From the first time I visited The Marbrook Centre I could see that my husband would be cared for. In the two weeks he was there all the staff showed respect and care but most of all they showed him love. He was protected and comforted to the end. I can't thank them enough for all the wonderful work they do.

During the all too short time my wife was at Marbrook (about a month) in the late stage of Alzheimer's disease the care and attention she received was beyond reproach. All the staff were marvellous from the management through to the nurses, carers, housekeepers, administrators and receptionists. It was a difficult time but the empathy and care shown to both my wife and myself was comforting and eased the journey we were on. The End of Life care was carried out with dignity and compassion and I am so glad my wife passed away in such a calm atmosphere at Marbrook. Thank you all so much.

Marbrook has worked wonders for my husband over the 12 weeks he has been there. The speech, occupational and physiotherapists are so professional in their work but also very caring and kind in their approach and helped him improve very quickly. The carers are exceptional and couldn't do enough for him, along with the nurses, housekeeping and admin staff. The whole place has such a relaxed atmosphere, which is a huge asset to helping people get better. A huge thank you to you all.

From start to finish, the expereince was excellent. I was treated with care, compassion and dignity. The support staff were all superb as were the physio/OTS making a difficult time in my life bearable.
The reception, admin and cleaning staff were also important and caring, looking after visitors and family and making everyone feel welcome.

Overall, I couldn't think of a better place to spend such time. Thank you to everyone at The Marbrook for your support!

All of your staff from the minute you walk in the door are all lovely and friendly, can't do enough for you. Especially the physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapist and all of the cooks and the ladies and gents do all the housekeeping and all of them keep an eye on all the patients, which is amazing. Five star service all the way.

I cannot thank everyone at The Marbrook for making my husband's stay so easy and good. I was so impressed by all the staff. The carers are something else, so dedicated to their jobs, making sure the patient's needs are always their priority and nothing ever too much trouble. All the therapists were amazing too. All I can say is a huge thank you to all.

To all the lovely people who looked after my wife at the centre from August - November 2023. I was so impressed by how everyone, the carers, cleaners, nurses, physio and all the staff got on with each other and the time to look after my wife's needs. I will not forget the kindness and enthusiasm that everyone gave. I would recommend the Marbrook Centre to anyone. Thank you once again.

Every member of staff from the cleaners to the management treated my dad with dignity, respect, care and sensitivity. All were kind, empathic and patient and were always concerned with his comfort and well-being. Often asked how we (the family) were coping too. He died calmly surrounded by a home filled with love and compassion.

Being able to play a role in improving someone’s quality of life is why I love my job.

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007 and since then have worked in a variety of settings including large teaching hospital and a specialist rehabilitation center.

I enjoy building relationships with individuals and their families and really getting to know the person, what is important to them and what it is that they want from their rehab here at Marbrook.

My role as the Therapy Lead is to support staff, individuals and their families to ensure the provision of high quality person centered rehabilitation.

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.

I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!

So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
