Mum had a stroke that changed everything for her, she had been in hospital for a long time and has a lot of needs. From our first visit to look around, everyone was so lovely and caring. They listened to all our questions with care and empathy. Since Mum arrived (Christmas week), and all the busyness with presents for residents, Father Christmas, there was so much love, care and support for her. She craves attention and they are so patient and kind. Her room is beautiful and clean, variety in food that she can manage with support, she has made friends. She is not forced to do anything she doesn't want. Entertainment is varied. It's been such a relief knowing she is in good hands while we adjust to this stage of her life. Very thankful.

The staff of Prince George House are welcoming, friendly and supportive of my mum and myself. It is a relaxed and professional environment to be in and I'm reassured that Mum is very well looked after.

It's a great place to be during the festive season. There have been multiple activities on offer for the residents to enjoy and engage in. I know my mum enjoys so many of them. Prince George House has given Mum the opportunity to live well with her dementia and has almost given our mum back to us. The staff know Mum well, enough to know if she is not herself and I've seen for myself just how much they really care for her. In my absence, it is a huge comfort knowing she is surrounded by good people who genuinely want the best for Mum. I wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else. I can see that the management team, carers, lifestyle team, kitchen staff, domestic laundry all do their very best for each and every resident. I believe that your best effort is good enough and it certainly is at Prince George House.

I have been a resident since March 2023 and since the beginning, my views have only got better. The home is superb at catering to my needs in every way. The staff not only nurses are friendly, helpful and supportive and will go the extra mile (or miles) for you. I have been made to feel welcome in every way. I must say it's a pleasure to live here and be helped through a difficult time in my life by some wonderful staff.

I can't find any fault with the care my mother gets at Prince George, she is always clean and well-dressed, her hair is always brushed and kept tidy. The staff are always friendly and take excellent care of my mother, since moving into the home she looks so much better than she did in the previous home.

My relative began his respite care in early April 2024 and from day one was made to feel incredibly welcomed and cared 'about', not just cared 'for'. The general vibe is one of happiness and positivity. The staff make every day fun and it's obvious they enjoy helping the vulnerable people in their care.
It's been enlightening and reassuring to walk into a beautifully laid-out and purpose-built venue where there is frequent music playing and where the decor is changed to match the season. Residents walk out - or are wheeled from - the ground-floor salon with a new hair-do and a smile on their faces.
They partake in games sessions where they can practice throwing beanbags into tray targets, kicking the softest balls, knocking down plastic skittles, and much more. Entertainers sing residents' favourite old songs. Some walk to the pub with carers and there are coach trips out to various locations.

He has renewed his love of gardening and is far less anxious now he is surrounded by company.

I have nothing but praise to report for Prince George's House care home. Since my mother moved here three years ago, she has been treated with the utmost respect and she has thrived on the care provided. The carers accept how Mum is at that moment in time and work around her, e.g. if she wants to go to bed, they help her to bed, even if she hasn’t been up that long. This makes Mum feel validated and that she can just be herself.
All the carers and staff I have met have been friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble.

I would thoroughly recommend this care home.

My Father has been a resident for 6 years, with no major issues with care. When there have been any minor issues, it’s been dealt with quickly and to a good standard and apologetic. The staff was always friendly, nothing too much, and informed without delay of any issues.

You are made to feel like part of the family and welcomed.

My 92-year-old mum suffered from Alzheimer’s and was a resident for 3 months at Prince George House before she died. I was impressed with the home from the moment I set foot inside. The staff are undoubtedly the heart of this wonderful, caring environment. There is always a warm welcome and the home is very clean and hygienic. It is well furnished with spacious individual rooms which are warm, light and airy. Every effort is made to ensure that nutritious enticing meals appropriate for each individual is provided. The entertainment and Activities Team are enthusiastic and energetic. Mum was always well groomed and dressed in matching outfits, something which was very important to her. She liked going to the coffee shop or sitting outside in the well-cared-for garden. Although her stay was comparatively short, I was able to relax knowing that she was in the best place possible where her emotional and physical needs were met by an outstanding and professional Care Team. Thank you for looking after mum so well.

Mum had been a resident for a number of years and had dementia. She was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in February 2023 and the staff looked after her with such care and affection. At 98 they had her walking with help, taking part in activities and socialising. As her end approached we had the option for her to go into a hospice but decided to leave her at her “home” surrounded by people who cared about her and knew her. In her last days before her death, they made sure she was checked on constantly and some of her care team went in to sit with her on their days off so she wouldn’t be alone. We couldn’t have asked for more. She was surrounded by her Prince George family right up until her death a few hours after our last visit to her. Your staff there are very special people and over the years we’ve seen the care and compassion they give to the residents. Mum loved them like family and they have become family to us. We are visiting now with Mum's great-grandson for Toddler mornings.

Prince George House is a very welcoming and friendly place. The staff take great pains to ensure that your needs are met in all aspects of your care. There is always someone to help with day-to-day things such as posting a letter, ensuring your wi-fi connection is working properly or helping to track down a missing item of laundry. The rooms and common areas are very clean and the gardens are very well maintained. The activities staff work hard to provide a varied programme. The food is generally good, although there have been a few weeks recently when it was below standard. It would be helpful to know that steps are being taken to ensure this doesn't happen in the future if the chef is on holiday. The care teams work extremely hard and are much appreciated. The hairdressing and coffee shop facilities are a bonus!

All in all this home seems to be lovely, Mum doesn't remember anything but she seems to be reasonably happy most of the time considering, plenty of activities to occupy their minds so not left sitting for hours on end. Staff are all friendly and attentive and always someone there when you need them. The only thing I found wrong is that after a call from my sister, I had to supply her with shampoo and shower gel.

Luminita Triff
Luminita TriffJob Title Home Manager

I joined Care UK in 2015 after achieving my nursing qualification in Romania and working there as a Nurse.

I was looking for a new challenge and decided to apply for a nursing job in the UK. Care UK was recommended to me, and I’ve been here for the past eight years.

Moving to the UK and succeeding in my role in a completely new health system has been the biggest professional challenge in my career. I’ve risen the ranks, starting as a nurse and moving from Clinical Lead to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.

To do this job well, it’s important to be caring and compassionate, have effective communication skills, problem-solving skills, leadership and resilience. My favourite part of the working day is when I feel that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life. I aim to do the best I can to fulfil my job role while practising kindness.

Since I moved to the UK, the residents at Prince George's House and my colleagues have become my second family, and I love and value them all as much as my own family.

When I’m not working, I like to chat with my son and his family who live in Romania. I also unwind by reading, listening to music, playing training programmes to improve my language skills, watching films, and travelling.
