Overall Experience
This is my Mum's second visit to Anya Court. On both occasions she needed care for a period of 6-7 weeks, whilst convalescing from a fall and then an operation.

My overall impression is that Anya is more like a boutique hotel than a care home. All of the staff are absolutely fantastic. Their care and attentive nature are second to none. Everyone has a smile on their face and always have time for both the resident and any visitors.

My first impression of the rooms and facilities was very good. The rooms are very nicely decorated and furnished. All of the staff were always very cheerful, approachable and also obliging. My mum was made very welcome which helped her to settle in quickly. The fact that my mum enjoyed her stay and would go again for respite care just says it all!!

Review from Caroline S (Cousin of Resident) published on 5 October 2015 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

We have over the last three years been caring for my father's cousin giving her care and protection so she was able to remain in her own home. This summer she fell ill and was admitted to hospital. We were then informed four days before we were due to fly to Australia that she was being discharged. My mother is a resident at Anya Court and as we are familiar with the excellent standard of care there as well as knowing the staff we asked if my cousin could be admitted tot he nursing floor. Knowing our time schedule the staff helped us with the documentation and welcomed my cousin when we were well on our journey. I had high hopes that she would still be in the home when we returned but it was not to be. Our two daughters visited on a daily basis and they cannot speak highly of all the care and help they received at this difficult time, as they were guided through the complexities of a bereavement. My cousin slipped away peacefully surrounded by love.

The staff have been kind and thoughtful and have dealt with problems quickly. They have been flexible to the needs of my two relatives to keep them safe and happy. There are plenty of varied activities in the home. The rooms are well equipped but rather small. My relatives would enjoy more outings if they were available.

First impressions were excellent and having seen many facilities I was not sure whether my impressions would continue, but they did. My dad looks very well, relaxed and cared for. Being able to continue to have his own room (lovely) space in his room I important for dad, but equally he is able (but maybe not always willing) to partake in the varied and interesting activity programme. The home is well kept, clean (doesn't smell of urine!) and welcoming. The staff are lovely and seem genuinely happy in their choice of work.

My mother went into Anya Court for respite care and has been so well looked after she has stayed. The staff are exceptional, from welcoming receptionists to the caring carers, nothing is too much trouble. There is always a happy atmosphere. The food is well presented with homemade cakes and biscuits available to visitors at all times of day in the Juke Box Café. The garden is a lovely area to walk round or relax in giving the place a homely community feel. This is a high quality care home which excels with "care".

All good. My mother in law moved into Anya Court in January this year, during that last 8 months she has flourished with the care and attention she has received, and of late the social activities taking part in the home have given her renewed interest and improved her social well being.

My mother-in-law went in for respite for two weeks while we were abroad on holiday. The staff were marvellous, food, room and everything was perfect, couldn't fault it at all. I know she was in safe hands. It was definitely like a 5 star hotel to my mother-in-law and a perfect holiday for her in every way.

I have been looked after extremely well. The staff are very kind and helpful in every way. The food is lovely and well cooked and presented no complaints at all. Whatever you want it's no trouble. I would certainly come in again when my family are on holiday. Plenty to do if you want to join in. The only thing I didn't like are the storage heaters I much prefer ordinary radiators with thermostat, which can be switched up if you feel chilly.
