Britten Court Care Home is outstanding, friendly and caring staff that will do everything they can to make sure that the residents are comfortable and well cared for. Faultless!

I have been visiting Britten Court now since March. I've always been pleased with all staff in there, greeted with a smile and hello by everyone. It is always so spotlessly clean and welcoming. From the entrance to whatever unit you go into it's the same. We even had a party in there for my friend's 80th and the food and care were really good, all gas said how great it was.

My husband was treated with extreme care and dignity, especially during the final months of his life. My daughter and I have nothing but praise for everyone at Britten Court.

The home supported my mother through her last months of dementia. It was excellent, above all because they saw my mum as an individual and took time to understand her. They also saw the job as helping the family come to terms with transitioning from life to death. A clear vision translated into a culture of support, excellent facility and a real commitment to the family. One member of staff, in particular, epitomised this.

I always feel welcome whether on the phone or in person. Regular updates on Mum is appreciated and pictures on social media are welcome as not able to visit as much as I would like, more importantly, I feel Mum is happy and well cared for.

Thank you all.

I have visited 4 times with my friend and find the staff very friendly. The home is very clean and has a lovely atmosphere.

The residents are usually doing activities when I visit and I especially enjoyed the Elvis impersonator one time.

It was nice to hear about the kitchen getting a five-star rating. It is due to the people who look after the place for the people who live there and the people who come to visit. Well done to you all.

I was nervous about leaving the hospital to come here to this care home, but I should not have been. From the moment I was taken to my room, the care from the staff, "all of them", has been 10/10. The food has been good! And they have watched me put on "lbs" and reach a goal, ready to go home. I will miss my friends! But will be back to visit them.

My mother spent the last 20 months of her life in Britten Court Care Home. She went in during covid, so we were especially anxious about our decision, but Britten Court staff, from the person on the phone to the close carers, totally put our minds at rest. Mum had dementia, so did often express a wish to be at home, but she was happy joining in musical activities and visits from young children. I'd have no hesitation to recommend Britten Court to others.

My wife spent eighteen months in Britten Court Care Home and during that time and despite the extra work involved from Covid, the staff treated everyone with the utmost care, attention and with a smile. My wife was always praising those that looked after her, including the chef especially, which is something she never did at home! The atmosphere they created was like a big family. My daughter and I were kept fully aware of all events affecting my wife, particularly in her last few weeks of life. The standard of Britten Court is such that it should be highlighted as an example to be followed by other care companies.

My mother stayed within your care for 2.5 years and passes away on 27th September. During Mum's stay, she was treated with respect and dignity at all times. The staff were kind, friendly and approachable. If Mum needed anything, the staff were always on hand and during covid 19 the home was closed to visit, which was a very difficult time for everyone. The manager ensured family still had connections with their loved ones via video calls, on one to ones or resident family meetings via video call. It was the best thing for the residents, I cannot express enough how thankful I am to you all.

My mother was a resident of Britten Court for eight years and passed away in June 2022. She loved her time at Britten Court and flourished in the family atmosphere so lovingly created by the manager and staff. She was always surrounded by love and kindness and supported through the good and sometimes sad times and the turmoil of the pandemic. As Mum made her final journey, she was surrounded by and given a level of care, support and love which was utterly exceptional. A privilege to witness and something we as a family will never forget. We would also like to thank Britten Court for the support given to our family throughout the past eight years and especially during the final week of her life. We are so grateful for the contribution Britten Court made to our mum's life.

I am visiting from Australia to visit my mother who is suffering from Dementia. The purpose of my visit is to also secure a home with the assistance of my sister that would treat her with dignity and provide her with the level of care she now requires. I could not have found a better place than Britten Court and can travel home secure that she is well looked after.

Chloe Swarbrick
Chloe SwarbrickJob Title:Home Manager

I originally began working for Care UK when it took over the running of various homes operated by Suffolk County Council. The organisation truly puts residents at the heart of everything, which I completely support. It’s also very supportive as an employer – as a manager I have a great support network to help me do my job to the highest standards.

I enjoy mornings the most at Britten Court: many residents are up and about and I can spend time with them, having a chat and finding out how they plan to spend their day. I’m privileged to work with some wonderful residents and families, including some people we’ve been supporting for a long time because they transferred from the old Council-run homes as I did!

Outside of work, I have a very busy home life. I’ve three children and eight grandchildren who I love spending time with.
