My grandmother, at 91, had to go into a home because she was too fragile to live by herself. We were worried whether she'd be happy especially as she's Gujarati and doesn't speak English - but the home went out of their way to welcome her and make her an important part of their family. The home is truly wonderful. The facilities, meals and care she receives are second to none. It's a pleasure to see her come out of her shell and enjoy her final years in comfort. Simple things like carers sitting with her over tea and talking mean a lot. And the whole family is so thankful that she's happy here. If you're thinking about a home for your loved one I would highly recommend Karuna Manor.

I have been very impressed with the facilities and quality of care at Karuna Manor. Residents are treated with sensitivity and compassion, and staff are responsive to relatives' feedback. I have noticed a significant improvement in my mother's wellbeing due to the daily care, companionship and stimulation she has had since arriving at Karuna Manor. Thank you to all Karuna Manor staff!

Karuna Manor has been caring for my mum since 2016 after she suffered a major stroke. The past year has been an exceptionally difficult year due to the COVID pandemic, but all the staff on the 1st floor and the wider Karuna team of activities, kitchen, laundry, cleaning and office have all done their best to ensure Mum has been kept safe, well looked after and her mental wellbeing is being looked after. They have been as accommodating, understanding and shown have shown compassion. Myself and my sister are so grateful.

Reply from Raj Kerai, Community Development Manager at Karuna Manor

Thank you for your review of our home. I totally agree with you, the last year has been very challenging with the pandemic and the rule changes, whilst maintaining the high level of care we are known for. It is a pleasure to look after your mum, and if you or your sister require any further assistance, please do let us know.

My mum has been here since 8th May 2019 - the overall quality and management (especially the home manager, who is very understanding and wholly dedicated) is excellent and my mum has been so happy. You have given her a new lease of life for which I am truly grateful. Overall, the staff are wholly dedicated and work in harmony with patients and caring is their philosophy.

Reply from Raj Kerai, Community Development Manager at Karuna Manor

Thank you for your kind words and feedback. It has been a pleasure to care for your mum and she is admired by all the staff, especially the Home Manager, who always talks about her in such a positive manner. If we can help in any other way, as always, please let us know.

Karuna Manor is extremely well run by a caring and compassionate team of manager and staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them; staff are always happy and very helpful. Mum is always clean and fresh when we meet her. The staff always communicates with updates regularly. Mum has been at Karuna Manor for over seven weeks now, and it was the best choice coming from the council.

From making a phone call to make an enquiry of our intention to move my mum from another care provider to the day of her moving in, all staff were extremely helpful. I was kindly mailed all the information and responded very promptly to my queries. The manager is exceptional to talk to and approachable. She has a very professional approach and very helpful. Was handed over to a member of staff to process the administration and admission, who gave exceptional service. He was very efficient and professional in his approach and made the whole process of moving very smooth and easy. On the day of the move, all staff were very helpful and efficient. They are very approachable and no problem is a big problem. Mum has settled in well and extremely happy.

My dad spent his last 6 days in the care of everyone at Karuna Manor this September. I found all the staff (Priests, Nurses, Carers, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Laundry, Maintenance, Reception, Admin, Finance) to be friendly, caring and supportive. The hygiene and cleanliness standards are high - which is vital during Covid. Residents are offered a variety of activities in groups and in their own rooms. The East African and Indian culture is respected and the onsite temple with it's resident priests is the central communal hub. The vegetarian food is amazing. The manager leads by example and is hands-on and sets the correct tone at the top. Karuna Manor is nicely decorated with lovely gardens but the real asset are the staff and volunteers whose vocation is to serve the residents.

I have only great things to say about Karuna Manor, our grandmother was moved to Karuna Manor during lockdown, the staff have been so attentive and responsive to my grandmother's needs. They have always found a way for us to see and communicate to her such as the video calls and visiting outside/from a distance, and the face to face interaction even though we can't go near our grandmother has been priceless. We are forever grateful for our grandmother to be in a considerate and caring home with delicious Indian vegetarian food and religious activities that she can be a part of every day and she loves the mild exercise classes from her wheelchair.

Our beautiful mum stayed in Karuna Manor for 16 months before passing away peacefully. She was loved and cared for by every single member of staff. When well, she enjoyed all the religious activities and having lots of company. Her last few days were in the first two weeks of lockdown when we were allowed to see and be with her every single day as she did not have the virus. For this and for so much more, we can't thank Karuna Manor enough - it was her second home. A beautiful care home that lives up to its name of love and compassion.

We are very happy and satisfied with my mum's care. Although mum misses home, she has been loving her time at Karuna Manor. She loves the mandir and the activities and that you celebrated her birthday. The staff are taking care of her with compassion and love.
Also, with having the in-house nurse you’ve been able to care for all her needs. The team gets back pretty quickly too and couldn’t do without the video calls at this time of lockdown

Thank you! I would highly recommend.

All the staff are very helpful and always give service which is second to none. The location is nice and the home is spotlessly clean.
