My husband had two weeks respite at Scarlet House. He was treated with courtesy and well looked after by cheerful staff. The facilities are excellent and my husband came home more alert and lucrative. Alzheimer's is an awful disease very stressful for him after a high powered job. A gentleman there was most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Being a poor old dear of 84 myself I have appreciated you care!

Management and Staff are wonderful and make a real effort to make Scarlet House a lovely, cheerful and happy place. My Mother in Law was treated with great care, respect and genuine kindness. The quality of all public and private areas was excellent. I can personally recommend the food as I have had lunch here and the menu was well thought out and the food delicious and well presented.

Thank you for the care we had at Scarlet House. The staff and nurses were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We liked it so much. We would prefer to go there instead of going on holiday next year.

My mum needed full time care whilst I was on vacation. She spent 3 weeks in respite and this changed her life for the better. Her carers were excellent, respectful and really cared. So much so that upon my return, she didn't want to return to her own bungalow. She pleaded to stay at Scarlet House, unfortunately mum passed away an hour after I left her on that day. The staff were brilliant, especially one lady whom she loved dearly.

As far as I could tell dad seemed quite content in Scarlet House. The staff are very caring without being intrusive. He really enjoyed the food! Having the coffee bar and other informal seating areas to meet and talk was very good, also being able to bring the dogs in to say hello. The only thing dad complained of was the toilet seat not staying up. My husband looked and said it's just the design of it, common problem, not for ladies but for old gentlemen!

My mother had several weeks in hospital, having first been admitted with a nasty UTI and then sent to a community hospital prior to going home. She had a bad fall there and was then discharged before test results came back. 3 hours after getting home, she was contacted and told to go to back as they hadn't realised she had Pneumonia! When recovered from this she was not strong enough to go home to carers so I arranged for to stay in Scarlet House for 2 weeks. The staff there were simply fantastic and helped her regain strength and confidence.

Meet the Team (1)

Adrian Boldog
Adrian BoldogJob Title:Home Manager

Becoming a Home Manager at Scarlet House has been the highlight of my career so far. Before this, I was working as a Team Leader. I really wanted an opportunity to progress in my career, and that’s something Care UK has offered.

As Home Manager, it’s important to be caring, compassionate and have a good eye for detail. You also need to have good interpersonal skills and be diligent, hardworking and committed to the home.

I love seeing the residents enjoying activities in the home – it's my favourite part of my working day. I’m proud to work with a fantastic team that makes a difference in residents’ day-to-day lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy family life, and my other interests include music and cars.
