Dad has lived at Britten Court for the past sixteen months. He arrived there from hospital and they have rehabilitated him following a broken hip and covid. He was so poorly when he arrived there. They have looked after him wonderfully well and he is now so much better. The staff are so caring and look after the residents with dignity, understanding and kindness. He has been encouraged to take up new hobbies, which he thoroughly enjoys. He has chosen to stay permanently. We are both happy with his care.

I find the staff provide good hygiene for my mother. There are never any unpleasant smells in the room. She is regularly assessed for care needs, her nutrition is regulated using her weight.

The staff are friendly and caring and on the whole, she is very well cared for.

I had my mum as a resident at Britten Court until the beginning of February this year, when she passed away. The staff were friendly, providing good care for my mum. Professional management team are always ready to help and listen to us as relatives. Overall, a great home.

Excellent home with a friendly atmosphere. Staff work extremely hard to make the residence feel at home. Nothing is too much for them.

I've been visiting my dear friend here for a couple of years. I have to say it is the best care home she could be in. What a lovely, caring, friendly place it is. Definitely one of the top ones I've been to.

MMy friend and I visit our friend; a resident here at Britten Court weekly. It is a real pleasure to visit. We are able to escort our friend to an open area for coffee and cake away from the secure wing where she resides.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, there is a community spirit and a family feel. The home is open, airy and light. The staff are kind, I would be extremely happy for a member of my family to live here and receive excellent care.

Sadly my Mum passed away on 20/3/19 but the care she received from all members of staff on Lighthouse was exemplary on all counts. We, as a family, could not have asked for any more from any of the staff. Also, the care that was shown to my sister and I was very kind and caring during such a difficult time. The home's manager is doing a great job. Very many thanks to them all.

Mum had a fall and broke her wrist in a couple of places so she has needed extra help with everything. Also, the staff have been a great help with mum's hospital visits. All the staff are caring, happy and always very willing to assist in any way and I'm glad that mum is a resident of Britten Court.

Mum did not want to go into care but became poorly. Her best friend is her little dog. After seeing how upset she became at the thought of losing her home and beloved pet the manageress said they would take both of them. They have both settled in now, and as a son I know she is happier with her dog there. I feel she is getting the best care and her dog is now a bit of a star at Britten Court. Thanks everyone for making Mum and pet feel welcome. Form management, chef's cleaners and carers. Thank you.

My brother-in-law has been in Britten Court Care Home since 3rd November 2018 and we find the care he is receiving is second to none. The home is spotless and staff very efficient, friendly and caring. The food is excellent and the chef and catering staff are very obliging. The carers not only care, but go out of their way to provide entertainment for the residents.

My mother entered care with Britten Court care home late 2018. During this time I have found the quality of care outstanding. The friendliness and consideration of staff at every level has enabled me to feel that my mother is safe and cared for medically and professionally, leaving me with no more fears for her overall well being.

My mother was at Britten Court until her passing. She was treated very well and we were made to feel like family. When she passed away the home did a guard of honour and the Manager and Deputy Manager held the doors and I was so touched by this. We couldn't have asked for more.

Chloe Swarbrick
Chloe SwarbrickJob Title:Home Manager

I originally began working for Care UK when it took over the running of various homes operated by Suffolk County Council. The organisation truly puts residents at the heart of everything, which I completely support. It’s also very supportive as an employer – as a manager I have a great support network to help me do my job to the highest standards.

I enjoy mornings the most at Britten Court: many residents are up and about and I can spend time with them, having a chat and finding out how they plan to spend their day. I’m privileged to work with some wonderful residents and families, including some people we’ve been supporting for a long time because they transferred from the old Council-run homes as I did!

Outside of work, I have a very busy home life. I’ve three children and eight grandchildren who I love spending time with.
