Shinfield View is a multi-award-winning, purpose-built care home in the village of Shinfield in Berkshire, providing spacious care facilities within a luxury environment.

Situated just outside Wokingham near the city of Reading, Shinfield View is in a fantastic location just off the M4 and A33. A team of professional and skilled staff focus on the needs of the individual while providing high-quality care services, which include residential care and dementia care as well as respite and day care.

The home features its own cinema room where residents can relax, a fully-stocked bar and bistro area, library, private dining room, spa, hairdressing salon and landscaped gardens. The home sits just across from the village green, where family-friendly events take place throughout the year.

Shinfield View has a full-time events manager who organises activities and events for all residents to enjoy, while the home has its own chauffeur driven limousine for use on days out and special occasions.

The pricing policy is all-inclusive - a single weekly fee covers all care, all facilities and all events. This includes the bar and bistro, fine dining, hair salon and entertainment. It may sound too good to be true, but it’s just Shinfield View!

I can not tell you what a relief it is to find somewhere where my mum is happy. As a carer for a parent with dementia one is very aware of the vulnerability of our parent but Shinfield View is full of life, the staff are very friendly and professional. My Mum is enjoying it so much she has asked to
stay for another two weeks. You can't get a better recommendation than that. Thank you, everyone.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Shinfield View to anyone. I trust the staff implicitly with all aspects of my mothers care having a background in this field of employment the positive change in my mum from the time she arrived here, within 2 weeks she was coming out of her shell.

My wife is diagnosed with moderate dementia with severe memory problems. After reviewing most care homes in the area, I found Shinfield View head and shoulders above the others in all ways.
The management and staff all take a caring and sympathetic approach to all patients. The facilities, care and
food are of top order. My wife settled very quickly and the standard remains just as good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone. My ratings below are not an exaggeration in any way.

I had a secret dread of going to a care home, based on my late mothers' experiences. I needn't have worried. Shinfield View is what they say in their booklet; 'luxury living and exceptional care'.
All the staff were so friendly and caring. In fact, the calm professionalism of all the staff was really
impressive. Shinfield View leaves an excellent example that other care homes should follow.

Could be happier about my Nan's stay at Shinfield View. Before coming into Shinfield View, my Nan had no quality of life and began to not socialise or go out. Since being in Shinfield View, she is going out, eating well and is having an amazing time! Daily, she takes part in all the activities and goes
out all the time, when I speak to her she says how much she loves it and every single member of staff genuinely care. At home, she was eating the same day in and day out. Now, she is trying all different kind of foods and is enjoying the social side of eating. Cannot thank everyone enough for their genuine care about my Nan and their efforts to bring her back out of her shell.

The home did everything to ensure the admission process went smoothly, it was well organised and the team made my brother, who came with my mother when she was admitted, very welcome and part of what was going on, so this made me feel at ease.
My mother appears happy and content in a very short space
of time, she is doing more than I have seen her do in years almost back to her old self. I couldn't be happier with the care and the home is just a wonderful place.

We booked the fine dining room for lunch with our uncle as it was his birthday. We pre-ordered our meal from a good choice. On the day, we were treated to 5-star quality food in an exclusive dining room. Excellent all round. Couldn't ask for more.

Would be surprised if anyone could find a care home better than Shinfield View. I can't fault it.


All the staff are so caring, nothing is too much trouble.


The food is superb restaurant quality.


The entertainment is great and the two fun-loving ladies who take care of the events are just lovely

and encourage the quieter residents to join in - no one is left out.


I will definitely move into this 'care hotel' myself in future years.

As you walk through the door and see the smiling faces of the residents and staff, you know you're somewhere special.
To sit and talk with the residents cheers me up as they like to sit and chatter about their life.
Tuesday coffee morning is great, along with Thursday evening entertainment. The staff
are truly amazing and devoted to their job. The smiles of the staff make a rainy day change to summer sunshine.
