other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

When mum arrived here over a year ago she immediately felt that she had "come home." Thanks to the wonderful staff team, mum's quality of life has improved dramatically since that first day. The activities team are fantastic and mum has been on a variety of trips e.g. "Trooping of the colour" concerts
and a holiday to Dorset. The only let down is the food, which could be better however it is improving. Overall, I am very happy that mum is in such a lovely care home.

Always friendly and willing to help and advise regarding my two aunts. They do complain about the food sometimes. They seem very comfy.

Sherwood Grange provides a happy, caring environment for my parents, both of whom are living with dementia. As a family, we are impressed with the facilities in general but it is the staff who really make the place. They are caring, competent and extremely friendly. We have witnessed numerous examples
of staff at every level going the extra mile. I would recommend Sherwood Grange to anyone in our sort of situation.

We have used this home for several respite stays for my father-in-law. The staff are always eager to know when he will be coming back and my father in law has always enjoyed staying there. We took the decision to have him stay on a permanent basis at the end of August and he has settled in really well.
The whole place is modern and open plan, the staff cannot do enough for us and if we have any concerns they are addressed immediately.


Putting dad here was an easy decision for us. We have used other respite homes prior to this one and I must say this one came top of our list.

Over the last few years, we have put my father into several different respite homes whilst we have our annual holiday. On the last few occasions, we have used Sherwood Grange. The staff always look forward to seeing him and when it came to a permanent placement, this home was top of our list. Dad went
in permanently at the end of August and has settled really well.


Sherwood Grange is a modern open plan but very secure. It was exactly what we were looking for and close to home so it's easy to visit at any time.

Sherwood Grange is simply a nice place to be.
More like a boutique hotel with older guests than a care home, it is clean, fresh and welcoming to residents, relatives and visitors alike.
All staff - office and housekeeping included - engage personally with residents and their families, not just the
carers.
The staff are all good but many truly excel.
The rooms are lovely, both personal and communal, with a host of daily activities that even the most reticent are gently persuaded to join.
I am thankful to have found this excellent place!

At that time she was in very low mood and gradually responded to having people and caring staff around her.
She has improved in well-being since coming to Sherwood Grange and we are impressed by and indebted to all the staff, from the manager throughout.

All the staff have been so friendly, helpful and very kind. I am very impressed with everything at Sherwood Grange as have other friends who have visited the resident.
I have in fact already recommended this Care Home to a friend who was enquiring about it.
The range of activities for the residents
is excellent. I am also grateful to have been invited to events at Sherwood which have been very good.
Any queries I had were dealt with immediately.
Should it be necessary for me to go into care at a later date I would happily go to Sherwood.

My Mum loved it at Sherwood Grange. She loved her room, the new company she found, the many activities and the homes many facilities. Most of all she enjoyed the interaction with staff who she found wonderfully friendly and caring.


Her experience was also our experience. The staff couldn’t have made

arranging a place for Mum any easier - the whole process was very professional but handled compassionately. Thanks to the caring skills of the staff, Mum settled immediately and approaching them about Mum, raising any concerns or issues, was so easy.


When Mum’s health deteriorated, the staff made sure she received the treatment she needed and prioritised keeping us informed. From the Manager of the Home down to the Care and other support staff, they all were known to us and showed they cared. We just felt so reassured that this was a place where the management and staff were all committed to providing the best for Mum and had the expertise and compassion to do this so well.

My mother stayed at Sherwood Grange on a respite basis for a month in November/December 2017. The rooms, common areas and facilities are excellent with lovely furnishings. She was very well looked after and encouraged to participate in activities. All the staff were friendly and seemed very good but
I know a couple went beyond the call of duty taking her out etc. The environment is very pleasant, well designed and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend Sherwood Grange and my mother will be going back this year. I looked into a number of homes in the area and this one definitely stood out as the best. The management was also extremely easy to deal with and accommodating. Thank you to all at Sherwood Grange.

My Polish mother was made to feel very welcome and there was always someone around to help her. All the staff were excellent and kind. Outside her room was a small case with her past history in photo form... a super idea so that new staff members would immediately know about her. They even contacted
a Polish ex-member of staff to come back to the care home to chat to her when she first arrived.


The enthusiasm and dedication of the staff is a pleasure to witness.

The staff of all grades from management to laundry ladies are very welcoming and friendly with visitors and residents.
It is pleasing to have refreshments in the café with our relative on occasions.
Excellent, clean and warm surroundings. Very attentive and caring staff.
I enjoy speaking to all the
staff and other residents wherever the situation arises.
Keep up the good standard.


I have only one constructive concern. Could a mirror be sited in the corner of the car park to see vehicles entering the narrow roadway.

My Mother-in-Law was at Sherwood Grange Care Home for respite care for two weeks only, but I think she would have been fine there for much longer and would have got used to having been there, except that she knew she wanted to go home. The facilities at the home were great, and the staff there genuinely
caring and couldn't do enough for her.
There were lots of activities every day, and time for all residents to socialise. There is a hairdresser salon and a cosy cinema room for all to enjoy. The musical activities were good, and the food very nice. The whole place was clean, and the rooms were kept tidy. Thanks for all who looked after her, from her whole family.

A very new and modern establishment just opened this year. Very friendly and welcoming. All the care staff we met were helpful and very kind, even in difficult situations. We would recommend Sherwood Grange as a quality place - especially for convalescence which is what our friend needed - although
I'm sure it's good for longer term stays.

Job Title: Home Manager

I come from Poland originally, which is where I did my training, and I initially worked in orthopaedics as well as in emergency care.


When I moved to the UK I moved into social care. It was my first experience of it, but I haven’t looked back. I’ve discovered my dream career!


I love Care UK’s ‘fulfilling lives’ ethos: I truly believe that moving into a care home is an opportunity for residents to live life to the full, with care and support. I see it as the start of an exciting new phase of life, and it’s wonderful to see the positive effects of what we do, and how we make people happy.
