On arrival staff were very helpful and polite. Caring attitude towards patient was very obvious from the start. Respect and caring attitude towards end of life patient was much appreciated. Some ratings were not filled in as it was our first visit and we had no knowledge of the questions asked.

My mother has dementia. I never expected to find a home which would fulfill my wishes but Wulfrun Rose has exceeded all expectations. The staff are kind and very approachable; they take care of the relatives as well as the residents. My mother is content and acknowledges that she is in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment.

After 23 months I feel I can give a very balanced review of Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home. This home has given my Mum her life back. We joke together that she is so lucky to be living in a 5 star home now.
Importantly, the individualised nursing care she receives to maintain her standard of living is given by an excellent team. Medical support is also available importantly in the home, helping to keep Mum healthy.
Mum has her own room 'new home' with her trinkets. She has an ensuite for her hygiene and privacy to be maintained. The rooms themselves are kept clean, along with an in-house laundry service which includes her clothes.
The daily activities provided are given whilst recognising Mums general condition. The food is nutritious and varied with drinks and snacks as required.

Mum is happy to share her day with the other residents she has made friends with by chatting, watching TV and singing which she loves to do. The staff encourage these pastimes and add many more including hairdressing.

Concerns regarding basic hygiene care , today there was poor cleaning, soiled sheets left in room , state of our mom left in soiled seating and with excrement in and around equipment, carpet in room heavily soiled not good care why.

Reply from louise ali, Manager at Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home

Thank you for speaking with me and for your honesty. I'm deeply sorry your mom experienced poor hygiene care on Thursday - soiled sheets in the room, soiled seating, and excrement on equipment and the carpet are unacceptable and fall far short of our standards. I appreciated meeting with you on...

Carol is well looked after and content. Staff have taken time to get to know her and treat her with kindness, respect and a friendly approach. Carole has significant mobility and cognitive issues, and staff take time for her to understand when administering personal care. The home has a warm feel whilst maintaining a professional approach.

We are so pleased with the care my auntie is getting. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile, and this continues with all the nurses and care team. Obviously, we would want my auntie to be at home, but this is not possible, and Wulfrun Rose is the next best option.

From the initial visit to Wulfrun Rose to the day mam passed away; she and I felt part of the family. We were welcomed with open arms. Advice was given about finances, which I especially appreciated. Once mam had moved in the staff were very caring, yet professional. She was very well cared for. The medical care from the nurse (and weekly doctor's visits) was excellent. When she passed away it felt the staff were losing a member of the family.

A generally positive impression of both management and staff have been gained since my relative took residence in Wulfrun Rose from October 2024. The home provides a safe and dignified environment for my relative, who is generally happy with the assistance and services he receives. Food quality and variety appear to have improved following the appointment of a recent new kitchen chef, with my relative having noted the improvement in food quality and range.

They take good care of my uncle, making sure he's clean and happy. They also got a good connection with him, with him only being in here a month so far. They make sure he's well-fed and drinking enough fluids. They support him on his bad days.

As a resident of Wulfrun Rose for the past 15 months, I would comment that I am generally happy with Wulfrun Rose, although in my opinion, there are some areas for improvement. These include the rooms being excessively warm during all seasons, with limited air ventilation. Lack of visits by management to my room to enquire of my welfare is also consistently a negative. Food quality and variety appear to have recently improved. Carers and nurses are very good and attend to my daily needs on a regular basis.

I feel confident when I am not visiting that my mother is being looked after. Every time a carer passes they interact with her and make sure she always has plenty of fluid on her table which helps with her kidney complaint. The staff all seem to be very hardworking from the reception, to administration to carers always willing to listen if I have any questions they are all very professional and polite which gives me confidence having my mother looked after in Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home.

My nan joined the Wulfrun Rose in December 2025 and we could not be happier with the care she is receiving. Nothing is too much trouble and she is treated with dignity, respect and kindness by all of the staff. Her room (and all of the facilities) are modern and clean. She said she feels like she is on a retreat! Thank you all for you hard work.
