My father died in De Lucy House at the end of August; he had lived there for seven years. De Lucy House had always cared wonderfully for Dad. In his last week of life and his death, he was shown love, care, dignity and respect. All staff involved worked so, so hard, above and beyond. They respected
the wishes of the family and they supported us throughout with the same care and love they showed Dad. Thank you.

My friend's care at De Lucy House is above and beyond exceptional. My friend is a very private person, and the staff respect that. They ensure her needs are met, nothing is too much trouble for them. She has a beautiful room overlooking the gardens, which are looked after by the fantastic domestic team.
Coming to De Lucy House for a few years was a big decision for her, but as she often reminds me, she has never looked back!

Mum continues to receive an excellent standard of care. Staff know her well and I have always observed them to be kind and friendly towards her. I too have found all members of staff to be supportive towards me and my family members, which is much valued. I find this is a very well-run home, led admirably
by the manager, who ensures the needs of her residents come first. Staff, family and residents work in partnership.

From our first contact via email to our most recent visit, De Lucy House and all the staff have been amazing, welcoming, friendly, so knowledgeable about dementia and memory loss and reassuring. Nothing is too much trouble.
De Lucy House is a home from home and as soon as we walked in we knew that
this was the perfect place for Dad.
I really can’t tell you our sense of relief at finding De Lucy House and I really can’t sing their praises enough.

My mum and I have been delighted with every element of De Lucy House. It is very homely and welcoming, with beautiful, clean, well-kept rooms and communal areas. The staff at all levels have been fantastic, always kind, cheerful and friendly and supporting my Mum with her physio as well as day-to-day
care. My family are always welcome and visits to my Mum are further enhanced by this. Meals, drinks and snacks are high quality and the home put on a fantastic afternoon tea for my family and Mum when we celebrated her 80th birthday. We couldn't ask for more!

I have always found everyone really helpful and very friendly. There is usually someone to speak to if I have questions or concerns and if not I have been able to phone and speak to someone. I have found the annual reviews informative and helpful. I have witnessed staff being kind, respectful and responsive
to my mother's needs every time I visit.

My dad has been at De Lucy House for nearly a month and has been in hospital following a fall and breaking his hip for eleven weeks. At 90 years old, he had lived independently with my mum in their own bungalow, but it became obvious that he wasn't going to be able to return home and live safely anymore.
Without the help of the manager, I don't think I could've coped much longer trying to deal with Social Services and the hospital discharge team. She made the whole process much less stressful and could not have been kinder. Dad has settled really well in his very nice room and is getting the very best of care. He says how lovely the food is and how well all the staff look after him. I will be forever grateful to all the De Lucy team for making my dad feel safe and well cared for and in the best place -only five minutes down the road. Thank you.

We have been impressed by the support offered - visits to the home prior to staying and visits to the resident prior to going into the home etc. The appearance of the home has always been clean and tidy. Our neighbour has settled well, no doubt partly due to the care of the staff. Activities seem planned
with carers in attendance, encouraging the participation of residents. The financial side was dealt with efficiently. Thanks to all the staff.

One day I was late visiting my mother. She was tearful as she is now more emotional following her stroke. When I arrived, a nurse was sitting in the lounge with her, comforting her. The creed of the Care Home, which this nurse was living by, is to treat the residents as if they are your own family.
The nurse spent time with her, because the Home is very well staffed, and also not understaffed, she could spare the time and it was embedded. My mother has trouble with her very basic mobile phone and the receptionist and staff are always quick to sort the problem out. I remember my mother being in the N and N Hospital following her stroke, she felt abandoned because of Covid restrictions. Before that she lived in a village with friends dropping in. This Home has given her the companionship that she had lost. They have trips out, entertainment, and numerous lounges. On a practical note the Diss railway station is a short walk away. I feel very fortunate that my mother is in this Care Home.

I write to express how much I appreciated all the care and support given at end of life. This was both for my dying friend and for me. The dignity with which she was treated to prepare her to leave her home was exemplary. She left the building with staff standing quietly to bid her goodbye. It was profoundly
moving and illustrates well how this lovely home loves, respects and cares for its residents.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.869)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.869) out of 10 for De Lucy House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for De Lucy House is calculated as follows: ( (206 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for De Lucy House is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
