The Marbrook is a specialist provider of complex nursing services. It delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy for adults with complex and long term conditions, which include:

Its building benefits from ensuite wet rooms to all bedrooms, nine rehabilitation kitchens, a large rehab gym and a two-bed transition training flat, to enable patients and their carers the space to learn the skills to get them home.

Mum feels totally at home, she is happy and feels safe. The support and care provided by all the team at Marlbrook; is exceptional. I would recommend the facility, staff and care, to anyone looking for the services and care they can provide.

My partner came to Marbrook following a long hospital stay. The rehab centre is wonderful - the care and attention he receives; is excellent. I cannot fault a thing. The staff goes above and beyond. He has come such a long way in the short amount of time he has been there.

Mum is very comfortable, feels safe and at home in Marbrook - the team are very friendly and show genuine care all the time. Christmas dinner was something else and Mum had a wonderful time. Very hard to find any fault.

The whole staff and volunteers were excellent and extremely helpful. The treatment I was prescribed and issued with was spot on, and in the end, helped in my recovery and eventual discharge back to my life.

This is the best rehab centre I have ever been in, clean and tidy and all you would need. The staff are great and the physios are very good too. There could be a bit more for the residents to do during the day, as there is a lot of sitting around the menu per week had too much pasta and bread but not
bad food, pretty good.

Over the past 9 months as a family we have really struggled to find somewhere suitable for Mum and her needs. When I first came to visit her at the Marbrook I was gobsmacked to see how happy she was and what a weight off our shoulders to know that mum is happy and content in her new home. I can’t thank
everyone at Marbrook enough for giving my family and myself peace of mind. Times spent with mum are enjoyable and full of memories! A member of staff on reception is amazing, nothing is too much to ask. Thank you all so much!

I came to Marbrook on the 20-8-2019, after spending 3 months in 2 different hospitals, recovering from an awake craniotomy operation, but unfortunately contracted a brain infection, which left me with virtually zero mobility and cognitive issues, which in my stay at the Marbrook of approximately 12
weeks, have advanced my mobility. I am able to walk with a frame and hold conversation once again thanks to the staff at Marbrook. For which myself and partner will be eternally grateful.

At such a horrible time for my Dad and all the family, we arrived at Marbrook and instantly felt at home and totally cared for. All the staff are amazing and my mum, who spent 6 hours a day there, felt loved as well.
I must say the 2 ladies on reception are just the best. I shall miss them so much.

The care has been amazing, great staff, great food and always assertive care. Physiotherapy has been brilliant. I didn't think I would walk again and I am about to walk out the door in a few days. The homemade cakes and biscuits are a great touch.

My mother was admitted here in January 2019, due to a brain injury a few months prior. When she first started here she was unable to care for herself on any level. Through the fantastic and continued work of the staff, she can take care of herself with minor supervision. Every member of staff here are
incredibly friendly and hard-working which helps create a wonderful environment to recover in.

The Marbrook Centre is nothing short of remarkable. The staff without exception are kind, caring and tolerant to both the resident and the resident's family. The experience of the entire staff makes a world of difference. The facilities are first-rate, from the well-equipped gym to the homemade cakes

When I arrived at The Marbrook. It was my third place I had been to since my injury. At my first hospital, the treatment I received I thought was of a good standard.
Then I went to another care home where the food was diabolical, the care I received was average.
Then I came to The Marbrook; well
the food was excellent, the staff were amazing and the all-round care was second to none.

I have been a ‘resident’ at Hotel Marbrook for the past 9 weeks. I was greeted by their team upon arrival and made to feel very welcome and safe. The atmosphere at Marbrook is very relaxed. Residents are provided with individual care plans tailored to their needs; some provided with dedicated one on
one care. Meals are of an excellent standard; alternative options are provided for vegetarians and those that find it difficult to chew ( I don’t have either issue!). In addition, the Cafe - Bistro adjacent reception provides a superb area to catch up with family and friends or to just sit and take time out with a cup of tea and a biscuit or two. Reception are very accommodating in dealing with ad-hoc requests. The physio team are enthusiastic and supportive; providing residents with a weekly structured activity plan. Housekeeping delivers a very clean environment and superb laundry service - even ironing clothing! So far I have nothing but praise for this establishment.

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.


I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!


So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
