Victoria care home is a lovely place. The staff are wonderful, it really is a nice and warm atmosphere. The overall care is very good and I would always recommend the care home to a friend/relative. My mother has been there from day one. Thank you for all that you have done.

My loving wife and mum of our only son is a resident at this home and has been for over one year, having an experience of staying on second floor as her Brain Cancer progressed. Staff always displayed compassion and kindness to her, ensuring her dignity was upheld and communicated with us as a family
in a professional manner. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, family visitors were always warmly greeted. They provided a good range of social and leisure activities and the environment both outdoors and indoors are always spotlessly clean. The meals provided are appetising food and staff would ensure any specific needs are met immediately. The true dedication, commitment, attention to detail and love and affection shown to my wife is simply outstanding! The facility implemented to allow visits during Covid-19 restrictions are superb and we are so grateful for this kindness. There are too many superb individuals to name in this review especially the manager and clinical lead. I am ever so grateful for holding us.

My ninety-nine-year-old great-grandmother was a resident at Victoria Care Centre last year. It was a difficult decision to place her in care but it was the only option at the time. This was worsened by the fact we were in the midst of the global pandemic and she was permitted no visitors. The excellent
level of care provided by the staff and the facilities at the home put our minds at rest. Her individual and unique needs were well catered to, including cultural food to meet her dietary preferences, as well as staff who could communicate in her language. The care was truly adapted to her lifestyle and made her stay feel like a home from home. The home also had in place special measures to ensure we could still stay in touch with her as best we could, through regular video calls and socially distanced visits via a specially designated screen. Fortunately, she is now more mobile and has been able to return home. The home truly contributed to her getting back on her feet to celebrate her one-hundredth birthday.

The care team make an effort to get to know residents and their needs. All staff are very approachable and friendly. They make an effort to get to know family members and keep them updated by various different means. The room is kept clean and is accommodating to the needs of my father. There is opportunities

This time last March, my darling mother passed away peacefully with my father at her side. But also with my father, were the wonderfully kind staff, who made sure she wasn’t alone even though they were under extreme pressure. We, three daughters, were not able to be there to say goodbye but I feel so
very grateful to all those lovely carers, the manager and the activities lady that kept her spirits up when she was down, that made her laugh and made her feel so safe and cared for and she was treated with such kindness and dignity right until the very end. Thank you so much, I will always remember what you did for my mother and my father.

I would highly recommend this care home. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the residents' needs are met with enthusiasm and kindness. My mother only had a short stay sadly, before her passing but everything was done to give her the best quality of life as possible. This care was extended to my father
also, helping with funeral arrangements and follow on phone calls to ensure he was coping on his own. We can’t thank everyone enough for their dedication and care.

I have always wanted to give my wife as much as control back as possible because she is fully dependent on others. This has instantly been made possible upon her arrival at Victoria Care Centre. I would definitely recommend this place in a heartbeat. When I leave her every day I know she is safe and
well cared for. I cannot thank the Deputy Manager and the team how much joy and happiness you have introduced back to my wife and my life. Thank you once again to the Deputy Manager.

We used Victoria Care Centre because the building was modern and very convenient for us to our home visiting, little traffic and parking to worry about. Close to doctors surgery and hospital if needed. The reception was good, staff was helpful and reliable always ready to help. As long as standard,
management and staff remain as now it is highly recommended.

My Mum has been in Victoria Care Centre in the dementia care unit for nearly two months now. My family and I are extremely happy that she is in such a happy and friendly environment. We have all found the place very welcoming, so much so, that we enjoy and look forward to coming to visit. The staff
are always so hardworking and busy, but always stop to interact with Mum and us. She is lovely and clean, well looked after and though she is hard to please with food, food is great overall. The service is exemplary.

My experience at Victoria Care Centre has been very good. The carers are outstanding and the service is excellent. The management is observant and the nurses are often quite busy attending to the patient seeing that they get good care. For example, when my finger got badly injured and I was in a lot
of pain. Two nurses, in particular, were very attentive to my finger and treated it well until the finger was healed.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.728)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.728) out of 10 for Victoria Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.728 for Victoria Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (372 Excellents x 5) + (101 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 489 Ratings = 4.728
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Care Centre is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 115 registered maximum number of service users is 23, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
