Ryefield Court has excellent facilities. The care and attention to detail by the management and carers is commendable. As my Mother has dementia and can no longer look after herself we could not have wished for a better home to place her, knowing that she is so well looked after. We would not hesitate to recommend Ryefield Court.

My nan has been a resident since July and previously had respite stays.
Every member of staff across the building, receptionist, carers, bar staff, everyone is friendly and can't do enough.
Nan has been ill during her stay and had falls, and the staff were on it from the first symptoms. Great communication throughout.

The home has amazing food and plenty of activities.

My mum initially entered Ryefield for a 2-week respite. From there it was a family decision for Mum to become a permanent resident, her health and fragility had become too much to care for her at home. It was a very hard decision to make but now 5 months down the line, it is lovely and heartwarming to see her enjoying her life with new friends and daily activities. Ryefield is a place that has brought peace of mind, trust and care to myself and my family. I can't fault the care, compassion and time that has been given to Mum.

The reality doesn’t live up to the glossy website and brochure.
Whilst some carers do a great job, they are hampered rather than motivated by the management. Residents are often left unattended for too long.

The culture seems more focused on impressing visitors and short-term cost management rather than caring and being responsive to residents’ needs. Overall, poor value for money.

I have been here since August 2021 and have felt like I am still on holiday. I came for respite and did not go home. You step into reception and are made very welcome, even the ambulance men say how good the atmosphere is when they come. All staff from management to cleaners have a smile and chat for everyone, which is most important, and lifts people's spirits straight away. The manager does a wonderful job of picking the right staff that bond very well.

I am so happy with the care and facilities provided at Ryefield Court. What stands out for me most is that the staff are always happy, which reflects on the residents.
My dad has settled really well which is a reflection on the staff and activities run. If anything is not working well, staff are quick to put it right.

Not a criticism, but something that would be helpful for relatives would be an induction pack to make navigating systems and processes easier.

Mum arrived at Ryefield Court Care Home following a fall at home and hospital admission. Initially for respite but we have been so impressed with her care, she is now a permanent resident. All of the staff are so friendly, caring and accommodating. They are understanding when Mum is having a difficult day. They handle any queries we have efficiently. Ryefield is bright, friendly and very well kept with lots of events for the residents. We are very happy.

Review from I K (Partner of Resident) published on 7 December 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I am writing on behalf of my partner who is a resident and came to Ryefield Court on 31/08/2022 and found it difficult to settle into his new life, being fit but had a bad stroke which has left him in a wheelchair. After three months he has settled well and gets on with his carers and staff who look after him in his new world also with residents, also their relatives. Sports is his main interest. The Bistro is a great meeting place so he doesn't stay in his room. I visit five days a week we are greeted by the Bistro staff who serve us a drink of our choice. Ryefield is a well-organised care home which makes it like home from home. The staff and carers are always on hand for his needs, nothing is too much trouble and always cheerful. Ryefield is managed excellently with programs of activities for residents and a weekly newsletter for families. It's a very exceptional care home with a dining facility for special occasions.

Mum came to Ryefield in a state of mental confusion during covid due to Dementia issues and the care she has received from day one has been excellent. The staff have been so friendly and caring. Mum took some time to settle, but the staff were always so patient with her and distracted her to help her settle. The home is welcoming, and clean and provides such accessible visiting, such as having coffee in the Bistro or organising lunches for special occasions with the family. Thank you Ryefield for looking after mum your staff are fantastic!

Overall Experience

Overall I have been very satisfied by the care provided at Ryefield. The cleanliness of the home is impeccable. More importantly, there is a very warm and caring ambience. The staff show enthusiasm, compassion and commitment in their roles, and the management team appear extremely supportive. The majority of the staff are excellent but in my experience although good, some do not show quite the same enthusiasm as the majority hence a 'good' rating. Some more bespoke activities for the dementia resident would I believe be extremely beneficial.

I have been visiting my elderly friend at Ryefield Court for over two years and have always found the staff to be lovely, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much for any of them, and they did everything to help him and make him happy while he was there.
I had a high opinion of them anyway, and this has now increased x1000 since my friend passed away, and I was their only point of contact.
I really cannot put into words the kindness they showed to me and, even more importantly, the kindness, love and respect they showed towards him after his passing.
I will really never forget it.

Their actions and words came so naturally; it was obvious that they really do care - everyone from the manager to everyone downstairs and all the lovely ladies upstairs- too many to name.

From December 2018 through to June 2022, mum was extremely well looked after by the wonderful staff who understood her needs and preferences. She was enabled to maintain some mobility, socialise, join in activities, and enjoy outings. She loved visits from friends and family when possible, and weekly Skype calls allowed mum to keep connected with us.
Towards the end, her care continued with respect, dignity and measured concern. Her medical requirements were dealt with promptly and her personal care continued to be of a very high standard. At all times, our communications with the carers and management were easy, open and honest. In mum's final days and after she died, everyone across management, care and hospitality - showed the family kindness, giving emotional support and practical help.

In the years that mum spent at Ryefield Court, we know that the caring, attentive staff did all they could to keep mum comfortable, happy, healthy and safe.

From the moment my father became a resident a couple of months ago his care has been outstanding. Lovely accommodation, caring and concerned staff. Delightful food.
