caring' e.g items such as call bell, telephone etc left out of reach.
I recently found Mum with faeces under and around her nails suggesting that she had not been washed properly. The food is plonked in front of her but she cannot cut up many foods and uses her fingers to eat! The water jug is not changed regularly. Mum describes some staff as 'rough' when dressing her and putting her in her chair. The table in front of Mum is not cleaned.

Everyone has been kind to my husband, giving him quality of life in the last stages of dementia. Also, giving him dignity which I really appreciate. My husband has always loved getting out and mixing with people and your staff have given him this again. Sadly, I can't live him the care he needs now.

Hi, I was very pleased with my stay at Castle View. The accommodation was what I expected. The only quibble was that the riser recliner chair was small -I am six foot- but I managed ok.
The staff were very good, knowledgable and helpful.
The food was good.
The only small quibble was that there
were not much activities. Generally, it was very good.

Recently, I was a resident in Castle View Nursing Home for eleven weeks during which time I had ample opportunity to experience to activities of all staff members. As a qualified nurse of many years, it was interesting to note the finer points of care I received from the nursing staff which was excellent.
The carers were helpful, friendly yet professional, making the ethos of the home a comfortable one and this enables me to recommend this home very highly.

My mother has been a resident for about 17 months. I don't live on the Isle of Man, but visited her just recently. The care is first-rate. Most notably, the degree of interest, interaction, compassion, and love demonstrated by the staff is outstanding. It's clear that Mom is respected, and the staff
couldn't have been more welcoming to me during my visit. A truly warm and spirited environment.

The staff at Castle View Nursing Home facilitated a rapid, smooth transition for Mum from the hospital into a lovely room in their care home. Within just a couple of days we saw a massive positive turnaround in Mum and she sparked back with all her humour, quips and fond memories.
The staff treat
her with dignity and fondness like old friends, and have made all of us feel at home from the get-go! We are very grateful to all the staff at Castle View for their wonderful warm welcome!

Our mum has settled well since November and the team has been professional and attentive to Mum who likes her new environment.
The transition from Mum's residential home to Castle View Nursing Home has been smooth. It was obvious Mum's key nurse had read and understood Mum's notes and could refer
to specific medications. He was open to our input when discussing Mum's care plans which were detailed and showed understanding of Mum's character and condition. We discussed the flu jab which he prompted us to talk about and Mum has since agreed to having the flu jab.

The home is very modern and well kept. The home is due to get more staff which will help the current staff and the level of interaction with residents. The home has a very helpful receptionist who is a credit to the home. One of the nurses in charge in the dementia section is fantastic. If you had a
home full of her style of nursing looking after patients it would be an even better environment.
Castle View Nursing Home is a good care home and is always looking to provide the best care for residents. The only downside is the lack of activities which minimises interaction. Perhaps the new staff due will turn this only negative point around.

Mum spent approximately eighteen months living at Castle View Nursing Home and within that time received great kindness and care from all the wonderful staff. Even during difficult Covid times, they went out of their way to look after our mum. Sadly Mum recently passed away but the fact that she saw
the other residents and staff as her extended family and adored them has given us great comfort. They were also very supportive of our family's needs and we will forever see them as friends.

Mum has been a resident for 9 years in Castle View. She was very happy there from the start, engaging in all the activities and enjoying concerts etc. Her care has always been good and the staff have always worked with me over decisions as her dementia has progressed. She continues to be well looked
after by a team of highly trained carers and nurses who have been severely challenged over the last two years. Well done to the Manager and all the staff for dealing with the frustrations, heartbreak and other endless challenges that came with Covid.

My mother has lived in Castle View Nursing Home since September 2013 so this September it will be nine years! She celebrated her 101st birthday last month and although, due to Covid-19 restrictions, I was unable to be there in person (I am almost 80-years-old and live in Bristol) I enjoyed sharing this
important landmark with her via the nursing home Skype video. Mother is a very happy and contented resident which is testimony to both her own pragmatic and positive attitude to life and, most importantly, to the care all the staff give to not only her but to all the residents in their care. Castle View aims to make life as close as possible to living in one’s own home. They reach their target! Thank you Castle View for everything!

My mother was a resident at Castle View Nursing Home from January 2013 to her death in June 2021. The staff, many from international backgrounds are extremely caring, knowledgeable and showed genuine empathy to my mother. I feel she got the very best care available. The facility was purpose built, sunny,
airy and pleasant. Staff are constantly trained and many of them have been there for many years, which is important for the residents.

Reception staff, friendly, helpful caring and practical. Care home staff, attentive, friendly, professional and efficient in their duties. Cleanliness, good. We have been very impressed with the positive changes in our mother since she came to Castle View in May 2019. The staff have clearly taken a great deal of trouble to work with her on her needs and her diet. To us, she seems so much more relaxed, enjoying her meals and engaging more with those around
