My mother has just spent 3 weeks convalescing at Abbotswood following a brief stay in hospital. I cannot praise the staff & home enough for how well they have looked after my mum & how quickly they put her stay in motion, allowing her quick discharge from hospital. Thanks so much Lea for your excellent running of this outstanding home, Anga for settling my mum in and all the staff who have cared for her in this very welcoming home. Its purpose-built facilities are fantastic.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. It's very rewarding seeing residents become stronger and more confident whilst staying with us. We will share your kind words with the team
Eric was at Abbotswood for nearly 5 years, he was very happy there and the staff are extremely caring, hard working and very friendly, not only to the resident but friends and family visiting. Highly recommend.
It was such a pleasure caring for Eric and he will be missed. Thank you for taking the time to review us and we all send our best wishes xx
Efficient service, were able to cater for all my needs for my respite stay. Welcoming and attentive. All staff really kind. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us.
As a family, we can't praise Abbotswood and all its staff highly enough. Our mother is well cared for and happy. From Lee (manager) to every member of staff we have seen and spoken to, we have been so impressed with the level of kindness and professionalism. We could not want a better place for our mother to live.
What a wonderful review. This is exactly what we strive for and its so rewarding to read. Thank you x
Nobody wants their loved ones to go into care, but if and when it happens, Abbotswood Court, in my honest opinion nis as good as it gets. My dad used to own care homes, and they were of a very high standard. Ironically, he now resides in one, and I am happy to say that it is of the same high standard that, as a proprietor, he expected. Well done!
Thank you for your review and very kind words which will be shared with the team.
It took no time at all for our Sister to settle in at Abbotswood Court and she is able to receive regular visits from our family.. Did we make the right decision? Definitely.....
Thank you to all the staff and we look forward to being part of the Abbotswood Family.
Thank you for your kind words which we will pass to the team. We are so pleased your loved one has settled in so well and we look forward to seeing you all enjoying this years events together!
Annya provided a superb introduction, detailing every provision.
Together with my mother, we witnessed rooms she was likely to obtain, restaurants, lounges including the grounds.
In addition, we were introduced to other residents whom all appeared happy and content.
Staff also introduced themselves . It was as if they had known my mother for years !
Now I can confirm a decision was easy to make. My mother is an Abbotswood resident. Warm, engaged with numerous activities, well fed and well cared for with the very best attentive staff
Thank you Annya, thanks to all staff and thank you Abbotswood.
Thank you for such a lovely review. Its extremely rewarding to get such wonderful feedback - especially when a new resident is settled and so happy. Its been a pleasure welcoming you all to the Abbotswood family xx
My mother has only recently become a resident, and we have been delighted at the kindness and professional care she has been shown. The communication with us has been superb, and we feel we can discuss all aspects of her care freely and at any time. Her room is light and airy, and a new 3/4 bed was arranged as she struggled with the original one. All the staff are pleasant, efficient and approachable. We absolutely feel she is in the right place for her to be safe and have a great quality of life.
Thank you for such lovely feedback, we are so pleased you and especially Mum are happy with her care xx
My mother in law went into Abbotswood Court Care Home initially for respite care and after just a week she liked it so much that she wanted to be a permanent resident. It's quite understandable - the staff are so nice, extremely professional, caring and attentive to the needs of the residents. Everything you could possibly want. I am also impressed with their proactive nature to find interesting and enjoyable activities for keeping the residents engaged and happy from one week to the next. Thank you so much, it's such a relief that she's in such great hands.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review, comments are passed to the team who will be thrilled.
Wonderful, nurturing, professional, caring, well staffed home.
Thank you for these comments. Its very rewarding for us to see such good feedback.
The team work hard together to create a happy, safe, welcoming environment with tailored activities and tireless staff who all make time to get to know you and go beyond the extra mile, with the manager blazing the way. I can see why the home came so highly recommended.
Thank you for your kind review and lovely words. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
Abbotswood Staff were excellent kind caring professional in every way possible. Nothing was too much trouble and the friendly atmosphere makes everyone feel relaxed.
Thank you for your kind review. We were pleased your friend had a nice stay with us.
Abbotswood Court gave mum such excellent loving care. Everybody smiles - is kind & caring and make the atmosphere so relaxed and friendly & just like a real home. From the cleaners to the maintenance man, laundry, kitchen, carers, managers etc. All greeted her by name & stopped for a chat & made her feel so happy. Exemplary and I am an Adva Practioner in the NHS - so I can speak from experience
Fiona your words really do reflect everything we strive to do here as a team to give the very best care you residents and families. Your comments will be shared with the whole team and we thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback, Warmest wishes xx
A loving caring home - staff are amazing, kind & caring to all the residents. Our mum was reluctant to go into a home but very quickly settled & was so happy there. She made friends & joined in the many activities. Thank you for taking such great care of her.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We value all feedback and we will share with the team. Sending best wishes xx

Thank you Abbotswood for taking care of my Mum for the past eight years. Your care and diligence in applying your services have been exceptional throughout. As indeed your sympathy and thoughtfulness were much appreciated when informing me of my Mother's passing. Thank you again!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. This will be shared with the team and we all send our love x
Whole experience was great.
We are pleased you enjoyed your respite stay and that you have now come back and joined us permanently.
7 years of outstanding care from the team at Abbotswood. Mum was always happy & settled. In the last 2 weeks she had amazing end of life care & the communication with the family was brilliant. I would highly recommend the care home to anyone.
Thank you what lovely words, which will mean so much to the team.
Mum was a resident for 2.5 years, during which time she received excellent care. The whole team are professional, caring, empathetic & showed Mum great kindness. Mum could be challenging on occasions but time after time, staff went the extra mile & more to meet her needs, always with tremendous interpersonal skills & good humour. There were several occasions when she was ill & had hospital stays but she was always very pleased to return to Abbotswood, where her care from the team was outstandingly good. Mum was always commenting on how kind the staff were. From my prospective, Abbotswood took a great weight off my shoulders. I know she was extremely well looked after. I was always kept fully updated on Mum's health & care needs & on one occasion the quick thinking & professionalism of the staff probably saved her life. Abbotswood Court is an excellent care home, which I would thoroughly recommend & is why a second member of my family has recently become a resident.
Thank you for your lovely review which we will share with the team. It sums up everything we ultimately try to achieve as a team for our lovely residents. xx
My sister is safe, well looked after and fed as well as she would provide at home. She recognises that she is in the best place and appreciates the care and attention she receives.
thank you for your review, we are pleased you are confident she is safe and well cared for.

Meet the Team (5)

I have been working in care for over 20 years and have held a range of positions from Support Worker / Carer to Registered Manager. My experience is with learning disabilities and elderly care, including dementia and palliative care. I love the satisfaction of making a positive difference, however great or small, in the life of someone less able than I am, at whatever stage of life they have reached.
Whilst working in care, I have been lucky enough to receive several awards. In 2005, I was the runner-up in the National Registered Managers category of the National Care Awards and a Local Hero Award for Outstanding Achievement in Care run by the Salisbury Journal and Spire FM. I am proud of both these achievements.

What I do
As Deputy Manager, I work closely with Lea as part of the management team. My previous role was Dementia Manager here at Abbotswood Court, and I continue to directly support residents and families of our dementia community. I regularly meet with our residents’ families and, with Lea, ensure families are as much a part of Abbotswood Court as the residents themselves.
My experience
Since completing my Master's degree in Person-Centred Care in Dementia, I have had 16 years’ experience of supporting people living with dementia across a range of age groups.
About me
I joined Abbotswood Court in 2016, and I strive to educate people, particularly families of those living with dementia, to recognise the positive impact of focusing on the abilities the person still has, rather than dwelling on the abilities they have lost. I am passionate about everyone being treated as an individual, continuing to develop the atmosphere of person-centred care at Abbotswood Court and encouraging my Care Team to achieve the best possible care.

As Deputy Manager, I support the Home Manager in ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe, welcoming and homely environment. My role combines hands-on involvement with residents and families alongside leadership and guidance for our care team. I love to make a difference in every resident's life.
My ExperienceI’m a Registered Nurse from the Philippines, having worked for 5 years in a hospital before I moved to the UK. I worked in a Nursing Home for 10 years as a shadow nurse before I joined Abbotswood Court in October 2015. I have achieved a number of different qualifications in Care over the past 16 yrs.

My job involves helping people make difficult decisions about residential care, introducing them to our fabulous team and helping them to understand and experience the superb lifestyle residents enjoy at Abbotswood Court.
We take great pride in guiding our new residents and their family members through this life-changing move with lots of help, support and encouragement, which continues throughout their time here.

I am responsible for making sure our residents live their lives to the fullest. I take great pleasure in seeing smiles on our residents' faces, friendships being built and living life to the fullest. We place a huge focus on implementing extremely varied, fun and exciting activities throughout the year. This could be personalised one-to-one activities, right through to day trips out. I always try to ensure there is something for everyone.
