Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I have been delighted with the care received by my mother for her one month of respite care at Scarlet House. Initially I called in to see if I could look around and I was immediately welcomed by the home manager and given a detailed insight to life at the home. Mum stayed for a month and was treated
with warmth, respect and dignity. During that time I saw her grow in confidence, settling into life with the support of the staff. No job was too difficult for the staff, they always had time for mum and me. I think mum was actually happier here than at home and I put that down to the high standard of thoughtful appropriate care for an 88 year old lady with memory problems.

During my mothers respite care, all staff were extremely helpful and caring, not only to my mother but us family members also. Unfortunately my mother became ill during her stay, the staff on duty called a doctor and informed us immediately. Two days later my mothers condition deteriorated and staff
called doctor she then went to hospital. I cannot stress how highly I regard the staff and their devotion to duty.

My mum was transferred to Scarlet House from hospital for end of life care. All staff introduced themselves to mum then dad and myself. All staff asked mum her preferred name, what she would like to be called. All staff give mum personal care using privacy and dignity. All staff relate to other residents
with respect. All staff are happy to assist mum with dietary needs even when they are very busy. They spend time feeding her at her pace, not rushing her.

I have visited my friend three times in this care home and would like to say how happy it makes me knowing my friend (aged 92) is well cared for. Every time I come I meet more members of staff - all so helpful and polite to my friend and myself.
Very thrilled to see (and hear) that all the staff are
local! The décor is amazing, the place is wonderful, five star service.

My husband had two weeks respite at Scarlet House. He was treated with courtesy and well looked after by cheerful staff. The facilities are excellent and my husband came home more alert and lucrative. Alzheimer's is an awful disease very stressful for him after a high powered job. A gentleman there
was most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Being a poor old dear of 84 myself I have appreciated you care!

Management and Staff are wonderful and make a real effort to make Scarlet House a lovely, cheerful and happy place. My Mother in Law was treated with great care, respect and genuine kindness. The quality of all public and private areas was excellent. I can personally recommend the food as I have had
lunch here and the menu was well thought out and the food delicious and well presented.

Thank you for the care we had at Scarlet House. The staff and nurses were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We liked it so much. We would prefer to go there instead of going on holiday next year.

My mum needed full time care whilst I was on vacation. She spent 3 weeks in respite and this changed her life for the better. Her carers were excellent, respectful and really cared. So much so that upon my return, she didn't want to return to her own bungalow. She pleaded to stay at Scarlet House, unfortunately
mum passed away an hour after I left her on that day. The staff were brilliant, especially one lady whom she loved dearly.

As far as I could tell dad seemed quite content in Scarlet House. The staff are very caring without being intrusive. He really enjoyed the food! Having the coffee bar and other informal seating areas to meet and talk was very good, also being able to bring the dogs in to say hello. The only thing dad
complained of was the toilet seat not staying up. My husband looked and said it's just the design of it, common problem, not for ladies but for old gentlemen!

My mother had several weeks in hospital, having first been admitted with a nasty UTI and then sent to a community hospital prior to going home. She had a bad fall there and was then discharged before test results came back. 3 hours after getting home, she was contacted and told to go to back as they
hadn't realised she had Pneumonia! When recovered from this she was not strong enough to go home to carers so I arranged for to stay in Scarlet House for 2 weeks. The staff there were simply fantastic and helped her regain strength and confidence.

Suzanne

Suzanne Tullet

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Having previously led the team at Winchcombe Place I’m excited and feel privileged to lead a new team and ensure that everyone’s supported, working together and managing a team I’m proud of.


I started my working career after studying for a Pharmacology degree, which led me to work in a community pharmacy and after hearing all the wonderful things about Care UK I wanted to try something new in my career, so I joined Care UK.


Previously at Care UK I was Deputy Manager at Winchcombe Place and have taken part in the Future Home Manager Program to help me develop my skills and understanding of home to be a successful home manager.


Within my role, I believe you need to be knowledgeable in a wide range of key areas, responsible, approachable efficient and understanding which has helped me develop a successful team.


Outside of work, I love to dance and previously I’ve been featured on television in a dance competition.
