Our friend came to Sherwood Grange in September 2016.
At that time she was in very low mood and gradually responded to having people and caring staff around her.

She has improved in well-being since coming to Sherwood Grange and we are impressed by and indebted to all the staff, from the manager throughout.

All the staff have been so friendly, helpful and very kind. I am very impressed with everything at Sherwood Grange as have other friends who have visited the resident.
I have in fact already recommended this Care Home to a friend who was enquiring about it.
The range of activities for the residents is excellent. I am also grateful to have been invited to events at Sherwood which have been very good.
Any queries I had were dealt with immediately.
Should it be necessary for me to go into care at a later date I would happily go to Sherwood.

Thanks so much to everyone.

My Mum loved it at Sherwood Grange. She loved her room, the new company she found, the many activities and the homes many facilities. Most of all she enjoyed the interaction with staff who she found wonderfully friendly and caring.

Her experience was also our experience. The staff couldn’t have made arranging a place for Mum any easier - the whole process was very professional but handled compassionately. Thanks to the caring skills of the staff, Mum settled immediately and approaching them about Mum, raising any concerns or issues, was so easy.

When Mum’s health deteriorated, the staff made sure she received the treatment she needed and prioritised keeping us informed. From the Manager of the Home down to the Care and other support staff, they all were known to us and showed they cared. We just felt so reassured that this was a place where the management and staff were all committed to providing the best for Mum and had the expertise and compassion to do this so well.

My mother stayed at Sherwood Grange on a respite basis for a month in November/December 2017. The rooms, common areas and facilities are excellent with lovely furnishings. She was very well looked after and encouraged to participate in activities. All the staff were friendly and seemed very good but I know a couple went beyond the call of duty taking her out etc. The environment is very pleasant, well designed and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend Sherwood Grange and my mother will be going back this year. I looked into a number of homes in the area and this one definitely stood out as the best. The management was also extremely easy to deal with and accommodating. Thank you to all at Sherwood Grange.

My Polish mother was made to feel very welcome and there was always someone around to help her. All the staff were excellent and kind. Outside her room was a small case with her past history in photo form... a super idea so that new staff members would immediately know about her. They even contacted a Polish ex-member of staff to come back to the care home to chat to her when she first arrived.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the staff is a pleasure to witness.

The staff of all grades from management to laundry ladies are very welcoming and friendly with visitors and residents.
It is pleasing to have refreshments in the café with our relative on occasions.
Excellent, clean and warm surroundings. Very attentive and caring staff.
I enjoy speaking to all the staff and other residents wherever the situation arises.

Keep up the good standard.

I have only one constructive concern. Could a mirror be sited in the corner of the car park to see vehicles entering the narrow roadway.

My Mother-in-Law was at Sherwood Grange Care Home for respite care for two weeks only, but I think she would have been fine there for much longer and would have got used to having been there, except that she knew she wanted to go home. The facilities at the home were great, and the staff there genuinely caring and couldn't do enough for her.

There were lots of activities every day, and time for all residents to socialise. There is a hairdresser salon and a cosy cinema room for all to enjoy. The musical activities were good, and the food very nice. The whole place was clean, and the rooms were kept tidy. Thanks for all who looked after her, from her whole family.

A very new and modern establishment just opened this year. Very friendly and welcoming. All the care staff we met were helpful and very kind, even in difficult situations. We would recommend Sherwood Grange as a quality place - especially for convalescence which is what our friend needed - although I'm sure it's good for longer term stays.

Welcoming smile from an individual, coupled with ability and willingness to help with any queries. Uncomplaining help from staff and there is always someone available to help with any everyday emergency eg. going to the toilet. Good food, nicely prepared and served. Bedclothes always fresh and newly laundered. Satisfied with every facility.

Mum has been on respite for just over 5 weeks now and is enjoying her time in Sherwood Grange, the management and staff are all very helpful and couldn't do more in helping Mum settle into her new environment, She is loving the trips out on the mini bus and the activates.
Going forward Mum will soon become a more permanent resident and she is looking forward to personalising her room with some of her own belongings, which the management and staff are more than happy to let her do.
As a visitor, visiting Mum is a nice experience having lovely surroundings in her room and a home from home lounge a coffee shop to relax in, and also its lovely to be able to take Mum into nearby Richmond Park .

I would highly recommend this care home.

I booked my mother in for 2 weeks respite care following a hospital stay. The assessment was quickly arranged (same day as phone call) and when we went to the home, Mum and I were warmly greeted by all staff. Care has been excellent. Mum's strength and mobility have improved 100%. We extended her stay for another week without any fuss. All the staff have been kind, caring and very helpful to Mum and all our family. The great grandchildren, 8 months and 3 years have always been made welcome. The home is beautifully decorated, clean fresh and very welcoming. I would use it again instantly. Thank you for your love and care. xx

My sister, who is 91 years of age, was unable to remain in hospital and I was advised she needed a lot more care and attention and so I and my relatives decided to look around for the best care home. We finally found this wonderful care home in Kingston Vale. I was thrilled because my sister was the third person to be admitted. It is truly lovely! The staff, management and caring staff are magnificent! She has outstanding care. Everyone is very kind to her - attending to all her needs. food is well prepared. The activities are great and although my sister is 91, she is indeed an active participant. She loves the cinema. I know she wants to go home, but she is truly happy here. WELL DONE!

I come from Poland originally, which is where I did my training, and I initially worked in orthopaedics as well as in emergency care.

When I moved to the UK I moved into social care. It was my first experience of it, but I haven’t looked back. I’ve discovered my dream career!

I love Care UK’s ‘fulfilling lives’ ethos: I truly believe that moving into a care home is an opportunity for residents to live life to the full, with care and support. I see it as the start of an exciting new phase of life, and it’s wonderful to see the positive effects of what we do, and how we make people happy.
