I was nervous about leaving the hospital to come here to this care home, but I should not have been. From the moment I was taken to my room, the care from the staff, "all of them", has been 10/10. The food has been good! And they have watched me put on "lbs" and reach a goal, ready to go home. I will
miss my friends! But will be back to visit them.

My mother spent the last 20 months of her life in Britten Court Care Home. She went in during covid, so we were especially anxious about our decision, but Britten Court staff, from the person on the phone to the close carers, totally put our minds at rest. Mum had dementia, so did often express a wish
to be at home, but she was happy joining in musical activities and visits from young children. I'd have no hesitation to recommend Britten Court to others.

My wife spent eighteen months in Britten Court Care Home and during that time and despite the extra work involved from Covid, the staff treated everyone with the utmost care, attention and with a smile. My wife was always praising those that looked after her, including the chef especially, which is
something she never did at home! The atmosphere they created was like a big family. My daughter and I were kept fully aware of all events affecting my wife, particularly in her last few weeks of life. The standard of Britten Court is such that it should be highlighted as an example to be followed by other care companies.

My mother stayed within your care for 2.5 years and passes away on 27th September. During Mum's stay, she was treated with respect and dignity at all times. The staff were kind, friendly and approachable. If Mum needed anything, the staff were always on hand and during covid 19 the home was closed to
visit, which was a very difficult time for everyone. The manager ensured family still had connections with their loved ones via video calls, on one to ones or resident family meetings via video call. It was the best thing for the residents, I cannot express enough how thankful I am to you all.

My mother was a resident of Britten Court for eight years and passed away in June 2022. She loved her time at Britten Court and flourished in the family atmosphere so lovingly created by the manager and staff. She was always surrounded by love and kindness and supported through the good and sometimes
sad times and the turmoil of the pandemic. As Mum made her final journey, she was surrounded by and given a level of care, support and love which was utterly exceptional. A privilege to witness and something we as a family will never forget. We would also like to thank Britten Court for the support given to our family throughout the past eight years and especially during the final week of her life. We are so grateful for the contribution Britten Court made to our mum's life.

I am visiting from Australia to visit my mother who is suffering from Dementia. The purpose of my visit is to also secure a home with the assistance of my sister that would treat her with dignity and provide her with the level of care she now requires. I could not have found a better place than Britten
Court and can travel home secure that she is well looked after.

Dad has lived at Britten Court for the past sixteen months. He arrived there from hospital and they have rehabilitated him following a broken hip and covid. He was so poorly when he arrived there. They have looked after him wonderfully well and he is now so much better. The staff are so caring and look
after the residents with dignity, understanding and kindness. He has been encouraged to take up new hobbies, which he thoroughly enjoys. He has chosen to stay permanently. We are both happy with his care.

The staff here are fantastic. They treat the residents like family and certainly do have the residents' best interests in mind. The home is very clean and there always seems to be several staff working when we visit. The home offers everything you could want and I highly recommend.

I find the staff provide good hygiene for my mother. There are never any unpleasant smells in the room. She is regularly assessed for care needs, her nutrition is regulated using her weight.
The staff are friendly and caring and on the whole, she is very well cared for.

MMy friend and I visit our friend; a resident here at Britten Court weekly. It is a real pleasure to visit. We are able to escort our friend to an open area for coffee and cake away from the secure wing where she resides.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, there is a community spirit and a
family feel. The home is open, airy and light. The staff are kind, I would be extremely happy for a member of my family to live here and receive excellent care.

Job Title: Home Manager

I originally began working for Care UK when it took over the running of various homes operated by Suffolk County Council. The organisation truly puts residents at the heart of everything, which I completely support. It’s also very supportive as an employer – as a manager I have a great support network to help me do my job to the highest standards. 


I enjoy mornings the most at Britten Court: many residents are up and about and I can spend time with them, having a chat and finding out how they plan to spend their day. I’m privileged to work with some wonderful residents and families, including some people we’ve been supporting for a long time because they transferred from the old Council-run homes as I did!


Outside of work, I have a very busy home life. I’ve three children and eight grandchildren who I love spending time with.
