Located opposite the beautiful Burton Waters Marina, this purpose-built home offers stunning views of the boats and yachts on show as well as the Lincolnshire countryside, and the gardens are extensive and tranquil.

The home offers a relaxed environment to all including those individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

I have the pleasure of visiting one of your residents on a weekly basis and also a couple of other friends who were staying with you for a week to recover from an operation.


My personal experience was and is very positive. My friends are always in a happy mood and this reflects how comfortable they

are. I love the friendly atmosphere I feel in every visit and also to see other residents having fun with activities for their ability.

Sadly Tennyson Wharf is very smart but doesn't quite deliver. My father complained of being cold overnight and decided to combat the problem by keeping his clothes on. Why wasn't this solved by turning up the heating and/or using more bedding? We tried ringing him and were told he'd phone back - it
never happened. There was more but the above demonstrates the problem.

If all care were as good as this there would never be any bed blocking again. My wife spent her last days at Tennyson Wharf and I could not praise the staff highly enough. From the boss to the domestic staff they were all superb. They all offered to help and were always pleasant and cheerful.

but worth every penny.

Tennyson Wharf is an extremely good care home that benefits from an outstanding location by the Birton Waters. The care staff are very friendly and as a visitor, on a regular basis (3-4 times a week) I have been made to feel like one of the family. Sadly Mum doesn't take advantage of the many activities
offered but she is treated with dignity and endless patience by those caring for her.

The care home is expensive, sometimes there don't seem to be enough staff to justify the money. But all staff are without exception friendly and competent.
Occasionally messages don't get passed on, e.g. about taking residents out.
Sometimes the cleanliness of the bathroom and bedroom are not quite
up to standard.
Activities staff do their best, perhaps not always tailoring to individual residents competencies and wishes. More trips out would be good.

Since moving my client to Tennyson Wharf Care Home I've noticed a marked change in her mood and health. The care staff are always on hand and regularly check if she needs anything. The choice of activities are brilliant to keep her engaged. My only concern is that often other residents enter her room
without asking.

I came here for two weeks respite care, following the death of my husband and dealing with all of the inevitable paperwork.


It has been a peaceful and happy break.


The staff are pleasant and helpful and as I am not just old, but ancient, makes life more of a pleasure.

The home is very clean and modern, most of the staff are friendly but sorry so many have left.


All rooms are large and very comfortable and most of the meals look very good.


The only thing is the price - very expensive.

Staff are excellent with a lovely location. I think the home is a fantastic place to be. It is like living in a 5-star hotel. I would book myself into it to be looked after!

Since my mother's admission (22 months ago) she has been cared for extremely well. The staff are professional and very caring. Above and beyond my/the family's expectations since mum became a resident earlier in the year.
It could easily be compared to a 5-star hotel with full board and assisted service.
Why can't the rest of the care industry aspire for an equivalent standard to give everyone in this situation the quality

All the staff at Tennyson Wharf are kind, compassionate, amiable and supportive. Every effort is made to ensure the dignity and safety of residents. Care of a dearly loved husband could never be the same as if he were still at home looked after and cared for by loving family but this must be the very
best next thing. The staff and management are at pains to support both the residents and the family and I'm assured it will become my second home too.

My husband moved to Tennyson Wharf after being in hospital with a serious stroke which he had 27th Dec 16. The hospital just kept him "bed bound" all day long and he never progressed mentally or physically. Since he has been at Tennyson Wharf you can see he is more comfortable and because of this he
is progressing (albeit slowly). He is being hoisted out into his wheelchair and/or recliner chair when he wants to. He now sits and plays dominoes, is writing and reading and is so happy with the regular staff. (Thumbs up every time they come in or go out). All the staff are so very friendly towards him and myself which all contributes to his self-esteem which was very low when he arrived at Tennyson Wharf. I am hoping for a really positive outcome. Before Tennyson Wharf we were all losing hope.

I am very happy with the care my aunt receives. The staff are efficient, professional and well mannered whilst also being lovely, gentle and caring. My aunt is very happy and settled and I have the knowledge that she is safe and well cared for by all staff.

Hello, I am Sarah Noutch, General Manager at Tennyson Wharf. I first registered as a nurse in 2003. I began my career in the NHS working in the medical division. I came to Tennyson Wharf having worked at Barchester’s Lancaster Grange care home as General Manager.


I am passionate about delivering good quality, personalised care. This is reflected within the fantastic team we have here at Tennyson Wharf. I am always available for a coffee and a chat and welcome you to meet our care team and view our home.

Tracie Roberts

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2015

Tracie began her career within the care industry around 13 years ago when she began working in the community where she worked as a Senior Carer, then a Team Leader for Age UK.


Tracie decided she would like a change in her career and work in a care home where she joined the team at Tennyson Wharf in 2015, just 2 months after it opened. She really enjoys her role as Deputy Manager, working alongside Sarah to support our magnificent team and residents.

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2022

Karen joined Tennyson Wharf in April 2022 as the home`s Administrator. Previously Karen worked for another care provider for 20 years so comes with tons of experience.


Karen enjoys being able to help and support people and is pleased to be able to do this as part of her job role at Tennyson Wharf and gets satisfaction from being able to offer help to the lovely residents and their families with anything relating to finances or administration as well as interacting with our residents on a daily basis to make their lives more enjoyable.


In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family going for long walks with her dog. Karen also likes travelling and holidays especially to the Greek Islands, Skiathos and Zakynthos being 2 of her favourite destinations to date.

Dawn

Dawn Bailey

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2014

Dawn is our Head Chef who joins the team here at Tennyson Wharf with a wealth of catering experience.


Dawn was military-trained and latterly worked in the RAF as a Chef. She is passionate about delivering freshly prepared, nutritious meals with a person-centred approach.


In her spare time, Dawn enjoys keeping fit by running and visiting the gym, and she also has a young family to keep her busy.

Andrew

Andrew Nevard

Job Title: Head of Maintenance Joined: 2023

Andrew joined the Tennyson Wharf family in February 2023.


He has over 30+ years of experience working in Maintenance within the Hotel industry but decided he wanted a change.


Andrew is settling into his role at Tennyson Wharf very well and nothing is too much trouble. He has a passion for helping others and loves engaging with our residents and staff.


In his spare time, Andrew is a lover of the outdoors and walking.

Michelle

Michelle Williams

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2017

Michelle has had extensive years of experience in the cleaning industry before coming to join the Tennyson Wharf team as a care assistant for 3 years, before taking on the role of head of housekeeping in July 2021.


Michelle loves to ensure the home is kept clean for our residents and their relatives to enjoy when they come to visit. Her favourite part of her job is working alongside a great team and spending time with the residents, learning about their lives and what is important to them.
