I write to express how much I appreciated all the care and support given at end of life. This was both for my dying friend and for me. The dignity with which she was treated to prepare her to leave her home was exemplary. She left the building with staff standing quietly to bid her goodbye. It was profoundly moving and illustrates well how this lovely home loves, respects and cares for its residents.

My mother spent the last three months of her life at De Lucy House Care Home. Her condition deteriorated fast but throughout she was treated with dignity and kindness by the staff. It was a very difficult time for the family as visiting was restricted but we were always able to speak to members of staff on days we couldn't see Mum. Even in a short time we got to know them well and they would go out of their way to make Mum comfortable and happy. When well enough she particularly enjoyed visits to the coffee lounge and the hairdresser.
At the end, their care and kindness to Mum (and my sister and I) were exemplary. We are so thankful that she had high quality, 24-hour care and was not alone when we couldn't be there.

It is a team effort. The receptionists, the maintenance staff, the cleaners (the home is always spotless), caterers as well as the carers and the management work together to provide a friendly atmosphere and a real home for the residents.

As a family, we are always impressed with the courtesy and speed with which our enquiries have been dealt with.
The staff provide a warm welcoming atmosphere to everyone, they are always kind, considerate and go the extra mile. The health and happiness of every resident is their prime concern.

We are very much looking forward to the care home being able to open their doors so that the families and friends will be able to share in the De Lucy House experience!

All the staff from the manager down work as a cohesive team with the care of the residents at the heart of all that they do.

The way that they have managed everything during Covid has been exemplary, keeping relatives fully informed throughout.

Mum has been in De Lucy House for over two years and is comfortable, she regards it as home. It has been challenging for everyone over the last year but her wellbeing has always been in the forefront. The activities have started again but even before the staff always motivated all to do whatever they could.

My mum has been a resident at this home for several years and the care she receives is always excellent. The staff are just amazing, always cheerful, polite and helpful. During Covid they have been absolutely outstanding and gone above and beyond to care for the residents and relatives needs during an extremely difficult time for us all.

My mum came to the care home in December 2020. Despite the restrictions and challenges faced over these months, I have been impressed by the care given to my mum and the protocols employed for window/face to face visits. All staff encountered remotely or in-person have been friendly and professional. It is a great comfort knowing that Mum is in a safe place and extremely well cared for.

After being part of the De Lucy House family for over 3 years my dad recently passed away. For all of that time his care has been exemplary and the kindness, love and respect he received at the end of his life meant so very much to us as a family. The staff helped him get the very best from his final years, despite living with the increasing challenges of dementia, taking the time to share his pleasures and to include him in new activities. In the past year their dedication to keeping the residents safe, while keeping families in touch as much as possible, and still finding fun and joy in each day, has been remarkable. As a family we feel very lucky to have found De Lucy and send them all our heartfelt thanks. We have no hesitation in recommending this exceptional home.

My mum has recently passed away after living at De Lucy for the past 10 months. I wanted to write this review as a thank you to all the staff and carers at De Lucy for the wonderful care they gave my mum while in the home. Their care and compassion and their patience were limitless. They would always try to involve her in activities but were equally happy for her to sit quietly in the conservatory where she could look out on the gardens. I know they made my mum's life as happy as possible and at the end, they did everything to make her passing as comfortable and pain-free as possible, even to sitting with her holding her hand so she was not alone at the end. Thank you everyone.

My mum and dad spent the final 16 months of their lives as part of the De Lucy House family. During that time they were treated with respect, kindness and love. All of the staff work as a team and the residents, and their families, are at the heart of everything that is done. De Lucy House is a special place and so are the people who work there. The building is light, bright and beautifully furnished. The team are constantly looking at how the environment both inside and outside can be improved to make the residents feel more comfortable and at home. The food is freshly cooked on-site and snacks are always available. The activities are varied and plentiful and truly enrich their lives. I miss my visits to De Lucy House – l miss the residents, their families and most of all the staff. You will always be a part of my extended family, thank you for your love, support and compassion.

I am very impressed with the care my Dad has received. He is treated with the utmost respect by all of the staff. His room is very pleasant, the facilities are excellent and the service is first class. The quality of the catering is very high, with home-cooked meals available and also special meals or snacks if requested. My Dad is very relaxed and happy there and says that it is excellent. Everyone seems genuinely very caring. Thank you.

My mother has been at De Lucy House since May 2019, the quality of care at the home is outstanding. All staff are very caring and always have time for the residents. The Manager is fantastic, always has time to speak to relatives and is always hands-on when needed. I couldn’t recommend De Lucy enough especially after experiencing another home in the area. You won’t find a better run home in the area than De Lucy.

My mother has been here for 18 months and absolutely loves it. She has dementia which is worsening but all the staff treat her with respect and dignity. There is a lovely family atmosphere at De Lucy House and it is always a very happy place to be. The range and quality of food is very good and nothing is too much trouble. There are lots of activities and trips out for the residents. All the staff are very caring and approachable. Nowhere is perfect in this day and age but this is the best care home I've seen.

Any problems or concerns I have are dealt with quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend De Lucy House. Well done to the manager and all the team.

De Lucy House is such a special place, our Grandmother was a resident for the final year of her life after living independently for over 100years. The atmosphere is so positive and warm, De Lucy House is a place for living and thriving, not just existing. The staff are so loving and caring, the attention to detail and the effort made to provide a wonderful home for the residents is outstanding. Our Grandmothers wishes were taken into account and her care was beautifully and tenderly catered for around her needs. She truly flourished in the care of the staff and the surroundings. As regular visitors, we were always welcomed with a smile and towards to end of her life, we appreciated the chance to discuss plans for her care gently and kindly with the staff.

I honestly cannot fault a single thing and can only praise the staff and the home for providing outstanding care. Thank you so much we will always appreciate it, Nannys final year was a gift and it was wonderful to see her so happy.

I don't know much about dad's routine at De Lucy House as sadly he doesn't remember so I am pleased to see him active and happy in photos of events going on at the home. However, I do know that he is cared for in a warm, safe and comfortable environment by very friendly, helpful and cheerful staff for which my brother and I are very appreciative of.
