Mum seems very happy in her new home. If she is happy, so are we.
Mum has dementia, her particular needs seem to be well catered for. Whenever we visit the staff are welcoming, professional and caring.
Fremantle Court has exceeded our expectations.
Reply from Steph Palmer, Sales Team Manager at Fremantle CourtThank you so much for the 5-star review. We are so glad that your mum is very happy at Fremantle Court.

Very clean throughout the building. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we have asked staff about queries with regards to my mother-in-law we always get feedback and any concerns are dealt with in a very pleasant and helpful manner. The services offered are also very good, especially
the activities which my mother-in-law enjoys very much.
Reply from Steph Palmer, Sales Team Manager at Fremantle CourtThank you very much for your review, M T. We appreciate so many compliments and we are glad that your Mother-in-Law enjoys the activities so much.

My mother moved into Fremantle Court in November 2023 and settled in extremely well. December was jam-packed with activities. All staff are focused to make residents feel safe and happy. There are always welcoming smiles and laughter. As a visitor, I always feel at home and have every confidence that
the team will give mum support to enhance and understand her dementia needs. I would recommend this home. The layout is bright and sunny and doesn't feel like a care home. Very lucky to have found this on our doorstep.

Mum is very well cared for. The team are all aware of Mum's ways and preferences. There is a very warm and caring environment and feel to Fremantle Court. In her own world Mum seems calm and content. The team do a very difficult job very well.

Overall, a very comfortable care home. Pleasant staff, although frequent changes mean less familiarity with residents and their families.
It would be nice to hear some light music on the wing, in order to brighten the atmosphere.

There seems to be quite a turnover of staff on the wing.
Reply from Claire Waton, Home Manager at Fremantle CourtThank you for your comments, staff turnover is currently quite stable however we do have some carer vacancies which we are recruiting for at present which means that sometimes staff do not always work on the same wing. Please do come and see me to discuss further when you are next in to visit.

I feel some concern due to the lack of visible staff around the lounge/dining area in Waddesden wing, sometimes I have wanted to speak to someone but no one has been around. Also concerned that if the residents need help there will not be anyone there. However, when mum has needed help someone has been
there for her and are patient and caring. They have a good selection of activities.
Reply from Claire Watson, Home Manager at Fremantle CourtApologies you were not able to find a staff member on Friday morning when you visited, they were assisting another resident and one staff member was at the flash meeting. Please do come and see me next time you are in so we can discuss further. We care very much about our residents and their families here at Fremantle Court and want to ensure that you are receiving the best possible service.

I have found Fremantle Court to be a good home for my mum, who has advanced dementia. She has lived here for 18 months. The home is friendly and she has always been treated with warmth and compassion. Rooms are good, staff are kind, there is a very engaged activities team who work hard to engage all
the residents. The new management team are very active and accessible and it's clear that the home is in good hands. This is a good home.

The carers were extremely professional and used every skill and effort in looking after my wife. She was carefully supervised and supported, both mentally and physically and was made to feel as much at home as it was possible to do. They also showed great care and support for me and I was welcomed as
a friend and family member every time I visited. It was my home as well. They were not just carers, they were friends and family to my wife and myself.

The carers on Henley Wing could not be more devoted to the residents in their care, but they are spread thinly and understaffed. Especially at night when staff and security are called into question for both staff and residents.

Mum's first Christmas in Fremantle Court and first time ever not shared with the family because of Covid. However, the celebrations leading up to Christmas and the day itself was a triumph and nicely enjoyed. And staffing problems because of Covid were managed superbly and not noticed by mum. We're
so pleased and impressed by all aspects of Fremantle Court - the staff are second to none.

Generally good. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful, albeit a bit rushed at times. I found the entry system unduly restrictive although understandable due to covid. The staff seems to have a little difficulty communicating with my mother due to her deafness. Physiotherapy backup could be more extensive.
There are slight several difficulties caused by the differences between my mother's social-cultural background and those of the staff, for example, my mother like books and do not like sport/bingo.

The care and skill shown by the clinical head, home manager and staff on duty at Fremantle Court made my husband's last year more comfortable. Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.630)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.630) out of 10 for Fremantle Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.630 for Fremantle Court is calculated as follows: ( (195 Excellents x 5) + (75 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 284 Ratings = 4.63
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fremantle Court is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
