We lost my grandad a few years ago and my nan became very isolated and lonely. She then had a couple of falls and she could not be fully cared for at home so she moved to De Lucy House.
Since then, she has made wonderful friends, engaged in lots of different activities and we no longer have to worry about her being on her own. Seeing a smile back on her face is the best thing.
The staff go above and beyond to care for every single resident based on their individual needs.

Bedrooms are spacious and have en suites. Food is prepared fresh on site and the catering staff are more than happy to facilitate any special dietary needs. Lounges and kitchens are homely and cleanliness is maintained to the highest standards throughout the whole building. The manager is always willing to listen to any concerns and doesn't mind "getting her hands dirty". All staff are always very polite. Trips out and activities are provided daily regardless of residents' personal abilities. Dignity and respect is always maintained.

My father resided in the home from August 2017 to his death on October 27th 2018.

The home itself is well set out and kept clean, homely, welcoming and odourless - a big plus. It is welcoming to people at all stages of their older age and caters for the active and mentally agile as well as the infirm.

During the time that he lived in De Lucy House, my father gradually changed from being a functioning elderly man with the start of dementia to becoming extremely dependent. His death was expected but in the end sudden. Through all stages of his decline, my father was beautifully cared for and, indeed, there were times that I believed that his care was even better than I could have wished for.

The staff, at all times, were respectful and courteous. They did their best to encourage my father to extend himself within his limitations. They cared for all aspects of his well being. I could not have asked for a better place for my father to spend the end of his life.

My 93-year-old mother lives in her own home but is unable to use her own bath and fitting a wet room is not possible. She visits to have a bath in the home, where there are easy access baths and a carer to assist my mother in bathing, getting in and out of the bath etc. She is very happy with the professional and dignified way that she is looked after during her visits. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. After her bath, she relaxes with a cup of tea and some cake, before my sister or I pick her up. We would certainly recommend De Lucy House and should our mother require residential care in the future, De Lucy House would be our first choice of home for her.

Everything overall seems to be of a very high standard, it is, however, evident that staff are stretched - I feel there needs to be more available. My aunt seems to have to wait a very long time (understandably) when she pushes the 'call' bell.

I regularly visit my Mum at De Lucy House and am reassured of the care and attention given to her and fellow residents. Recent additions, like the sensory room, add to the different experiences offered. The weekly activities are numerous, cater for all residents and are a credit the activities head. My Mum enjoys the singing and the pat the dog sessions.

She always has a smile on her face when I visit, all the staff are very attentive and make you feel welcome. The building is well maintained and I would recommend to anyone considering it as a choice.

My wife and I visited my sister yesterday to celebrate her 90th birthday although we were a day late for the occasion. We are extremely happy with all the care and attention she is receiving, and so is she. All of the staff are so helpful and we are very pleased to not have to worry about her. She is very appreciative of all the activities that are laid on for the residents and says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We were very grateful for the excellent lunch provided after travelling quite a long journey. Fortunately, we have other relatives that are nearer and can visit more frequently.

During my latest visit to see my father, I was pleased to see that the standard of care he was receiving continued to be of a high level. The staff have time to look after the residents, or sit and chat to them as needed, as well as performing all their normal duties.
The management staff are always happy to discuss my father's care without me feeling that I am impinging on their time.

I am very pleased with how my father is being looked after.

De Lucy House is a really positive place and is a pleasure to visit. The facilities,m environment and feel of the place are all wonderful. However, the obvious pride in the work which is done and the standard of care from all the staff I have encountered are the most important and satisfying aspects for me. I can now relax a bit and feel confident my Mother is receiving the excellent care she deserves. Thank you De Lucy House.

My mother in law has been a resident of De Lucy House for just under a year. She will tell everyone she sees that it is a lovely place. She says that the staff are very caring and are always popping in to see her. She enjoys the meals and tells everyone she has the best room in the house with the views over the golf course.

From our point of view, we find that the care that she receives is absolutely first class. The facilities are modern and the decor is bright and needful. The residents are able to stroll in the gardens, take part in the many activities organised for them and social events. The communication with the staff is excellent. Although my mother in law is entering into the dementia stage, the staff are very understanding and kind. She has made friends and really enjoys the contact with others on a daily basis.

The saying is "there's no place like home" and I agree but De Lucy House is the next best thing.
I have now been here for 18 months and apart from the initial trauma of leaving my home, I have enjoyed every day. Because it is a new build, we have every facility i.e hair salon, cinema room and library. Our excellent team of activities ladies keep us on our toes with chair exercises, film shows and trips out in the recently acquired minibus, even a day on the Norfolk Broads.
We have 4 units each with 15 residents and each unit has its own dining room. Our carers, who are second to none, serve the meals and although not "silver service" trained, do their best. Meals are cooked on the premises and vary in quantity and quality but on the whole, there are few complaints.
In no way can I fault the 24hours care, although it does take some little while at busy times for carers to answer our bells.

Overall, no complaints, we are safe, warm and well looked after in this family atmosphere.

My Mum has been in De Lucy now for 10 Months. I knew I had to make that very difficult decision although it turned my life upside down knowing that I could no longer care for my Mum at home. But now I can honestly say my Mum is enjoying her life and the company there. She can now make choices and is in control of her life thanks to the marvellous and dedicated caring staff. The staff have always been there for me and have been very supportive in many ways and I am truly grateful to each and every one of you for making my Mum's life a happier one! The door is always open at De Lucy for support, advice and always a warm welcome.

A BIG THANK YOU to you all.

Exceptional. Mum lived here for two years and she did just that - lived! Over time, she lost her entire physical capacity but, her friends at De Lucy looked after her every need with complete dignity, respect and love.
Nothing is too much trouble for those who work here. It is clean, tidy and very well maintained and, in Mum's words 'like a hotel'! She loved the place, she adored the staff and they, in turn, loved her.
The range of activities and the people who arrange them are second to none. It is somewhere everybody is encouraged but, never forced, to join in, relatives included. It is a place to call home and a place where everyone is made to feel part of the family. Recent events put the staff under a lot of pressure but, under the exceptional leadership of the Deputy Manager and Care Manager, the home continued to be the happy home its residents know, standards maintained throughout.
Is it perfect? No, these people are human beings.

Is it an amazing place to live? Yes.

I cannot find fault in De Lucy House at all. They took care of my mother right up to her death on 2.2.2018 when she died in the N&N hospital. All the carers were incredibly kind and attentive to her needs and supported her deterioration with dignity and respect. It is a lovely place, with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere but great attention to detail and totally professional in all respects.

De Lucy House is an exceptional organization, managed and staffed by amazing people who are the fabric of the most dedicated care home I have encountered. My godmother for whom I have actively cared for the last ten years had been in residential homes for the past four years but nothing compares to the passionate care with which she was treated at De Lucy House. The beautiful appointments would be nothing without the team who give their heart and soul to the often demanding job of caring for frail elderly residents. Nothing has been too much from having to overcome the language barrier to the amazing palliative care in the last few days of her life. We should be lucky to be able to avail ourselves of a room at that amazing place in our hour of need. The Eden values are applied in the care of each resident, respecting their individuality and pre-emptying all their needs. The activities are offered to all and make up the beating heart of this great place, always cheerful, upbeat and inclusive.

The care provided by the De Lucy House is consistently kind and compassionate and the energy they put into providing wide a range of activities and fun for the residents is incredible. The home is split into four areas each with its own lounge, dining room and conservatory which makes it a comfortable size for my father who suffers from dementia. The design of the resident's rooms are excellent and the quality of the catering, laundry and housekeeping is a very high standard.

It doesn't matter what time of day I visit I always find the atmosphere is calm with lots of laughter during the activities.

My mam has been a resident for the last six months. I have to say Mam loves it at De Lucy House. As an outdoor person she loves the gardening, the outings to various locations that are active, also Football matches, watching films, a decent hairdresser on site, going shopping. What more can I say, the staff are brilliant always smiley and bubbly. Also if anything is wrong with mam they are on hand as soon as possible. I used to feel guilty leaving my mam, now I don't, that is because she is happy and well looked after. Just like to say thank you De Lucy House for a brilliant job.

We were delighted when De Lucy House accepted my stepfather. It was very new and purpose built and also close to visit. The staff, without exception, from the young carers, cleaner, laundry, kitchen, all accepted and acknowledged him although he had dementia. They brought the best out in everyone. The activity staff worked tirelessly keeping them all stimulated. The food was lovely and well cooked with a good variety.

The manager and her management team were first class right down to the maintenance team. My stepfather was there a short time, unfortunately, but they brought the best out in him and made his last weeks, very pleasant.

My mum was only in the care of De Lucy House for about six weeks and having seen the care first hand I am only sorry that we could not persuade her to have gone into care there earlier (she was fiercely independent!) sadly her cancer had returned and she declined very rapidly but was looked after with much kindness, dignity and respect.
