Brilliant, wonderful, marvellous. A refuge in a time of need, Feeling much refreshed. If I was to suggest any improvements I would ask that staff communicate better. ie. filling forms in for food, still received food I didn't like.

As I'm my husbands carer I can only comment on Derby Heights as we experienced it with so few occupants. The care and attention that he has had was excellent in all areas. Due to his difficulty in standing and walking he was unable to move around the home without the assistance of two carers. One important asset was being able to dine with him on several occasions. When the care home is at full capacity there will be a different ambience. I have no critical comments to make at all about the excellent love and caring that he enjoyed during his short stay. Derby Heights can only be a great assets to the city.

Overall Experience

My dad, a stroke victim, recently spent a weeks respite while my mum, his lifetime carer had a cataract operation. My dad was made to feel welcome form the moment we arrived, with staff introducing themselves in stages so not to overwhelm him. The flowers and card in his room were a lovely touch and having lunch with him before leaving him, certainly helped us all during this difficult time. The home has only recently opened there wasn't many residents so my dad was certainly spoilt by everyone. The rooms were lovely and made to feel like home from home. The meals were varied with good choice and all homemade. All in all my dad enjoyed his stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Derby Heights or use them again.

Overall Experience

Mother stayed for a weeks respite while I had a holiday. She enjoyed lots of attention and every effort was made to ensure her stay was to her liking. The welcoming touch of a bouquet of flowers and card really couldn't have been improved on. The chef worked very hard to supply the type of food she likes.

Overall Experience

My mother was the only resident in Derby Heights as it had only just opened. She needed a profile bed so was given a premium room with one in. She was looked after very well. She was given a choice of when she went to bed and when she wanted to get up in the morning. She was given an excellent choice of food, all home-made and of high quality. She had a blister on her leg and they arranged an appointment straight away at her doctors. I would highly recommend it there.
