Our mother has been at Victoria Care Centre for a few months, we are so happy here. She really feels at home and we see that all the staff - the nurses, the therapists and the managers are so devoted to their patients and very caring with always a smile and always open to comments, ready to help.
Keep
up the good work.

My mum has been here for two years after caring for her at home for eight years prior to the pandemic. I feel she is happy and secure here. My mother's complex needs are met by the lovely staff on her floor. No requests are too much when it comes to her care. As soon as something doesn't look right,
I am notified and interventions are made so her condition doesn't worsen. I am used to providing care myself, so I am happy that this is a great substitute.

The resident was treated with great dignity and care throughout his time at Victoria Care Centre. We could not have asked for a better level of care. We would gladly recommend Victoria Care Centre to other families. We were very comfortable leaving him in Victoria Care Centre's care.

It is always difficult to leave someone you care for in the hands of others. My experience here leads me to not have any concerns. I have always found the team on the third floor to be friendly, responsive to my concerns and caring in what is a particularly difficult health environment. I love also
the other staff i.e entertainment, reception and maintenance and found them to be very caring, welcoming and helpful.

My sister came to the home with specific needs, being 71, autistic, mental health problems etc, and requiring specialist feeding. The home was more than happy to have her. She has always treated Victoria Care Centre as her home, and now that she is receiving end of life care, the kindness and compassion
of the staff just shine through. They deserve every credit going. Thank you.

My mother has been at Victoria Care Centre, since September 2015. I have found their care during this time, very impressive and reassuring. When my mother was first admitted, she was weak and disorientated, but she became stronger over time thanks to the care she received. This year, she will have been
at Victoria Care Centre for seven years, which I think is a great testament to the care.

I love the activity at the home. I go to all group activities every day. The activity staff spends a lot of time with me on 1-1 as well. I have been at the home since 2017. I have made lots of friends with many staff. I am always treated with dignity and respect. I am our activities volunteer and I
enjoy being part of their team. The home has maintained my spiritual needs and I am also able to speak in my own language with many staff. I am very happy at my home. I have been at this home for 4 years.

We were very apprehensive at the start and initially, we had teething problems. These were promptly addressed by the management and the head nurse and dealt with quickly and professionally. The staff and especially the nurses are attentive and caring. Everyone from the activities team, housekeeping,
maintenance, reception and kitchen staff are accommodating and friendly. 'Keep up the good work'

What great staff my dear uncle arrived to when staying during the lockdown. The staff made him feel really welcome and kept me informed about everything that was happening. They made sure we had video calls as often as possible and went out of their way to make him feel welcome.

Since my uncle has been at the home, he has been well looked after and I am satisfied with the care that my uncle is receiving. Any issues for concern that I may have had, have been dealt with immediately and with the utmost sensitivity. My uncle was living in a sheltered accommodation before Victoria
Court and in between, he was admitted into the local Hospital for 10 weeks. During his stay at the hospital, his care was appalling he left the hospital, unable to ever walk again and had numerous bed sores on his rear and feet. On entering Victoria Care, these wounds, which were severe, were treated by the team and never occurred again. My uncle showed signs of some form of neglect in his behaviour before entering Victoria Court, he would shudder whenever anyone approached him and was very defensive. He no longer displays this behaviour and to my knowledge, has a great relationship with the staff and the staff have a good relationship with our family. Very few issues.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.728)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.728) out of 10 for Victoria Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.728 for Victoria Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (372 Excellents x 5) + (101 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 489 Ratings = 4.728
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Care Centre is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 115 registered maximum number of service users is 23, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
