Since our mum arrived at St John's, we have all been made to feel welcome and mum is enjoying her time here. Staff are attentive, polite and nothing is a problem, taking the care for our mum to what we think is above and beyond. The home has a lovely atmosphere with lots for the residents to do and achieve. Holkham (Dementia ward) is amazing and I like that activities are arranged involving everyone in the home. St John's tries their utmost to maintain a home from home environment and including the relatives in everything they do.

Initially, there were minor problems, probably through unfamiliarity with our requirements, but these gave now been resolved. The accommodation (including the luxurious fittings of the home), the meals and everything else is excellent. There has been a marked improvement in the service provided on Sandringham suite.

I originally booked two weeks at St John's House in September as my daughter was to be away visiting her daughter and husband. Because I had a bad fall (no fracture) on 23rd August I was unable to stay with my son. After 2 weeks in hospital, I then went to St John's House. Initially, I couldn't raise my left leg and foot so needed help at night time. The staff at St John's were very helpful with all of this and encouraged me with cheerful support. I added on an extra week to increase my independence. My entire experience was excellent, visitors and family enjoyed a welcome and lunches in the lovely restaurant. Obviously, the staff are very well trained. Any delay in continuity while helping because of emergencies was always explained and kept to the minimum. Depending on individual problems. I would certainly recommend the care provided at St John's to those known to me.

I arrived still under the influence of the anaesthetic and not feeling very well following spinal surgery. I didn't seem to recover until a couple of days before leaving. In this strange mental state, it would seem that I was not too happy with one or two things, mainly the tea which lately was perfect. It turned out that my taste buds were impaired due to the anaesthetic! Poor girls, I did apologise. Not until my third day did my name appear on my door and on one night the night staff said they didn't think there was anyone in my room. Anyway, all is forgotten and I hope I might come again if needs be. Thank you for my care from such happy staff.

My father and all members of the family have been impressed by the high standard of care at St John's House. The physical environment combines the impression of a hotel with the comfort of home. The administrative and support staff have been welcoming. Thoughtful and efficient. An emphasis is placed on respect for privacy, dignity and choice while offering encouragement to maintain physical and cognitive activities. The standard of personal care and monitoring of health concerns has been excellent. The exceptional skill and kindness of individual care staff have convinced our father to choose to make his stay permanent.

This care home is like no other, I would describe it more as a hotel with care/support staff. Going into residential care is a daunting task for anyone. However, this has not been the case here. My mother has settled in so well and is so appreciative of all the support, care and attention she receives. For me as her daughter, I don't need to worry at all. I don't have to think is she being treated well because I know she is.

My mum stayed in St John's for respite care for just under 2 weeks. The place is amazing and the staff are truly caring and professional. The home although new is kept to a high standard. It is like a 5* hotel, the rooms are bright and decorated to a high standard. The staff make everyone welcome no matter whether you are visiting or you have made it your home. They are all so kind and understanding. I would highly recommend St John's to anyone who is in need of respite or a permanent home. Thank you to everyone who took care of my mum.

The care my parents receive at St John's is excellent. It is such a relief to have found such a home-from-home for my mum and dad. I feel completely confident in the wonderful team at St John's, who are kind, skilful, pro-active, and very helpful and supportive towards me too. St Johns is part of a family business and it shows. I can't recommend it highly enough.

My nanny came to St. John’s House and is a very difficult lady. St. John’s staff have been amazing with her. At her old care home, there were many issues. Since being at St. John’s in a short space of time we’ve noticed a huge difference in my nanny. She’s much happier, alert and it’s lovely to see. A huge thank you to all the carers who go above and beyond. The staff at St. John’s are very happy caring polite and helpful. Thank you for everything you do, it is greatly appreciated by us all and it's lovely to see how much happier nanny is.

Since moving my mother-in-law to St John’s House I have noticed a vast improvement in her general well being. She looks happy and comfortable. She loves all the staff on the dementia unit who are so kind and patient with her. Her needs are complex but with continuous support from staff, she is considerably calmer and overall much happier. I would happily recommend St John’s House, the care team and the beautiful surroundings to any elderly person needing care. Well done to you all.

Me and my sister looked at several residential homes for my grandmother and were lucky to secure a room at St Johns House.
My grandmother was so sad to be leaving her home at 93 years old understandably but she soon settled into St Johns.

The staff are amazing and my nanny loved them all. The manager has a marvellous team, not only did they treat my nanny well but I felt part of the big family. Unfortunately, my nanny passed away September 17th not only do I miss my nanny terribly but I miss seeing the girls for a coffee and chat but I know if I went in at anytime I would be welcomed.

My mother has suffered from dementia for around 7 years, she had been placed in 2 previous care homes and we had to raise many issues with the local authorities. The first was shut down and the second was found to have very serious issues that needed to be addressed. Thankfully we discovered St Johns House and I can now rest easy knowing she is well and truly cared for. I have lost count of the homes we viewed for suitability and most fell well below our expectations. This is by far the nicest care home I have seen. The staff are all top of the class, caring, professional and go the extra mile needed and it is comforting to know that your loved ones are in safe hands. The facilities are amazing as is the standard of food. It is extremely clean and you can see straight away that a great amount of thought has gone into the development. I cannot praise all the team enough at every level. The only thing I can really add is a massive thank you to everyone involved.

I arrived in total confusion with no information about anything. In fact, I was given the admission agreement as we were leaving. Consequently, I neither saw nor signed any forms. I just wrote a cheque before I left. When I got home and read the 11 pages I should have had before my husband was admitted, all was made clear at last. I have to, therefore, conclude that this was bad management. My specific complaints are; 1) Loneliness, he was not cared for enough by staff and 2) Clothes mislaid in laundry.

Also, the staff forgot to give me his pills before we left on the Monday and I had to wait until the Thursday before I received them and then it was just because I had telephoned and asked what had happened to them. They had been 'overlooked'.

We moved my mum to St John's after poor care at her previous care home. Since being at St John's my mum is so much happier. The staff are patient and very caring and attentive. The dementia care is second to none and in my own words, I would say outstanding.
