While this well appointed home in an excellent location ticks all the boxes, the most important aspect is the staff. In our experience the staff are professional and caring, from the cleaners through to the management. It is a happy place. Apart from my wife currently a resident a close friend received end of life care last year. He was treated with compassion and dignity to the end which was some solace to his family. It is expensive but hard to find fault
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you feel the care and support from all of our teams has exceeded your expectations. I will share your comments with the team.
I stayed at Hazelwell on respite care after a fall breaking my shoulder I have a neurological condition which impairs my balance and I now live on my own so having care whilst my shoulder healed was essential The location of hazelwell must be one of the best on the Wirral nestling on the edge of the dales My room overlooked the dales and the rivers Dee. The care I received from the carers to the cleaners the chef and the taxi service to appointments was first class ànd I will never forget them all Thank you Hazelwell.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear you had such a positive experience during your stay with us in our beautiful home whilst you were recuperating. Your kind words about our colleagues will be shared with the whole team who will be thrilled to know they made such a lasting difference.
From the moment I arrived at Hazelwell Care Home. I felt safe, secure and welcome. I received excellent care form all staff and I would happily return and to recommend the care home.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It is wonderful to hear that you had a great experience at The Hazelwell and that we met your expectations. I will ensure your feedback is shared with the team.
I am referring to the Hazelwell Care Home event and apologise for the delay. Everything was set up outside in warm weather but sadly there was flash storm and everything had to be moved inside! Chaos soon was calmed down and the programme continued. The atmosphere was positive and the afternoon ran very well despite being a little cramped. The attention from the staff was superb and they ensured everyone was safe and enjoying themselves. The food provided for refreshment was excellent as usual.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We remember the day well and the sudden downpour certainly tested our resilience! We were never going to let a little rain get in the way of our residents and their loved ones having a good time, though, so we are glad you enjoyed your day
I am being extremely well looked after. I am being consulted about menus for meals, activities, and feel fully at home here. Despite being diagnosed terminal, I am in a happy place due to the general atmosphere and staff attention.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your experience as a resident at The Hazelwell. We are delighted that you feel you are in a happy place and I will make sure our staff are advised of your kind words
Generally a very good experience over 3 weeks of respite with rooms, care, staff, and food being of top quality and expectations. The meal experience in ground floor dining room was sometimes disappointing as the company was often disinterested in making conversation. I have a suggestion on a separate suggestion form, which might be helpful. Also had a problem with laundry taking many days to reappear or sometimes missing altogether in spite of the best efforts of the staff to locate missing items.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience and for your suggestions, which I have received via our Suggestions Box which is placed in reception. I will take time to review the suggestions and make appropriate changes which I hope will enhance our dining experience. If you...
We had a lovely Sunday with live music and old timers show, we could see lovely old cars and relive so many memories. Every Saturday is a Chaturday with interesting information for visitors too. Well done!! I visit my Aunt every two months, coming from Germany. The staff is always very kind, super service, amazing carers.

The management and staff at Hazelwell are so helpful and caring. They give 110% to my mum. Mum is very happy and contented here and is well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Hazelwell for everything you do.

We have been visiting a friend for 4 weeks and have found the staff to be friendly, courteous and helpful. I have observed the staff with residents and have noticed how calm they seem to be with them. My friend is well looked after and his needs are catered for. He is happy with his room and meals. It was lovely to be invited to a celebration of VE Day and participate in the activities. A lovely lunch was provided for residents and guests.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our service. We are delighted to know that your friend feels well looked after and that his needs are catered for. I will be sure to pass on your kind words to our dedicated team who will be pleased to know their work does not go unnoticed.

I,and the family, were so pleased that we found Hazelwell for him for his final years.
The care he has had, both for his health and wellbeing, has been excellent.
The Carers have been so good with him, providing care, support and friendship. Also, many activities which he has enjoyed - games, talks, music etc.
The food has been excellent, lots of tea breaks, too,in between mealtimes!
All the staff have been lovely-both to my brother, and always to me,and to family and friends, when we visited. We have been made to feel welcome and involved with staff and other residents.
Hazelwell has a warm and homely atmosphere generally.I would recommend it to anyone who requires a secure and loving environment for a loved one.

Wonderful Christmas for all the residents. Plenty of activities and very inclusive. They look after my Mum so well. The staff are supportive and caring.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service. I will make sure our staff are aware of your comments and that our activities team continues to provide a varied and entertaining programme of activities for our residents.
Don't go here for nursing care. A very disappointing respite experience, poor care and inadequate staffing. Management had been reassuring in advance, confident that they could meet my relative's nursing needs, but the reality was very different. We had hoped for rehab support during respite, but a poor standard of nursing left her immobile, unable to even move in bed - and the nurses seemed to think this was fine. If it had not needed an ambulance to move her, she would have left after 2 days. She came out in much worse condition than she went in, had caught a UTI, and lost a lot of weight. The home's decisions around handling some acute symptoms seemed to surprise both paramedics and a GP. Care was often patronising, nursing seemed disorganised (e.g. missed meds until mum asked about them), and long waits (sometimes hours) for support were common. She wasn't offered any activities. On the plus side, a few of the care staff were friendly and competent. The Wi-Fi was fine.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The support, care and lifestyle we provide to our residents is our primary focus and I am sorry that you feel the care your relative received did not meet your expectations. Our staffing, care plans, dining, activities programme and close working...
When my Aunt ( a widow with no children) needed more and more support with her dementia/Alzheimer's and the combined help of family and care workers wasn't enough, it was time to look at 24-hour care. We visited other homes but this one felt so inviting and offered everything she needed. After a respite visit, she was happy to move in full-time. She is sociable and thoroughly enjoys the activities programme. The staff are friendly, approachable, respectful and caring. The meals and wine are good and another opportunity to socialise. Auntie has lived in Hazelwell for over a year now and is very happy there which is hugely reassuring for us. In fact, her sister and myself only hope when our time comes that we will be able to spend our last days in Hazelwell too.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our service and for your positive words, which I will make sure our staff are aware of. I am so glad that your auntie is with us and that she enjoyed her respite stay so much that she wanted to move in permanently, she has become a big part of the...
Also the December Saturday 'chat' groups have all been about Christmas traditions past and present and the residents have been able to chat about and share memories of past Christmases A lot of work and research goes into putting together the chatterday group meetings and they have been very successful throughout the year in bringing together residents to talk, to share their experiences and to reminisce.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our service. I will make sure our staff know about your comments. I am delighted that you and your loved one has enjoyed our Christmas programme and also our regular Saturday chats. You will have noticed we have added to our activities team in...
My dad was admitted in June 2024 for nursing care, initially for 3 weeks respite care during a house move. This then became permanent when his health deteriorated, a condition that the nursing team identified almost straight after admittance (after having at-home care for 6 months). We had no hesitation in making Hazelwell our permanent choice when the need became permanent. The standard of nursing care is excellent and the staff are all superb - including the support, management and kitchen staff. All are so supportive, friendly, respectful and compassionate. This means so much to us as Dad's family. For him. And for us. There is always someone on hand to attend his needs, day and night, which is very comforting for us. They are very proactive about introducing other medical professionals as and when they identify a need. We are all allowed to spend as much time as we want with Dad, day or night, even having Xmas dinner with him in his room. I cannot recommend Hazelwell enough.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service, and for your positive thoughts which I will ensure are passed on to our team. I am delighted that you have had a positive experience with us and that we have been able to provide you with peace of mind that your loved one is being looked after
Downside is low staff numbers can mean residents left sitting in wheelchairs for extended periods of time which cause discomfort.
Thank you for your review of The Hazelwell and your praise of the kindness of our staff. Our team of care staff are hard-working and dedicated to providing high-quality care to our residents and I will make sure they are aware of your kind words. Each week the leadership team at the home publish an...
