Prince George House is a modern, purpose-built care home in Ipswich that provides personalised respite, residential, nursing and dementia care for older people. The dedicated team gets to know each resident well so they can tailor their care to their unique needs and wishes.

The home has its own cinema, café, hair salon and 40s/50s-themed lounge so residents are able to continue enjoying a fantastic lifestyle. The talented lifestyle team ensures there's something to look forward to each day, from music and singing sessions to visits from therapy animals, plus outings and entertainment.

Each bedroom has an en-suite wet room and is furnished to a high standard, but residents can also bring their own treasured possessions if they wish.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Be very aware that this 'Care' Home is tragically totally unsuitable for respite. (I note remarks made 4 years ago by someone, which almost mirrors our experience recently). Since I continue to be in 'dispute' with the owners, following their 'review' of my wife's very unhappy few day's stay there,
I will say no more at this stage. All I ever wanted was a full, and immediate apology*. As it is, 3 months later; I have had to 'drag' a very half-hearted partial 'apology' out of anyone in authority. When I finally managed to prise my wife out, and home in July; she spent the next few weeks asking me every morning - "Can I stay with you?" Suffice it to say, it took both of us weeks to get over the intense trauma they needlessly inflicted upon us. Look out for more in local and national media - unless finally, someone soon sends us the apologetic * letter we fully deserved in the first place.

I found all carers and staff to be caring, kind and fond of Mum. However, certain requests for Mum's needs were not carried out. Senior staff I found hard to approach for information as always too busy.
Mum's spectacles have been missing for about three to four weeks and don't feel much effort has
been taken to find them.

Overall I and my family are satisfied that our loved one is being cared for and stimulated and treated with dignity. All the staff we have encountered on the suite are cheerful, friendly and respectful towards my wife and us as her wider family and are clearly very hardworking. It's a pity there aren't
another 2 (or even 3!) members of staff for each shift to share the world loads, but also to enable residents more time with one-on-one. Someone to sit and chat with, to have a cup of tea with or a little stroll around the garden.

My father was admitted to Prince George House last year after a sudden illness. Having never been away from my mother and his home in 65 years he was obviously very anxious. The staff were so very kind and welcomed him into the home. Dad soon realised that he was very well cared for and that he could
ask for assistance at any time. He enjoyed mealtimes in the dining area where he soon made friends and also enjoyed socialising with the lovely staff. All staff were so very helpful. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. When hospitalised towards the end of his life his wish was to be returned to Prince George as soon as possible where he knew he would be treated with love and respect. Close family members were able to visit and be with him when he passed away. For this we were truly grateful, it meant so much to us to be by his side. The staff are wonderful. Thank you to all the staff. It was a pleasure to know you all and heartfelt thanks for all you did for Dad.

The care home is excellent for all reasons especially care given to clients by staff. Every care is taken to ensure residents have a comfortable life and provide interesting activities while residents are invited to attend if they wish. I cannot recommend Prince George House enough. My husband going into residential care was the hardest decision of my life but found the reception and admin staff are always cheerful and helpful. The rooms are lovely and very clean. The nursing is excellent, and the carers are absolutely brilliant. There
are always activities, entertainers and sing-a-longs to keep residents stay cheerful and active. Thank you, everyone, for making a heartbreaking decision more bearable.

My 95-year-old mother was resident in Prince George House for the final 3 weeks of her life, having been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May. She had reached a stage when she could no longer be looked after in her own home. It was a difficult decision to make but we were extremely happy with the
care and support she received in Prince George House from all the staff.
Unfortunately, she wasn't well enough to participate in the activities on offer or to make full use of the excellent facilities.

My husband had a week's respite care at Prince George House. From the moment of my enquiry, through to the end of the respite period, Prince George House care and attention to detail were excellent. I felt extremely confident to leave my husband in the care of the amazing staff. Nothing was too much

Job Title: Home Manager

I joined Care UK in 2015 after achieving my nursing qualification in Romania and working there as a Nurse.


I was looking for a new challenge and decided to apply for a nursing job in the UK. Care UK was recommended to me, and I’ve been here for the past eight years.


Moving to the UK and succeeding in my role in a completely new health system has been the biggest professional challenge in my career. I’ve risen the ranks, starting as a nurse and moving from Clinical Lead to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.


To do this job well, it’s important to be caring and compassionate, have effective communication skills, problem-solving skills, leadership and resilience. My favourite part of the working day is when I feel that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life. I aim to do the best I can to fulfil my job role while practising kindness.


Since I moved to the UK, the residents at Prince George's House and my colleagues have become my second family, and I love and value them all as much as my own family.


When I’m not working, I like to chat with my son and his family who live in Romania. I also unwind by reading, listening to music, playing training programmes to improve my language skills, watching films, and travelling.
